Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua: La Línea And La Empresa Persecute Junkyard Businesses

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A blanket in support of junkyard owners for the burning of their businesses was left this morning at the Clover Bridge.

The white blanket with black letters indicated that the fires in the junkyards were due to extortion and payment of fees.

The arsonists accused the junkyard owners of trafficking stolen cars.

In it they asked them not to be intimidated by the current events and offered support but it was not signed by anyone or by any group or corporation.

Municipal agents arrived at the intersection of Tecnológico and Ejército Nacional to remove the blanket.

Message reads as follows:

Junkyard owners don’t allow yourselves to be intimidated by what’s happening. We know that the persecutions against businesses is due for refusing to pay extortion to those dirty mafias “La Línea” and “La Empresa”. Stay strong and go forward in your particular way. Your steadfast support is here with you. Don’t pay extortion to no one.
