Sonora: A kidnapping in the desert

Original video from Twitter

By Sol Prendido Borderland Beat

Sonora, Mexico - Somewhere in the Sonoran desert under a blanket of darkness an individual is being kidnapped. The glare of a trucks headlights is the only illumination that gives us a glimpse of his abduction. Elsewhere within that blackout the hushed whispered voices of men can be heard. Men who quite possibly could’ve saved this individuals life. But chose instead to record what all is happening. Not much is known about this video. Only that a crime was committed. And this could very well have been the last moments of a man’s life before being lead to his death.

  1. So Sol are they going to kidnap him, or he was taken to the desert to finish him off, they did not tie him up, so it seems death is looking.

    1. More than likely the guy was killed. Notice how the woman stood up and walked away? Maybe she set him up. Could’ve been any number of reasons why this happened.

    2. When did get up and walk away? This dude had a nice truck and 4 wheeler on the back of his truck and they wanted it. If they wanted to kill him they wouldn’t of hesitated when he gave resistance. They just want his shit.

  2. How he could save him, without gun (very probably)?

  3. Remarkable how frenzied Sonora is becoming—I thought it a relatively peaceful state compared to Jalisco, B.C. Norte y Sur, or Michoacan.

That short clip looked like a scene out of Netflix’s YANKEE series—only thing missing was Cara Sucia and Yankee Moriarty and their crews shooting it out.

    1. In fact, in that state, wars began in Mexico, along with the state of Baja California, Tijuana and Tamaulipas, but as in Tamaulipas and Tijuana, the wars became violent the news focused more on Tamaulipas and Baja California after The Sinaloa cartel won in the sonorous state. He began to move to other states such as Guerrero, Jalisco, Veracruz and Chihuahua.

  4. This is not a typical express kidnapping. in that ease a person is held as their bank account is drained then released.

    1. Definitely a profitable racket.

  5. I bet the guns clip holds more than enough bullets to kill any of the people with hushed voices! Obviously that would’ve been a big risk on their lives too! So this is perhaps scorn that shouldn’t be passed onto the “hushed” voices

    1. It’s not a “clip;” its proper name is magazine—or “mag” in abbreviated form.

“Clip” is nonsensical Hollyweird [no sic] vernacular.

    2. @1923 hrs.: Spot on post. Too many subscribe to the mendacity of the bought & paid for “mainstream” media machine. Propaganda WORKS—so does deliberate dumbing down of citizens and lack of critical thinking.

    4. @1058 hrs.: I’m not going to “stfu,” mijo. It’d behoove you to engage your brain, read posts, and CRITICALLY THINK before spouting off through that cesspool beneath your nose. Reading comprehension ain’t your strong suit.

Spelling and grammar lessons would assist you greatly as well. Twit.

  8. I am an American who lived in Sonora for many years. I could write ten books about my experiences. Love the mexican people but they are victims of their corrupt government. Most don't make much money and the cost of living is only a little lower than USA. lots of problems, crime, violence. I was victim of much crime. USA not much better. The whole world is in deep trouble.

    1. Hey man I booked a trip to fly from Tijuana to Hermosillo then take a 1.5 hour bus to San Marcos and spend 2 nights Then spend one night in Hermosillo then fly back next day. I'm going with 3 friends. Do you think I'll run into trouble in Hermosillo at night if I want to go clubbing?

    2. You'll be fine, there is cartel in Hermosillo but they don't mess with regular folks or tourtists. But definitely keep your cool if you bump into someone, you have no idea who that person could be. And enjoy all the beautiful women you'll see at the club. Enjoy !!

    3. Hermosillo is relatively safe

    4. Its best to ride with a local that speaks the lingo. You should be fine but then again, any part of Mexico you should have extreme caution and not attract unwanted attention

    5. Be careful, have street smarts, carry a prepaid low cost cellphone, a spare wallet with only enough spending cash, Don't search out drugs, stick to known public places, and have a known iteniary... common sense and street smarts go A LONG WAY...also don't overdue you alcohol consumption and buy your beer bottles closed and open them yourself...And have a good time!

    6. You’ll be fine just make sure to not drink at all if you go clubbing you could have problems with someone trying to rob you or trying to start problems with you & dont go into iffy areas that seem off stay more in the places with more people around.

    7. No problem, Hermosillo is not like that, there's not that kind of violence or crime here, you can go club and do whatever you want.

      I live here.

      Your a dead man walking.
Loo Na jk if the club scene looks weak o wouldn’t go. They recognize out of towners quick. But Hermosillo is a big city. I’m sure your good.

    9. Hermosillo is still prrtty calm for the most part. You should be fine, Ragna and Jakarta are good spots to go. Just be careful not flashing money and getting too far away from friends. There are petty thieves. But for the most part the Cartels are still low key in Hermosillo. Just dont say or do anything stupid. Id be more careful in small towns that are dominated by cartels.

Or one big Russia or Canada? Argentina or Brasil... Ir谩n or Iraq... China or Japan.. Cuba or Hispaniola... North Korea or South Korea...

    1. I live in a small town in Minnesota. Population 2000. Nothing but trees and lakes. Summer's are great, winter's are harsh! Drugs? You never see it if you're not using it. Murder rate? Maybe one every ten years. Pretty happy with my location. My next relocation will be to the cemetery.
