Apulco, Zacatecas: Military Troops Come Across CJNG Gunmen Destroying Security Cameras

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Video translation is as follows:

Members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel were surprised by the military while dismantling video surveillance cameras in the municipality of Apulco. Which unleashed a confrontation that left a balance of a gunman killed and others wounded, local media reported.

The events occurred around 4 in the afternoon at the intersection that gives access to the municipal seat. In the videos captured, the criminals are seen knocking down the cameras with sticks and a kind of metal beam to hit the cameras.

Which fell but were left hanging from the cables that connect them to poles where they were placed. Seconds later, the confrontation with soldiers began. Until now, the number of members injured from the four letters cartel is unknown, since they were allegedly taken by their companions.

According to local media, unofficial reports indicated that two soldiers were wounded in the attacks. However, this information has not been corroborated by the authorities since, as is customary, the state prosecutor's office has not released a statement on this matter.

  1. The Los Altos region of Jalisco and adjoining area of Zacatecas is a mess. This was on the Zacatecas side.
It's nice to see SEDENA making some progress here.

  3. La Jornada is reporting that SEDENA was responding to a report of civilians transporting dead bodies in a van. They stumbled on the CJNG guys near where the workers were kidnapped and a shootout occurred killing one soldier and wounding another.
Some news outlets are reporting that they were responding to criminals destroying cameras where the camera workers were kidnapped. There is a possibility that this confrontation may not be related to the destruction of the cameras because the cameras were apparently knocked down at night and this confrontation occurred about 4 to 4:30 in the afternoon. The La Jornado report is more detailed and appears to be more accurate. We have to wait on further reports to clarify the facts.
Mexicans have to be proud of the courage and honesty of their troops and their dedication to bringing peace to Mexico. It appears that the soldiers were badly outnumbered and yet they still confronted and engaged the criminals. D.E.P. brave Mexican soldier and wishes for a speedy recovery of his brother in arms.
Keep in mind that these soldiers are someone's sons, brothers and perhaps fathers. Pray for their families as well.

    1. Well said Detroit! Having lived in Mexico for 10 years and owned a business in the Bajío región of Mexico since 1998; I know most Mexicans (and militar personnel) are good people. DEP to the heroes lost and may god protect everyone fighting these wimpy criminals who are nothing without their guns!

    2. 12:32 SEDENA has a long history of betrayals to Mexico, not only of incompetence or insufficiency that lots of balls could not surmount...
SInce general Antonio Lopez de Santana sold out victory and half of Mexico to the US, we have had Don Porfirio Diaz crimes of state, general Victoriano Huerta murder of Madero and his cabinet members with help of many of his Ginirals, the betrayal of theexican revolution since the start when it was financed by the US, the "Lost" war on drugs amd the murdering all over México since they militarized the police corporations mandos at every level all over the country ending with Ayotzinapa.
If you love the military, so be it, but don't try to make them into saints, Cienpedos himself said: "we kill, we are not police, we don't have police training, we kill"

  5. Is this the same junction where we saw those men installing security camera's get taken away by that big convoy of the CJNG? It looks like it and well it makes sense for the CJNG to come back for the camera's...

  6. Seregalin:
You are correct. This is the same intersection where the 4 workers were kidnapped. Apulco is about one mile south of the crucero. The photos from La Jornada show that the confrontation occurred, at least in part, in town. It's unknown if any part of the confrontation occurred at the crucero.
CJNG didn't come back for the cameras. They simply knocked them from their fasteners to the poles and allowed them to just hang there. It appears that SEDENA was responding to a report of civilians moving bodies in a van.
I don't believe that any of the workers were involved in any illicit activities. Two were released and at least one of the others is related to the local CDS boss. In all likelihood the two missing workers were killed.

    1. That could be true, but in reality the Cds with help with the sedena are using this cameras to spy on Cjng thats why cjng are taking them down and picking up the camera installers to ask them a few questions

    4. 7:14 In reality CJNG was preparing to extort, kidnap, and wage war and that is what was being prepared for.

    6. 7:42 Cds started most of the cartel wars, broke all the cartel pacts and invaded other cartel turfs, so if you ask me Cds are worse, now Cjng are just doing what cds started but couldnt finish

    4. 12:04 Mr Symantecs here running circles without answers. The president has little or nothing to do with governing states(the governor) let alone municipalities(the mayor). Both of which are usually very corrupt.

-Ok, i get it, you have no sources, and its just what you think.

  9. 12:04 He didnt answer how he thinks president is letting that to happen. You either.... and question was clear, dont see the point of doing circles with "Mr. facts" and that stuff you get when dont know what to answer. Illiteracy at its best.
