Radio Host Assassinated In Tabasco

Throw Away for Borderland Beat--La Jornada

This morning, journalist Jesús Ramos Rodríguez was killed, he was a host of radio program "Nuestra Región Hoy" in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, in the Region of the Rivers

According to the first reports, the host was shot dead in the company of a local politician while he was having breakfast in a hotel restaurant, located near the radio station where he worked.

It's been reported that the breakfast would also be attended by the mayor of Emiliano Zapata, Carlos Alberto Pascual Pérez Jasso, but he had not yet arrived at the site.

According to witnesses, the person who fired point-blank at the journalist was already waiting for him at the scene, but in another version it is reported that he was executed by three people who came to the site to finalize it.

The news of the assassination of Ramos Rodríguez, popularly known as "Chuchín" was announced by his partner Alfredo Naranjo, who is in charge of the radio program on Saturday and Sunday.

Head of the state’s department of the Mexican Interior Ministry Marco Rosendo Medina Filigrana has expressed condolences over the death.

  1. Tabasco is my favourite hot sauce. Hopefully this murder doesn’t halt production.............my comment was obviously fake but this is how most people north of Mexico would think. Pathetic how a country so close to the US and Canada in terms of geography is so corrupt and tainted.

    3. Equally pathetic that our mainstream media virtually ignores the daily slaughter, murder and mayhem going on there, whilst the slightest sneeze in Iran or Afganistan is front page news every fuckin week!

    8. The US has it’s faults, and has come along way in the last 200 years.

For those idiots blaming the US, a country that’s has helped liberate other counties from tyranny and led in many technological advances for mankind, along with quick humanitarian response to natural disasters around the world; get the fuck out if you believe the US is soooooooo “Corrupt.”

I’m sure a person waiting in line to get in, or waiting for the coyote to sneak in, does not share your view of America.

    9. Surprise, surprise. Another oblivious and egocentric American telling people on the world (note emphasis) wide web to "get the fuck out" of the US. It may come as a surprise for him that the majority of people are already the fuck out of there.

  4. Leon Trotsky was assassinated in Mexico City after the Bolshevik revolution. He was in charge of communist disinformation for Stalin. Stalin believed that if you controlled the press, you controlled the minds of the people. Trotsky had his own printing press on the train he traveled on. Later, after becoming cross with stalin, he fled to Mexico. If you control the press you control their their way of thinking. Thats why cartels do damage control. They are no different than Stalin.

  7. Pathetic how ignorant you are at your own life. Look at your president. THE PERSONIFICATION of corruption and lies with more power and money, surrouned by others not much better. Mexico's government is nothing to brag about but the U.S. could be so much better at being a leader.

  9. Another journalist killed, seems someone did not want him reporting, the truth about curruption. Could have been inside job, Mayor did not show up, he probably had him killed, since most are in cullusion with criminals.

  10. The cartels run Mexico. The new president of Mexico by announcing there will be no hunt for or arrests of 'capos' the violence and terror will intensify. The situation appears hopeless for the average citizen.

  11. The US 100 Billion dollar a year drug consumption has not only destabilized mexico but all central america by creating Powerful criminal organizations that have more money than the state governments they inhabit. That is why we are getting so many immigrants from all those countries. Yet Americans blame Mexico for being so full of crime and violence instead of blaming our drug consuption as the problem.

    1. Criminal organizations exist everywhere. It's when government turns a blind eye to these criminals is when trust is eroded.
America like many countries have a consumption problem. Its Mexico's government who are enriching themselves because of it. Not its citizens.

    2. Your blind you don't see the whole picture...the cartels have many countries they ship to. It's not only the USA.

    3. @El Perin de Tamp Cartels do ship product to many other countries (that how CJNG got off, after all), but the US is by far the #1 drug consumer on Earth. A truly degenerate addict haven in every way, shape and form.

    4. It’s always easier to blame somebody else. Mexico also has a kidnapping, extortion, and feminicide epidemic. Is that also USA’s fault?

  12. Why kill a defenseless reporter? Bet you all the Mayor, has something to do with it.
