Texas State Trooper Hit by Bullet from Tamaulipas Shootout

A Tamaulipas shootout was the point of origin, of a bullet travelling across the Mexico/U.S. border and hitting a Texas State Trooper.

Lt. Johnny Hernandez of the Texas Department of Public Safety says the trooper suffered a leg wound.

The state trooper was hit about 1 p.m. Friday while on foot patrol with the Border Patrol agent in Fronton, on the border about 105 miles upstream from Brownsville. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection statement says the federal agent also was hit but was protected by body armor.

The trooper, whose identity hasn't been released, was in stable condition at a McAllen hospital.

    4. 5:51 Sssh! By the time the bullet hit, i'm sure it had been higher than any wall can get.
--I am also sure the bullet and the gun that fired it were not "mexican brand", but some Penn just like to flap their yappers nomas por andar ahi de calientes.

    5. The wall will never be built. All Trump did was feed the frenzy of false promises. He also put the CBP in a horrible position for the coming months. Illegal border crossings will surge because migrants will try to cross the border before he is inaugurated in January. If you haven't paid attention to the news 150+ additional BP agents were dispatched to the southern border the day after the election results. Trump and his lies will do nothing but cause even more problems for border security.

    7. @5:51 and 7:25 The wall in Nogales didn't stop the 10 bullets shot from the US side into Mx. by a Border Patrol agent that hit 16 year old José Antonio Elena Rodríguez in the back and killed him as he was walking down the street.

    1. 6:42 not enough my boy, not enough, but things will improve as soon as everybody and his dog are licensed to concealed carry, then only the "slow draws" will get killed, but they will die happy that their country gave them "a chance".

  3. I've never heard of state troopers doing foot patrol. They can say what they want on the news. I wouldn't put it pass me, they were waiting on a load. Keep in mind this is RGV area. Also, where is the news about the gun fight across river?(which is Los Guerras)

    1. It makes me wonder , being from the RGV myself and having friend s in the border patrol guys don't say much but I bet a lot of corrupt stuff happens

    2. It's not abnormal 6:56. Texas DPS get federal grants to assist CBP especially in high alert situations. As does the border Sheriffs Departments. Just because it's not reported by the media doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

    3. I have family there too. They don't say much, but they show it. They drive their new cars and trucks, build their houses on a $30k salary working for the CBP and now the state troopers. Typical corruption.

    4. 7:46 you have no idea what you're talking about.. 30 seconds on google will tell you the salary of cbp and dhs... but by all means don't let facts get in the way of your stupidity
corruption? how bout the zeta controlled Mexican state police killing CDG peons and them running north, then taking shots at the bp and dhs trooper? ofcourse no one in mexico will be held accountable while if this happened in the US heads would roll at the insistence of the Mexican government and bs media.
whatever corruption you assume pales in comparison to the Mexican examples.

    5. You got the salary all fucked up buddy, hey and don't forget all the over time they are granted to protect your ass.

    6. On the US law enforcement works for the money, while in LatinAmerica they are doing it for power, love, maybe some times to make money at first, then it becomes more or less about only the money...

    7. Pinches border patrols tan bien chuecos. All of em Rollin in their wannabe trucks listening to corridos acting like they taking down the cartels. Those agents are just like door greeters stopping a shoplifter at wal mart.

    4. What you don't understand is that behind every sicario there are thousands in line. Oh yes send the US military, I bet they'll do a good job just like they did in Iraq. Oh wait isn't Iraq still full of terrorists. You want want to use something they call "Brain" once in a while.

  14. They have had kids hit in a school ground and even in downtown El Paso by bullets coming across from the Mexican side. I woke up one night here is a Chihuahua, stepped out on the front porch and heard rapid fire shots coming from three different areas of the city at the same time. I have seen what errant bullets can do here.
