Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas: "El Takia" falls, fearsome leader for the Cartel del Noreste

He is the operator of the organization in Nuevo Laredo and would also be in charge of "La Tropa del Infierno", the armed arm of the Cartel del Noreste.

"El Takia" falls, fearsome leader of the Cartel del Noreste.
Elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) reported the arrest of "El Takia" identified as leader of the Cartel del Noreste.

He was arrested early Thursday, February 6, in the Colorines neighborhood of the Tamaulipan border town of Nuevo Laredo. Police seized four firearms and two vehicles.

"El Takia" is designated as the operator of said criminal organization of zeta spin-off in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

They are responsible for the transfer of drugs, as well as attacks on enemy criminal groups and law enforcement, mainly the State Police and the Army.

That is, the detainee would also be in charge of "The Tropa del Infierno," the armed arm of the Northeast cartel.

"El Takia", accused of being a violent criminal, is allegedly responsible for the murder of General Ricardo César Niño Villareal, who was head of Public Security in the northern delegation of Tamaulipas, finalized in Nuevo León in November 2014.

This leader of the Cartel del Noreste was transferred to the vicinity of the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Investigation (SEIDO) in Mexico City.

Nuevo Lardeo is the center of operations of the Cartel del Noreste, an area where this criminal organization has starred in bloody clashes with elements of the Fuerza Tamaulipas.

In this border city of Tamaulipas it is a priority for criminal organizations such as the Cartel del Noreste, "Los Zetas Vieja Escuela" and the Cartel del Golfo to traffic drugs to the United States.

Origin of the Cartel del Noreste
The birth of the Cartel del Noreste came about several years ago, it began in 2012, when Heriberto Lazcano, "El Lazca", top leader of "Los Zetas", was killed during a confrontation with elements of the Navy in Coahuila.

Before the fall of "El Lazca", the vacancy left was occupied by the Treviño Morales family, being the first members of weight in "Los Zetas" who didn’t have a military background, but did have a long criminal history not only in Mexico, just as well in United States.

The first to occupy the leadership of "Los Zetas" of this family was Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, "El Z-40". However, the crown did not last long, because in July 2013 he was arrested in Nuevo León, near the border with Tamaulipas.

In his place was his brother, Omar Treviño Morales, "El Z-42", until he was apprehended on March 4, 2015 also in Nuevo León.

Then, a third Treviño Morales was made leader of the criminal organization: Juan Francisco Treviño Chávez, alias "Kiko", nephew of "El Z-40" and "Z-42", and son of Juan Francisco Treviño Morales, alias "El Kiko Ozuna ", elder brother of the bloodthirsty Treviño Morales dynasty.

However, the leadership of "Kiko" was not well seen by the founding members of "Los Zetas", those who had a military past, so the friction began within the cartel.

The fracture was consumed when "Kiko" was arrested in 2016, in US territory, by elements of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

"Los Zetas" separated into basically two cells. On the one hand, "Los Zetas Vieja Escuela", formed by the defending founders of the Army and its allies. On the other hand, the Cartel del Noreste formed by the Morales Treviño family and their allies.

The maximum leader of the Northeast cartel, since then and according to the DEA, is Juan Gerardo Treviño Chávez, alias "El Huevo", members of the Treviño Morales family.

Since then, "Los Zetas" went from having a presence in 16 states of the country in 2011, to just one in 2019, according to information from the Attorney General's Office (FGR).

Tamaulipas is the last criminal stronghold of "Los Zetas" and its criminal cells, from where cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana is trafficked to the United States.

  4. Yikes, that's quite the apprehension! Didn't think I'd be seeing Takia arrested any time soon. Then again, he was picked up a few years back I believe and was released shortly after was he not?

While most CDN operatives would be left to rot in prison I have heard Takia is valued quite a bit in the CDN structure. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released again.

Over the years I've kept reading about the situation in NL and I'd hear their names every now and then. Crazy to know that these guys would become infamous in the borderlands.

But if its a fair armed confrontation they cant put up a battle. Hes comandante for a reason.

    1. Fact... Juarez and Tj are more important plazas than rinky dink Nuevo Laredo .. hence why CDS has remained on top of all other cartels regardless of not being able to have control or much presence in Nectar Lima

      Delete
    2. FACTS Nuevo Laredo is the best strategic point for bringing in work into the US.. Yes Tijuana is valuable but only cause of key players there also Juarez.. here's another fact for you there are 4 main hubs in the US
      1) Tijuana
      2) Chicago
      3) Atlanta
      4) Miami
If you control Nuevo Laredo you can supply these hubs way easier. CDS isn't battling for it cause they can no longer reach that NL plaza and that's a FACT!

      Delete
    3. Fact... Tijuana is not the US ... estas pero bien pendejo ... todo lo que dices son puras pendejadas ... para empezar el 60% del perico entra por Juárez .. no lo digo yo son cifras que calcula la DEA quien supongo sabe un poco mas que un pinche lambe huevos que cree que tijuana está en USA

    4. With all due respect if Nuevo Laredo is such an important plaza how is that CDS managed to be the most powerful cartel for nearly two decades without having a stake in Nuevo Laredo ... while zetas consolidated power to Nuevo Laredo and have weakened to almost nothing all while switching names to CDN and not losing their grip on the Laredo plaza ... why does CDN need to extort travelers for petty cash when they can make so much money pushing drugs thru such a lucrative plaza ??? Answer ... because it’s not as lucrative as everyone thinks ... bunch of low life cholos run CDN ... sad but true
