 "Ivan" for Borderland Beat

Armed men "picked up" a mother of a family in Cruz de Piedra ejido

Empalme, Sonora - The lifeless body of Oralia Millanes, who was reported missing since last Wednesday around 5:00 p.m., when she was at her workplace in the Cruz de Piedra del Valle de Empalme ejido.

Oralia, who was 42 years old, was deprived of her freedom by armed subjects, and since then nothing was known of her, until today, when family members confirmed her identity.

    2. Safe to assume that a lifeless woman is a dead woman? I guess it is sort of like calling feces a brown pile or no?

    3. Puerto Peñasco has loads of dead bodies in the desert, near town. Lot of them pretty young girls CDS kidnapped, raped, then murdered. Playground for american pedófilos as well. Lot of gringos go there thinking they can break into the narcóticos trafficking biz, they end up dead too. You cant do business with CDS, period. Remember, Chapo snitched on EPN, the former President of México. Not even one of their miembros can be trusted. Also, Police Rob stupid americans in Ricky point, planting drugs in their cars. Who you think police work for? This is CDS at its best.

  5. Death penalty needed bad in Mexico. Killing woman and kids should draw the line.

    1. Killing kids should be off limits. Women are equals and are fair game

    2. Would you believe Mexico does not want to have a death penalty whatsoever. Nor do they want outside help, to help with the ever growing homicides.

    3. They already have death penalty, the kill each other and put out the video but that doesn't stop violence.

  6. More people die in Chicago's South Side hood, although everyone there is a government assistance receiver. No need to work as food ,rent and utilities are paid for by the American taxpayer. Yet they still commit crime

  7. What could this possibly have been about for her to be kidnapped and murdered? She is anyone's Grandmother!! Can't believe she was anything but related to someone who messed up.

  8. There are approx 5+ murders or disappearances per day in the Guaymas (pop 156K)/Empalme (151K)/Obregon (433K) region. Sometimes many more, sometimes a little less, very rarely zero. The people being killed are increasingly older and female. Still a minority of these things, but a rapidly increasing minority.

That's an interesting observation. When you think about it, it would be difficult to catch a serial killer with all of the drug related homicides.

    2. The State Department put out a travel advisory for this area on August 17. They have this listed as a no go area for U.S. government employees.

      Delete
    3. @Detroit, it's been an unofficial no-go area anywhere south of Hermosillo for Hermosillo US Consulate employees for a long time. They may only travel between Nogales and Hermosillo, only on the 15, and only during the daytime.
