Mexico Investigates Origin of 47 Weapons Confiscated From Ovidio Guzmán

Ovidio Guzmán had 47 weapons in his room.

Mexico will maintain and continue as a priority its lawsuits against the US armories that cause thousands of weapons to reach the hands of organized crime in our country, announced Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard.

In the plenary session of Morena deputies, the Secretary of Foreign Relations reported that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked him "for no reason to release that because we have to reduce that number of weapons."

He revealed that only in the capture of Ovidio Guzmán 47 weapons found in his room, some with high anti-aircraft power, so they are investigating where they came from and who sold them to him.
"So, we will locate who sold them; that is, who is arming these individuals? Where do they buy them? And those gun shops are going to vote for us, the same ones that we have already demanded," he remarked.

Foreign Minister of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard.

He said that most weapons that come into Mexico from the border with the United States concentrate in ten Arizona counties.

"The whole problem of controlling the sale of arms to Mexico could be reduced to controlling the companies that sell arms in the ten counties listed there," he said.

He explained that in Hartford, an armory sold 1,656 weapons located in high-powered criminal events in Mexico. In Maricopa, 1,482; in Harris, Texas, 1,156.

"They are companies that sell weapons but, by the number, we assume and will prove that they are linked to trafficking; because they can't buy you 1,656 high-powered weapons, and you do not know that it cannot be," he stressed.

"This is a crime in the United States as of July last year, and that is why we are hard and hit these demands, and we are going to move on," insisted Marcelo Ebrard.

    3. The solution is to exactly follow what Switzerland did, when it came to their decriminalization of heroin.

They did A LOT more than make it legal, check it out…

Btw wanna know why Switzerland has the lowest crime rate?

      Everybody owns a gun!

Like Israel, each person has to serve the country military for 2 years — in some position or another — and after that, they get to keep their rifle.

Don’t forget Switzerland is the HOME and originators of psychotherapy…

    5. 8:42, you missed the best parts, they removed rifles from soldiers because of "gun mis-use" at home.
And you cant just walk into gun store and buy one.

    6. You can here and always will be able to. They just made an assault weapon ban. But all that means is they can’t produce or sell high capacity magazines anymore. But if you got them you can keep them. No big deal or law you break.

      Delete
    7. @2:59 — Uhhh… you realize many states have even stricter “assault weapon” bans, where they outright banned specific rifles/shotguns/etc (like CA).

A bushmaster AR — along with any rifle that has a pistol grip — is illegal now in CA.

    8. You mean “gun dealers” like the US government?
Remember Fast and Furious, Eric Holder’s Department of Justice?
They supplied many firearms that were used in murders, including those used in the death of a Border Patrol agent.

    9. Always these garbage takes like criminals follow the law. I love how everyone likes to act like laws stop anyone besides those who follow them. Yes we have a second amendment and since the cartels have smuggling routes they use them to smuggle weapons back. But they all have grenades, machine guns and rocket launchers ect. If you took arms away from law abiding citizens you can believe they would just increase the amount of weapons that they obtain from their other illicit sources. It's already against the law to smuggle guns there. Hell murder is illegal too, that must be why there isn't any. I loved when vice news who hate guns did a documentary about a village in Mexico who took up arms illegally to push the cartels out and regarded them as heros. Imagine if they didn't have to break the law to fight back . You drink too much Kool aid. You should watch the video on Matt Christianson's YouTube channel. He went through all of the data on the widely published "statistics" on mass shootings in the US that I'm sure you all ate up and went to their sources. It's very eye opening how deceptively statistics can be manipulated to sway public opinion, especially an uniformed public. It's all so tiresome. If you want to be unarmed and rely on the government to keep you safe that's your prerogative but stop trying to force others to do so. Freedom is scary deal with it. Btw Obama had the CDC do the largest study ever on gun violence which found that a staggering amount of crimes were prevented by guns and used for self defense. He quickly tried to have that hushed up, but big brother knows best.

  6. I randomly saw something the other day saying guns from us are down, with an increase coming from Europe. Also, BB posted where CJNG had an arms factory bust. The operation was not a mass-producing factory but showed where the organization was advancing.

The Foreign Minister of Mexico is just trying to make headlines and blame the gringos and around-around-we-go. His job of selling political shit exists in every country, including the US.

Furthermore the manufacturer did not pull the trigger to kill people, it's the criminals in Mexico with guns, that create the homicides.

    2. Yep. That was an article here sometime in 2020 — I believe… I think it was the same article about how H&K got caught selling a shit load of rifles to cartels.

    3. Thank you. Yea the article on BB showed CJNG could produce 100s of AR 15s and other high powered rifles. It’s called political games. Put the blame on everyone but the right people.

    8. 5:54 the gringos will NEVER admit the US of A is corrupt and makes big money from destabilizing countries and flooding them with guns. They make billions doing that. The funny thing is, they later act like heroes after they take their resources and destabilize that country.
Examples- Afghanistan and Iraq. There was never any weapons of mass destruction like they claimed they would find.

  8. I used to be heavy for the 2nd amendment, but as I got older I realized that there is no way an armed uprising/militia would EVER have a chance against the gov… The people “fighting” for the right to “arm themselves against a tyrannical government” are morons, they would get droned their first 48 hours at “war” …

I still believe in the right to own however, for self-defense and home protection, but I don’t need an automatic or .50 cal sniper rifle that’s for sure… as cool as they are

Who knows what Mexico would be like, if every home had the right to arm itself for protection…

    8. The bus government actually did a study on this exact subject and would heavily disagree with you. You really think the military would bomb their own families. Their study seems to think a very large portion would defect outright and a bunch more would stay on as saboteurs, moles ECT. Hell, even Japan said nobody would ever invade the mainland us because there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass. Those fancy bombs did so great against the Taliban and in Vietnam also didn't they. Maybe we beat them next time since we just gave them 90 billion dollars worth of new state of the art weapons.

  9. Yes, cartels source MANY firearms from the USA. But, they also source many firearms from corrupt Mexican military and government officials. And there are many reports of retired ex-commandos from countries all over the world (Mossad, etc) directly training and running security for cartels…which means these guys are also probably importing weaponry from wherever. We can all blame the gringos north of the border because they definitely are the easiest scapegoat given geographic proximity and the 2nd amendment. But please, nobody fool yourselves into believing that if the US abolished firearms tomorrow and everyone turned them in and burned them all that the cartels in Mexico would be deprived of their guns. That’s like saying legalizing drugs in the US would put the cartels out of business. Both are pipe dreams…

  13. It’s funny how a lot of ppl are mad that Mexico is looking into this lol lol maybe it’s time to extradite a couple of Americans to Mexico for fueling the drug war and helping drug lords “rape and kill masses” like a bunch you claim. I find it ironic how a lot of ppl blame a drug lord of a crime that someone down the ladder did but whenever a soldier kills an innocent person no one blames the president. Isn’t that how it’s suppose to work then? After all the president of the U.S is the commander in chief. So wouldn’t that make our past presidents eligible for imprisonment for crimes of war because of his army killing and bombing the ppl of the Middle East? I mean countless innocent lives were lost.

Hell, maybe they should just start going door to door searching houses to prevent crimes too, I mean if your not doing anything wrong what do you have to hide?
