Cd Juarez, Chihuahua: "La Manantial" Bar Attack Kills Four

Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Notenlamira / Turquesa

Four women were killed early Tuesday inside a bar called "El Manantial", located in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. The attack was committed by only one man.

The events occurred on National Army Avenue, where a man alone opened fire on customers and employees of the establishment, killing four waiters and seriously injuring a man, a local musician.

Experts preliminary determined that the aggressor carried two guns, a 9 mm caliber and a 45 mm caliber. No motive is yet known for why the man entered the bar and opened fire, although there have been suggestions that there was a threat of an attack.

Witnesses told security agents that an armed subject entered the bar and pulled out a gun which he shot right and left in the place, injuring one man and killing the four women, who were employed.

Police forces mobilized around 1:00 in the morning to attend a report of  detonations of firearms  in the bar located in the Emiliano Zapata II neighborhood, however, when they arrived they did not locate the gunman, who wore a red sweatshirt  with hood.

The victims were identified as Karela Yareli Irigoyen Cardona, 21, as well as Sahara, Abel and Viviana, whose last names and age have not been confirmed. Emergency services cordoned off the area and initiate the corresponding investigations.

  1. Nothing else shows one's deadly skills like killing 4 unarmed, defenseless women who's only mistake was going to work. What a pathetic loser.

I am also quite sure we will find out more, Ojalá, in the coming days. 2 gunmen have been mentioned , as well as an “ armed commando”. the only on everified is the dude in the red hoodie SO FAR.

  4. 7:35. What's it really like living in Juarez? From what we read about the local drug cells/cartel war/plaza fights etc from different news outlets it makes it look like it's on fire with dead bodies in every street, armoured tanks fire fights at every hour. Obviously it's not like. could you shed some light as a Juarez citizen please. Are you scared stuff or caution? Thanks. I know nothing about Juarez, its rich or poor areas. Love to mexico and its citizens from the uk. Love to bb too.

    1. Juarez is not a small town.. its a huge city, Most citizens live a regular life or at least try to. Of course you want to avoid dangerous places like in any other big city. Most people dead occur for a reason(usually bad people).

    2. been her for 19 years now. Lived in Oak Cliff / Dallas area in the 90's . I can say same difference. Both areas are/were dangerous in their own way. As long as you learn what/where to avoid. Example when Juarez violence was at it's peak you avoided titty bars etc since there were executions just about every weekend there. Avoided bars/ areas know as drug hot spots. There will always be collateral / innocents loss anywhere I learned from living in Dallas/ L.A. and now Juarez. Deaths are always 99% related to drug trade in some way. Either selling/buying/ hanging around people who do / places known to distribute. You will hears one in a while stray bullets/ wrong place wrong time scenario but not often. Even when kids are involved it turns out a family member was involved in a way. Why I tell my oldest kids if you ever decide to get involved in drug trade do your family a favor and abandon them. Do not expose them to this shit.

So I Googled the bar to get a reference where it's located here in Juarez... Ejercito Nacional lol... I'm not criticizing the translation, cause it's correct... Just found it hilarious
