Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Proceso article

Subject Matter: Capos of CdG, Tamaulipas Government
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Reporter: Proceso Redaction
The Attorney General of Justice of Tamaulipas has offered up to 2 million pesos reward to whomever gives information leading to the capture of three alleged bosses of criminal groups, for their alleged responsibility in the crimes of extortion and criminal association.

They are: Luis Alberto Blanco Flores, El Pelochas or El M 28, Humberto or Steven Loiza Mendez Betillo, Betito, and Petronilo Moreno Flores, El Panilo.

WARNING EXTREMELY GRAPHIC BLOODY IMAGES ON THE NEXT PAGE VIEW WITH EXTREME CAUTION.

According to the Attorney General of Tamaulipas, the denunciation can be received via telephone on the number 841 841 0595 or by email at recompensas@tamaulipas.gob.mx as well as recompensaspgje@tamaulipas.gob.mx.

And from Epoca Violenta
Otis: further to this the Tamaulipas Government have released pictures of four sicarios yesterday who were killed in a shoot out with Govt forces. In a effort to de-glorify the sicario lifestyle, the Govt decided to publish their pictures with three of the four sicarios were shot in the head with assault rifles, and show graphically exactly what the results of this are.

" Today 4 sicarios of the CdG were eliminated by Federal Forces in Reynosa, Tamaulipas in the Villa Florida Colonia, these imbeciles as with other sicarios have an ambition to die in "battle" as an heroic act, so their friends think about them with pride, what you see in photos a-d is what a high power bullet does to someones head".

  1. If I had (which I dont) relevant info I would never trust the authorities to pay out those rewards.

My assumption is that in the end the money will land in the pocket of the brother/cousin/sister/niece of the person authorized to approve the payment.

  2. Reminds me of the dont-do-drugs campaign with the egg-frying-in-the-pan commercial and the caption “this is your brain on drugs“.

Most kids thought it would be cool to try to fry the brain.

Those pix might even be considered cool in today's selfie-culture.

  3. CDG? More like street venders forced to sell drugs for CDG. CDG is structured like a poorly disciplined prison. You have the big guys segregating and sitting back, thinking they got a head on their shoulders bullying and making the calls. They crossed the ethical line in the 1980s, hence been losing favor since. They look like cotton pickers rooting for Jimmy Hendrix to be the next president. No class.

Otis, any news in the other states in Mexico? Something that isn't racist or hold prejudice against innocents? Something that doesn't spread ill will, greed, and revenge? C'mon, there is such news out there in Mexico without turning it toward segregation

  5. Nice Otis
But Mexican newspapers already portray the horrors and outcomes of many. One thing I do admire and yet feel shouldn’t be seen by minors due to the graphic images.
But yet all things seems to have been a failure to educate the consequences.
Interesting theory and nice read B.B.

    1. For the first two years I was writing and translating articles here I didn't include any graphic pictures, but I was advised by other BB reporters that they do serve a use, to shock those who don't understand the nature of the narco related violence in Mexico, so I put them in now.

    1. I'd bet it plural "cartels". 1 single cartel would be too easy to focus on. Multiple cartels create confusion and justify use of force . Like in Syria; many different groups some fighting for power others trafficking weapons but plenty of smoke screens for confusion. Like in Afghanistan or like in Nicaragua in The 80's. Almost like a pattern
