740 Kilos Of Meth Found among Corn Bags in Chihuahua

740 kilos of drugs hidden among corn bags

The events took place on the El Sueco-Janos highway, in the Vado Santa María-Janos section, in the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua

A shipment of 740 kilos of the drug identified as glass was detected among bags of corn, during an operation carried out by the National Guard on a highway in the state of Chihuahua.

The spokesperson for the federal corporation detailed that the operator of a cargo vehicle, from Culiacán, Sinaloa, was detained on the El Sueco-Janos highway, in the Vado Santa María-Janos section, in the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes.  Video at bottom.

After an interview, the driver explained that he was destined for Ciudad Juárez, and when carrying out an inspection in the loading area, a refrigerated box-type semi-tractor trailer, 221 packages made of plastic were found, among the bags of the grain and eight rectangular plates of metal.
Inside the plastic packages, a substance with the characteristics of the crystal meth was found, weighing 740 kilos and, according to calculations by the National Guard, worth 200 million pesos.
Before the commission of a crime, the truck driver was read the Book of Rights that Assist People in Detention, and the  data were recorded in the National Detention Registry, to be made available to the Attorney General of the Republic.
