"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Three alleged criminals killed, a vehicle and weapons insured were the result of an armed aggression against Metropolitan Police (Metropol) troops in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood of this municipality.

The confrontation between armed civilians and police was recorded at 04:40 this Friday on Monterrey Street, located in the northern part of the municipal capital.

After the large-caliber shots at the uniformed personnel, police support was requested via radio, several corporations responded and the persecution occurred.

Derived from the scuffle, the three alleged criminals traveling in a vehicle were left dead, one of them on the dirt road and the others inside the unit they were in.

The vehicle was secured and inside it large caliber weapons were located that are presumed to have been the ones that were used against the officers.

After having everything under control, the authorities were informed that no injured officers were registered. The area was completely monitored and a wide perimeter was ordered cordon off to carry out the corresponding inquiries.

The vehicle, evidence and weapons were removed by the staff of the Zacatecan Institute of Forensic Sciences (IZCF), as well as the bodies that were taken to the laboratory for the autopsy of law and to be identified.

  1. No good guys were lost but three bad guys were. Always the same narrative in Mexico. Journalism pressured by both the bad and bad (gov't) guys.

Good news today - Dmitry Muratov wins the Nobel Peace Price. Independent voice that speaks against journalism violence. Safeguarding free speech in Russia, like many here do in Mexico.
