Armed Group Intercepts National Guard Elements In Southern Sinaloa

 "Ivan" for Borderland Beat

An armed group intercepted members of the National Guard on the Mazatlan-Villa Union free highway at around 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

A video shared on social networks shows several pickup trucks with armed men surrounding a vehicle and a National Guard pickup truck.

Federal sources confirmed that a total of eight military personnel were intercepted by a commando of 40 gunmen aboard at least nine vehicles, including vans and cars.

According to the sources, the commando did not assault or deprive any military personnel of their liberty, nor were they disarmed.

The presence of the armed group in the place was to warn the military not to mess with them.

In the recording shared on the page "Accidentes Carreteros de la 57″, and which was recorded by a truck driver, it is stated that the elements were stripped of their weapons", even though the recording only shows the armed men surrounding the official units, others on foot, and finally when they leave the place.
