Durazo Montaño: "Inexperienced Sicarios are Root Cause of Increased Attacks Against Security Forces"

Mexico City - The Secretary of Public and Citizen Security, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, said that the hiring of inexperienced sicarios by organized crime has led to an increase in attacks against public security forces.

"Criminal organizations are going through a stage of incorporation or hiring of inexperienced personnel, consequently that has raised the level of this aggression," said the federal official at the 22nd Plenary Assembly of the National Conferences of Secretaries of Security, Penitentiary System and Municipal Security.

This day, the newspaper Reforma published that in 2019 415 police officers have been killed in Mexico, in 28 entities. In this manner, the 2019 figures would exceed those of 2018, when 421 police officers were killed in the country.

In the event attended by public security officials and Governors of the entities, Durazo Montaño said that the fact that the cartels hire inexperienced sicarios "in the short term it will eventually weaken them with work, with the task we are doing" .

“The structural public safety disaster that we receive has forced us to make historical, unprecedented changes in these institutions; In response to this crisis, the Government has undertaken a profound reconfiguration of the instruments through which the Mexican State faces the number one problem for citizens, ”said Durazo Montaño.

Although 2019 will be the most violent year in the country's modern history, the security officer in the country concluded that “There is still a lot to do, but we can also say that in this first year of Government we have taken historical steps to face the criminality.

  1. Duraznos title is secretary of public and citizen security. He is quoting inexperienced sacarios are killing cops. This is the same knuckle head, that said they caught the cartel, that killed innocent kids and women of the LeBron family, but did not say the name of cartel, they ended up framing some ranchers. I say this guy part of Obradors cabinet is also enept to help lower the high homicide rate. Durazno is a joke.

    2. It’s what mexico does, basically tells the world to mind their business. It’s government, it’s citizens have ridiculous pride and won’t accept the reality that they live in a narco ran country. Somehow this is all USA fault. Let’s be honest and clear here. People want their drugs, that’s not going to end, people don’t want ridiculous turf wars that kill tons of innocents. They have one job, provide the drugs. They can’t pull it together to make everything flow, greed won’t allow it. Mexico needs to pull it together because USA is going to go in, regardless of how mexico feels.

    1. It’s clear Government (especially in Mexico), does not hire the best and brightest. It’s all about who you know.

I think most (not all) public servants, are useless milkers.
