San Fernando, Chiapas: Citizens Quickly Mobilize To Capture Suspected Kidnappers

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

With the use of radios, the neighborhoods organized to "hunt" the four individuals who were walking through their community suspiciously

The detainees were taken and presented to the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor's Office

At about 5:15 p.m. inhabitants of the Monterrey town of the municipality of San Fernando arrested 3 men and a woman while they were walking in the streets of the town.

Through radio communications, the colonies organized to "hunt" the four people who were walking suspiciously and were not known in the area.

The tumult of people surrounded the strangers, detained them and they were transferred to the local park where they were kept tied up until the arrival of the authorities.

State Police went to the site and placed the apprehended individuals into their police cruisers. Apparently these could be the crew of an abandoned vehicle at the entrance of the neighborhood, who were involved with the kidnapping of a person Tuesday afternoon in the northern bypass at the intersection of Calle Palos Limón.

The detainees were taken and presented to the Anti-kidnapping Prosecutor's Office located on the road to Chiapa de Corzo until their legal status will be determined.

  1. I predict the 4 detained will be let free, to commit more crimes, selling elotes, tamales, raspados is not profitable, but kidnapping pays alot better, margin of getting caught is minimal, bribe the local municipal police and they will look the other way.
