CDN Tropa Del Infierno Hitman Wanted In Fatal Home Invasion In Texas

"HEARST" for Borderland Beat

On September 13, 2021, a Texas border town requested citizens help locate a Cártel del Noreste (CDN) hitman who is suspected in a fatal home invasion in Zapata, Texas.

It began when CDN bosses allegedly contacted and tasked two local Texas men, David Mendez, Jr. and Billardo Alaniz, with transporting two Tropa del Infierno hitmen to the home of someone they planned to execute. Both men evidently agreed and a cross borders execution operation was organized by CDN higher ups.

David Mendez, Jr. and Billardo Alaniz arrived at the prearranged location on July 22, 2021 and located the two Tropa hitmen who had just crossed over the US Mexico border illegally through Falcon Lake. They picked up the hitmen and drove them to a house located in the Manuel Medina Addition, of the town of Zapata.

The two hitmen then broke into the home and executed the target, Santos Flores, III. After the execution was finished, the Tropa hitmen traveled a few miles away from the scene of the murder and David Mendez Jr. picked them up, then drove them to a CDN safe house where they were dropped off.

Sometime after midnight, the local emergency phone line received a call reporting the sound of gunfire at a home in the Manuel Medina Addition. Officers were dispatched to the reported location and on scene they discovered Santos Flores, a young male in his early 20’s who was already lying dead, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead on scene by a Zapata County Justice of the Peace in the early hours of July 23, 2021. Through investigation work from the Zapata Investigations Division, it was determined that Santos Flores was killed following a home invasion.

Just two days later, on July 25, 2021, David Mendez, Jr. and Billardo Alaniz were arrested for their probable participation in the home invasion that led to the homicide. During the arrest, investigators located several long barrel assault weapons at the residence of Alaniz and Mendez.

Santos Flores’ funeral was later held on July 27, 2021. Santos is survived by his parents, Santos Jr. and Maria Veronica Flores; his sister, Karina Flores; and his son, Santos Flores, IV.

Composite released on September 13, 2010

Then on September 13, 2021, the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office sent out a press release with a composite drawing (unclarified if drawn or created digitally through a software program. such as Identi-Kit) of someone police would like to identify in relation to the case. The composite is likely one of the alleged Tropa del Infierno hitmen that David Mendez, Jr. and Billardo Alaniz drove to the home.

Zapata County Sheriff Raymundo Del Bosque urges anyone who can help identify the person of interest pictured here to please report any information to ZCSO at 956-765-9960 or Zapata Crime Stoppers at 956-765-8477.

Update 9/19/2021 9:00 AM CST: Year when press release was sent out corrected to 2021.

  1. Great article, great work police. On proofreading, on the 8 paragraph you meant to put September 13,:2021? Not 2010.

    1. Blah blah blah. Invest millions of dollars in military personal to protect US citizens who are most likely involved in high profile crimes. Let the Tax payers pick up the bill.

If this was happening every day and innocent people are the ones dying yeah. Bring the military.
