Personnel from the Secretary of the Navy of Mexico seized approximately 1,954 kilograms of hydrochloride cocaine, which were transported in two vessels.
According to Semar, it was approximately 75 nautical miles (139 kilometers) south of the coast of Lázaro Cárdenas, where personnel assigned to the Tenth Naval Zone and Eighth Naval Region, in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán and Acapulco, Guerrero, with support from an aircraft they detected two smaller boats.
The boats were intercepted, one with five crew members on board and the second with three, who, realizing the presence of air and surface units, proceeded to flee throwing objects into the sea, for which a chase began that culminated in the securing of both vessels and the arrest of the presumed transgressors of the law.
Subsequently, following an exhaustive search, the objects thrown into the sea by the detainees were located, for which an Ocean Patrol recovered and secured 43 packages containing approximately 1,954 kilograms of cocaine in its hydrochloride form.
The detainees and the seizure were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the federation
They are catching up on drugs busts, or the US will stop funding yearly.
