Policemen are ambushed
by an armed group at a gas station in Guaymas
SONORA
A group of armed men
riddled several Municipal Police officers in Guayma s, leaving at least one
officer dead and the rest seriously injured. The employee of the service
station where the crime occurred also became a collateral victim.
The attack occurred
shortly before 5:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. Mexico City time) at El Rey Gas Station,
located at the northern exit of Guaymas, on Caborca Street and Garcia Lopez
Boulevard on Loma Linda Hill.
This would be the
second attack by organized crime hitmen against the Guaymas Tactical Operations
Group, where five elite police officers were killed last October and another
four were seriously injured when an armed men convoy ambushed them in full
center of this tourist and commercial port.
In addition, on
Thursday of last week the Comptroller of the City of Guaymas,
Daniel Morales Pardini was assassinated. He served as head of Municipal Public Safety when the
first armed attack came against the Tactical Operations Group.

ReplyDeleteMan I miss Rocky Point. When I lived in Tucson, I used to go all the time. I moved from that area 7 years ago and have not went back since. I too wonder if it is safe anymore. I met some real good people there.
