State Police initiate persecution; There is alarm over a shooting in the Aztlán and Las Cumbres colonies

Armed criminals shot at State Police.

Elements of the State Police were shot at in the La Cañada neighborhood by armed individuals who were traveling in a vehicle.

The attack was recorded at 2:00 p.m. yesterday, on Hawaii Street and London, when the uniformed men ran into the criminals during a security and surveillance round they were carrying out in the area.

From that place an armed shooting pursuit began that lasted through the Aztlán and Las Cumbres colonies, being in the latter neighborhood that the criminals were lost sight of.

First they took all Pekin Street in the Cañada neighborhood, then 20th Street in Aztlán, followed the Central Avenue of the Summits and finally along Mil Cumbres Boulevard, until they reached the bypass where they escaped.

It transpired that during the aggression a State Police officer was injured, however, until the close of the edition of this newspaper the authorities have not verified whether he was injured or not.

The support was joined by elements of the National Guard and personnel of the Mexican Army, who implemented a search operation in the area, but had negative results.

Residents of the aforementioned neighborhoods alerted the situation of risk on social networks, but they didn’t indicate what type of vehicle was the one that had attacked the agents, they only specified to say that there was a shooting.

It is expected that in the coming hours the authorities will issue an official bulletin of the facts.
