Cold blooded execution
Jose Eduardo Moreira Rodriquez, 28, was shot and killed in Acuna Coahuila tonight at around 9:15PM on the road to Santa Eulalia. Also known as “Lalo”, he is the son of Humberto Moreira, the former Governor of Coahuila and federal PRI party president. Lalo’s uncle is the governor of Coahuila.
His death is
described as a cold blooded execution, and it is rumored to be a cartel
killing. Los Zetas control the city of
Acuna. Acuna has experienced violence in the past few weeks, none of which has been reflected in the news.
Acuna is
located and hour from Piedras Negras, where violence has erupted since the
prison break in which 131 prisoners escaped.
Strange circumstances surround the killing, as Lalo was alone at the
time of his death, without his bodyguard, and he was driving his armored
vehicle yet he felt secure enough to exit his vehicle, which lends the probability
that he knew his attackers. His body was riddled with bullets.
Del Rio Texas is adjacent to Acuna. The road he
was killed on is one that lies in the outskirts of the city and it runs past
the maquila row. He was said to be in
the area to attend a function for a new project he was involved in. The road is somewhat desolate at night but it
is a quicker way to maneuver around the city.
Lalo and Lucero Moreira
Lalo was very
respected in Acuna for his work with impoverished people. He was the regional coordinator of social
programs of the Department of State Development. His latest project was home repairs for the
poor such as roof replacements.
President Felipe
Calderon made contact with the state governor to coordinate efforts to enable
the capture of those responsible. Federal agencies such as PGR and Sec of Marina will coordinate the investigation.
Reports are
coming in that he was killed in a shootout between police and narcos, however
people are rejecting that report saying he was executed and left on the
road. Other reports state that there
were two killed.
Was it a revenge killing? From Proceso today 10.4.12
This because the state police killed one of his nephews yesterday in Piedras Negras, after a confrontation in which four people died.
Read additional information on part two on funeral and Humberto speaks out...HERE
So far unclear what caused the
murder, but unofficially it has emerged that could be revenge from the "Zetas" leader Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, alias "Z40".
This because the state police killed one of his nephews yesterday in Piedras Negras, after a confrontation in which four people died.
This hypothesis was based on a
"narcobanners" appeared in the region with the text "family by family", whose
entire content has not yet been released.
Today 10.5.12 reports are surfacing that Lalo was kidnapped earlier in the day, killed in an unknown location, though a good guess would be the rugged terrain of Santa Eulalia, then transporting the body back to be dumped in or adjacent to Acuna. Santa Eulalia is the area behind Acuna that is used for off road ATV riding and hunting.

ReplyDeleteYes you did! I got the call at the same time, and had to get some facts together as much as possible.
ReplyDeletedid you also say 2 killed? seems like a set up by someone very close. I liked him. Can't say that for all of "them"
Way to be on top of the story. Please if we can have some respect at this time of sorrow. Thank you. Attn. Relative.
ReplyDeleteNo mames ; )
Deleteso far what i've heard was that he was a nice person. And yes someone from his inner circle sold him out, well thats what i'm hearing, but i will have more news tomorrow as by now there are alot of rumors getting mixed with facts.

The sins of the fathers are visited upon their sons.
ReplyDeleteWould be interested to know what is the violence experienced by Acuña in the last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteIt is talked about in the comments section of the PN article
DeleteThe Marina, federal and gate r Acuña
DeletePoliticians...................live by the gun, die by the gun.
ReplyDeleteWhat ridiculous statements against this person who few of you knew about. I have no tolerance for narco crime and those who facilitate them such as Lalo's father. He is scum. The kid was not. He was not even acknowledged by Bert until Bert ran for either Mayor of saltillo or gov. But everyone in Acuna knew.
ReplyDeleteThere is a persistant story that his murder is related to the killing of 40s nephew in PN. I did not include it in the story because I like things a little tidy..I can see the connection why one would result in the other. something missing....perhaps someone can say..
Great job, you sure don't miss a beat
ReplyDeletedamn his wife is hot
ReplyDeleteIts the dam zetas that did it ever since they escaped from piedras prison some are in acuna those pieces of shit some jovani dude and sanchez some fat bastard he calls himself comandantes zetas some one plse stop this bull shit i am so sick of all the zetas
ReplyDeletethis guy was a good guy,he did not i said did not deserve this, this is terrible....a helper of the poor, this guy deserves a monument.
this is so messed up, not cool to kill people not involved in the nonsense, especially good people who help out the community.
ReplyDeleteyou reap what you sow. His Dad is feeling what lots of innocent people have felt for awhile. He is responsible for thousands of innocent people dying. There is no justice in Mexico, but Karma always get you. unfortunately, his good son had to pay his fathers tab.
There is still a lot of chatter that's not making sense but that is the main story. Now i'm just wondering if Humbertos Moreira's compadre el Ing. Muñoz was shaking businesses down in Cd. Acuña, lets not for get that this guy is Moreira's muscle man when it comes to buying(taking over) businnes for the Moreiera clan and in Cd. Acuña the Ramon family is still very very powerfull also lost a son years ago when they got in a power struggle with a PRI Govenor. Just my dos centavos. Cristero
ReplyDeleteMexicans and their stupid ass monuments. You know what will do more than a plaque on the side of the road? Some revenge from the PRI. Do these guys not run Mexico? All they need to do is call a meeting with the cartel bosses, get them in a room, and blast away. Do it all at once. Send a message. Sorta like Romney did to Obama last night!! Man did Obama loose big!!!! Hell send Romney! His dad was born just south of Juarez, and his family still lives there!
ReplyDeleteHis father was involved, but he knew nothing?
ReplyDeleteNow people are getting upset and we need some"respect"Why do you people not say this when it is someone who is not known?Hypocrites and false people claiming some connection to him?Because he was"celebrity"of sorts we owe him respect and refrain from certain comments?
No-one here knew him,you all don't show this much concern any other time?Maybe he was a good man, point is,why is it different all of a sudden?Because he was someone worth knowing?Nice people and person?
We have a Border Control Agent killed, but people didn't show this kind of reaction for him?
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have the hurt feelings expressed here?
What does that say about you,and a lot of people commenting here?
Only criminal cartel scum get monuments in Mexico...
ReplyDeleteThe sins of the father will be visited upon the son? Have a little respect and stop trying to inject worthless religious bullshit. R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteHow is it"religious bullshit" if its a tip for u and others, dont do shit thats wrong cuz YOUR kid could pay for it. Dont blame God for ur mistakes, pinche ateo
DeleteIt should not have been Lalo..SHould have been a different target. People, Lalo is not like the others, otherwise he would not have stayed in Acuna, he would have left long ago. His mother had affair with Bert and Lalo was born, he was not even acknowledged by Bert until He ran for office and in fear it would come out, he used to go regularly to see Lalo. So Lalo was not raised in that environment. His position was small, but he helped many poor people in the region. Berts other son next oldest is like Bert and raised by him. hes a punk. I would never promote a person that hurt Coahuila. this is not the person from your hate. But I understand you simply don't know the circumstance. and I understand the digust and hate towards Moreiras...and I agree, just not this one.....Paz, Chivis
ReplyDeleteAleast Moriera has a body to bury, how about all the people that disappeared when he was Govenor and never had a body to bury and seek clousure.
ReplyDeleteCristero...
ReplyDeleteI know, I keep hearing the same thing, actually for a few weeks that everything goes back to the nephew, but in this case, wow, it just doesn't compute...and the Ramons, you know many have left to Texas? Sergio also, but Eduardo is still in Acuna I believe, but last time I spoke to any of the family was 4 mos ago and she said they were probably moving to Texas. I thought at the time "someone" knows something that would be going down. very sad, I have so many close friends in Acuna and PN.....Paz, Chivis
Cistero..
ReplyDeleteis Ramon the senator Ramon or Reginaldo Ramon?
chivis,,
ReplyDeleteyou didnt know this wey, stop with your shit.
fly in fly out you know mierda
It is what it is.. dirty politicians are just as bad as cartel members.. I'm not saying the kid was dirty , but I know his dad was....
ReplyDeleteProceso saying that narcomantas attribute the killing to revenge for the death of Treviño's nephew in Piedras Negras yesterday at the hands of the Coahuila State Police.
ReplyDelete8:44: It's a statement of fact, fool. If the son was good, and I have no doubt he was, then he was killed directly or indirectly for the mess his father created. Say it in biblical or slang English, it's still the same idea. Think.
ReplyDeleteAcuna is one poor ass town. There is nothing there.
ReplyDelete10:45 i could not find anything on ElProceso website, where were these Mantas hung?....Cristero
ReplyDeleteHello 8:33 AM Sept. 4
ReplyDeleteI left commentaries in the blog section of the Border Control Agent killed and though I didn't express sorrow toward the loss of life, in life, I value Human Life and everything in life in general. We don't always communicate what we think and feel when we leave commentaries here but when it comes right down to the wire you'll find that people Do Care and want the violence to STOP. Loss of life is indeed 'sad' and it affects us, we feel something, we have thoughts of sorrow.
Regards,

ReplyDeleteMexicans like you make everything worse.Always with the hateful negative comments against another race that you stereotype, even though you have never even interacted with that race.
You talking about racism? What a joke you are.
Go and comment on the Spanish speaking blogs you will feel well at home there.
It is accepted,even encouraged.Its disgusting.

ReplyDeleteCistero...I rec your message. thank you very much. I added to the post see bottom. I like you have been saying for over a year CDS will come for Acuna and PN. Havana was saying that this AM :you have been saying Chapo will come for PN and Acuna. It's logical...Paz, Chivis.
October 4, 2012 1:17 PM and thanks I will email you and likewise anytime...
Pena is coming to acuna for da funeral
ReplyDeletethe only good thing about this is that was a moreira so the corrupt govermente acknoledge that this war was a big failure, because a LOT OF VERY GOOD PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BEFORE (CHILDREN INCLUDED) and the goverment hasn't done anything about it. Now mr. moreira will know and feel and suffer what a lot of mexicans have felt for a long time.
ReplyDeleteSomething occurred to me about PN.Do all the people like corridos? And if so why?A lot of it glorifies violence and drugs.I was wondering why it is so popular in PN?Are they pretty stupid there,it would seem so,listening to anything like that, maybe they are getting ready for Chapo and the rest.....Cristero
ReplyDeleteNarco Corridos and the whole Narco sub-culture is a topic i have discussed several times with my gringo brothers here in the states, but before i address that issue let me start by saying that if you think that an entire city is "stupid" then i have my own doubts about your own intelligence.so please repost your question in a more intelligent manner and i will be more than happy to give you my "dos centavos" worth of my opinion. Cristero
ReplyDelete@ 10:52 Ok, peace
ReplyDeleteI just added some photos that my assistant took at the funeral...Paz, Chivis
ReplyDeleteOnce again the innocent pay the price. As I sit here typing I can hear the news, the topic is the BP agent that was killed. Rumors are announcing a capture of 2 fugitives already. The American news will be be having a field day for some time with this story. Discussions and arguments regarding the border and it's "security" and what that means will once again strike up. Massive amounts of resources and man power will be focused on getting justice for the slain officer.
ReplyDeleteNow it makes me wonder if friends and family of "Lalo", or any of the victims in Mexico will see the same response for their tragedies, the same urgency to capture, not to mention a conviction (ha), the same outrage and outpouring of support, resources.? I fear that the opposite is expected. Things are swept under the carpet, hused up. No urgency, no convictions, no sympathy, no outrage let alone justice.
But that's the case for most every victim that is murdered, disappeared in this "war" isn't it. It's sickens me that the corruption and greed of the ruling minority are allowed to make Mexico a living nightmare for the peaceful and innocent majority.

DeleteBien dicho!
Delete... IN FACT, when it is known that innocent people were murdered the funeral should be broadcast and made A BIG THING OF, do everything possible to SHOVE IT ALL IN THE FACES OF THOSE WHO ARE INTO KILLING in Mexico. Strong security protection for all funeral so that NO ARMED PERVERT can show up at a funeral TO KILL MORE INNOCENT PEOPLE. Use Television to cover a Live Funeral Service, Post the Photos of Those Who Were DESTROYED bye SELFISH C....S, make it a big event to create A POWERFUL IMPACT! ....
ReplyDelete. . . . . . . 'WAKE UP THE GUILTY'
I say . . . . 'WAKE UP THE GUILTY' !!!
Let's EMPOWER PRECIOUS INNOCENT LIFE OF 'MEXICO'!

Anny banners in town..?
ReplyDeleteHave not heard of any mantas in Acuña yet, but they're apparently were some in PN yesterday
ReplyDeleteIf he was killed by 2 bullets on the head this means he knew his killer or Killers not like the authorities version that there was a shotout between arm forces and arm civilians lets see how this story ended? with the capture of one of the Z`s like 40 or Lazca or maybe this guy Moreira won`t do anything because he Knows that his empire can collapse by doing so,will see.
ReplyDeleteto the stupid ass bringing up the BP agent(RIP) this is different article. the BP agent knew the danger he was facing when taking the job, this guy was not involved in all the violence, he helped the poor. that is the reason this is a big deal. punk.
ReplyDeleteAll corrupt Mexicans should die, including ones that help the poor from ill gained resources!
ReplyDeleteNarco Corridos and the whole Narco sub-culture is a topic i have discussed several times with my gringo brothers here in the states,it is an endemic socioeconomic play on words and actions to some extent of what may be termed in a lateral free thinking artistry of Chapo and GNP what may be seen as cultural bourgeoisie. As i said PN has an abundance of said tomes in the intellectual and lack thereof, case study......Cristero
