The son-in-law of El Cholo, leader of the Nueva Plaza Cartel, is arrested

Char for Borderland Beat from Milenio

Nueva Plaza Cartel are former CJNG associates who disagreed the way Mencho worked and this started a bloody internal war in Jalisco since 2017.

National Guard troops captured him during a surveillance operation in Mariano Otero

In Zapopan, members of the National Guard (GN) in coordination with the Metropolitan Operation Bases, managed to arrest Pedro Giovanni "N", who claimed to be the son-in-law to the leader of the Nueva Plaza Cartel, Carlos Enrique González Martínez, aka El Cholo.

Because of danger, the 32-year-old man was taken to the headquarters of the delegation of the Attorney General's Office (FGR). The route was guarded by the Armed Forces, as well as by elements of the Public Security Commission of Zapopan. The alleged offender was captured on Mariano Otero and Can Mayor avenue.

It was 6:25 pm this Saturday. The elements made a surveillance tour south of the municipality of Zapopan when they detected a male who when he saw the uniformed men, tried to flee, but was intercepted. Upon checking the car, they detected that in the back seat on the right side, there were two plastic bags that apparently contained drugs known as crystal. They were between 300 and 500 grams, it was estimated. A scale was also located.

The man was traveling in a Nissan Versa vehicle, in black and 2017 model. In his first statement, Pedro Giovanni “N” confirmed being the son-in-law of the criminal leader El Cholo, which caused corporations to remain alert to threats that apparently they received from the criminal group Cartel Nueva Plaza.

The units of several corporations circulated in convoys and reinforced the barracks. However, it was not the first time that Pedro Giovanni "N" was arrested. On May 23, 2012, an administrative offense in the Jardines de la Cruz neighborhood led him to learn about the separations of the Guadalajara Public Security Police Station.

On June 8, 2015, elements of the Zapopan Police arrested him for administrative failure and carrying prohibited items, although the type of items he carried was not specified in the report. A year later, the son-in-law of the leader of the Nueva Plaza Cartel, Carlos Enrique González Martínez, aka El Cholo, was captured in Tonalá for scandalizing on public roads. This happened on August 14, 2016.

Almost three years later, the son-in-law of El Cholo is apprehended again, which caused police corporations to remain alert to the threats they reportedly received from the criminal group Cartel Nueva Plaza. The units circulated in convoy and reinforced the barracks.

  7. What started the war in jalisco is that cholo killed an important Colombian partner to mencho and mencho ordered cholo dead because of it. Cholo had no choice but to try to survive by teaming up with mayo. GET IT RIGHT!!!

    1. Did Cholo know how tight Mencho was with Colombiano? Or why did Cholo want el Colombiano killed?

Big decision w even bigger consequences. I wouldn't want to beef with Mencho, my crew isn't trained yet like Sicario 006.

    4. War is not because of addicts or pushers, it is always politicians and businessmen allied with cops and melitary trying to exploit everybody some quick how, egging lowly Gangbangers against each other.

    5. 8:54 you are correct. Political figures are more to blame than even the addicts. The laws make it profitable for things to continue the way they are. Drug addicts do not determine that, and it certainly shouldn’t be a crime to have a chemical dependency. People use for many reasons, but the addicts usually because they are trying to escape something. Perhaps education should be thrown in to blame for not teaching young minds to adapt and overcome emotion
