The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked the population not to stop their outings

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat

At the end of his tour of Oaxaca, AMLO assured that his government "is ready" to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

Given this, he asked the population "not to be scared" and take to the streets to "eat with the family", this during phase 1 of the contingency measures.

The statements were made from minute 8 of the following video found on this hyperlink

Mexico: 251 cases, 48 are new cases, 2 deaths. Includes: 35 cases in Mexico City, 4 in Jalisco, 4 Michoacán, 1 Campeche

wonder what beasts like you do about Mexico's problems
Other than denigrate the best mexican presidente since Lopez Mateos.
Be lucky AMLO is not the one ordering the murdering....

    2. Just one man... Who happens to be president. AMLO being the best at anything is an opinion, but I hope he does not end up with blood of the sick from lack of preparation. I get no joy if Mexico is hit hard with this.

    3. 6:47 we all know he is not ordering the murdering,But what we do know is that one year in office his cabinet did nada, to lower the homicides of 2019 which exceeded 35,000 and don't say ....oh he can't fix it overnight.

People don't realize the impact with the decades of corruption in that country.
The normal practices of corruption & collusion of criminal organizations with government agencies and officials are what led to this problem. A continuous display of concern with consequences for many who are on opposing sides. The threat of retaliation from or alliance of cartels are why many have been killed.
To simply shut down a revenue stream for many who rely on it will not come overnight. "Plata or Plomo" isn't a slogan without any merit to this.
Mexico's political system is far from being fixed.
Can only imagine the criticism if AMLO would to take the actions like that of Duartes of the Philippines. The pouring of outrage from many here for such policies.
@ 11:56 as if you would make any difference other than run your gums.
Feel free to run for office and prove us wrong.
      Thought so

maybe get each other from las greñas?
Consider, if AMLO were to do any murdering, I would reccomend to start with senator Javier "el perro caga twitters" Lozano...and then do a mass m<ordering of PRIISTAS AND PANISTAS in the opposition, thereby leaving cartel members without huachicolero sponsors in politics.

  4. I expect nothing different from a man that already accepts violent death of innocents by the hundreds weekly without mention.

    1. America accepts the deaths of many innocents abroad from their sales of arms. Especially to those whose human rights violations are the worst (Saudi Arabia ect. Where are the cries of outrage for these innocent people?
Look at your own before criticizing elsewhere.
He's (AMLO) already stated that its citizens would come first than companies ect, for financial relief. Unlike the American policies here where corporations and big companies get their relief. The outrage by past bailouts for banks, ect in 2008 by its people led to this implementation. However, I must admit the appalling behavior from Democrats for holding hostage a bill with non-essential issues for gain.

      Simply despicable on Democrats part.

America's arms industry has nothing to do with AMLO. Also remember that a politician saying they'll do something isn't the same as actually doing something.

Shouldnt need to know someone personally to believe this is real. ..... Put it this way... Just because we don't hear about the cartel wars on the news I guess it isn't real. But to each their own. On a good note. I haven't seen the sky this blue in along time

  9. Look at America's economic situation as the result of this pandemic. Despite the high estimates of fatalities from covid 19 globally. Many countries like the US are now faced with skyrocketing unemployment rates. Along with big corporations filling for bankruptcy if federal assistance is not being implemented.
Question is? What is the right approach of tackling a problem with little effect financially & a health issue crisis?
From an American's perspective veiw of today; the impact from this will affect all parties big & small. Resulting with companies restructuring with less employees and more people looking for work.

A double edged sword which no country was prepared for. Citizens should be vigilant and responsible for their participation in daily activities.

    Just my opinion

Us native indigenous mexicas have survived the 1492 genocide that they tried to do our people and we survived the diseases they exposed to us so this virus isn't going to do a damn thing no one is prepared for something like this but us the native indigenous community's are not just anybody we are mentally and spiritually prepared as our prophecies explain to us what is to come . its very important to learn your native ways because we will soon return to how nature wanted us to be in balanced with nature be 1 with nature . most of you young generations will comment stupid shit but in reality its the truth . the white race has caused many evil things on mother earth she is only repaying back what you did years ago . remember time doesn't exists but karma does so what happened what seems a very long time ago is only the beginning of what what is to come ..... 19. If the president wanted to prove that the virus isn't that bad he should go and kiss and allow one of the people who've been confirmed to have the virus cough in his face. I really wonder where the president of Mexico got his education in virology and epidemiology? We need more leaders around the world telling their people it's ok to meet in large groups, the world's over populated and we need a few billion gone so keep on getting together maybe the virus will mutate and become even more virulent raising it's fatality numbers.

Question remains? Which one of these are one willing to live / sacrifice with?
The 2008 financial crisis alone took 10 years for a full economic recovery here in the US. This being a few weeks at most for this devastating effect. Imagine the recommended 5 weeks national lockdown by the W.H.O.? A tough cookie to swallow from an economic standpoint.

Fact check is what I suggest to anyone before making judgment.
