La Huasteca, Veracruz: Grupo Sombra Warns All Ambitious Politicians

 Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A new video from the Mexican underworld has just surfaced online. For this broadcast the armed criminal group Grupo Sombra sends out a video warning with a threat for all local politicians.

Video translation is as follows:

Sicario: This message goes out to all society in general. We are members of Grupo Sombra. And the following statement is to clarify that our organization has not gotten involved with electoral campaigns for better or for worse.

We have not threatened candidates or their supporters. But we want to make one thing clear to you. And that is that we will not allow anyone to continue with their bullshit for results.

Or that they declare that they have been threatened. Neither can they say that they’ve been victims of an attack by us. Because late at night we have observed them delivering support.

And we haven't even bothered them. Therefore, call yourselves candidates or supporters, but do things right. Because this is the last call. Anymore bullshit from you and eventually you’ll have to meet us face to face.

With an advance warning there is no betrayal here. This is your last warning. This is a state that’s specifically controlled by us. Don’t turn this state into total chaos because of your political ambitiousness.

Sicarios in unison scream: We are the Grupo Sombra Special Forces!

  1. Is Sombra aligned with the Golfos or they're on their own? If alone A small pandilla like this can't be pushing any weight so they must be extorting y kidnapping.

    2. They started out as a group from Golfo but they became independent from them. They aren't that big but they do have a few cells around Veracruz, Zacatecas and Guanajuato, the ones is Guanajuato formed a close alliance with Santa Lima to fight off CJNG

  6. The bigger cartels like CDS and CJNG should take these small groups out, the small groups are the main cause of violence because they want to prove so bad they are tough

    2. Well the bigger cartels are made up from small groups like these, that's how they grow and spread. They're not sending a bunch of sicarios to other states, if they want to take over a state, they look for the small groups like this one that operate on the state they want, they offer them support to fight their rivals, they recruit them, the smaller group now claims that cartel and just like that the cartel can now claim they have presence there.

Later on when the big cartel is weakened, looses influence, or the small group gets tired of that cartel, another cartel would offer a better deal, they take it and now they claim another cartel and that other cartel can say they took over.

Example: Tijuana, some CAF groups jumped to Sinaloa and then cjng other went cjng and then Sinaloa, some went back to CAF.

Michoacan, LFM had groups that formed Caballeros templarios and got rid of LFM, and then they started autodefensas supported by cjng and got rid of templarios, and then those autodefensas formed los Viagra's and C.U. and now fight cjng.

Veracruz. Zetas fought off Golfo, CJNG came and fought zetas, the zetas that survived became cjng

    1. 12:27 all politics is local, governors have power over local cartels, and their police control the operations, problem is when AMLO gets involved and they didn't even feel when he got the upper hand up their ass, like sinhue, astudillo, alfaro, cabeza de caca, corral, la mula bronca...even FECAL, EPN, FOX, salinas and many of their ministers like chayo robles know better now.
