Sinaloa Cartel Dominated Mx City Airport, Beltran Leyva-Toluca

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Vanguardia

So large were the quantities of drugs that the Cartels moved , that the same federal authorities have not been able to size them up. They also continue operating in different airports.

While the Sinaloa Cartel seized control of the International Airport of Mexico City , the Beltrán Leyva did that of Toluca. Although they still operate, their best years to receive and send cargoes through these channels was between 2010 and 2013, intelligence sources comment.

Under the shelter and protection of police commanders and airport workers, the Sinaloa cartel, with Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán and Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada , smuggled heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and cash.

According to the sources consulted, between the aforementioned years, elements of the Federal Police assigned to the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM) received huge amounts of money from the Sinaloa cartel, which made them millionaires.

They mentioned that in June 2012, when the Federal Police confronted each other in Terminal 2 of the AICM, it was because that day they were going to distribute a large amount of money, in US dollars, that Sinaloa had paid; but there were disagreements in the distribution, which led to the shooting, with a balance of three dead. The federalists involved operated so that the cocaine could be sent to Europe.

The official version was that uniformed people carried out research works related to drug trafficking. It was a network of officials who were involved with the organization.

In the investigation, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) detected that shipments for "El Mayo" came from Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil. They arrived at the International Airport of Mexico City and from there they could go to the United States, Spain or Italy.

To detect the network of officials at the Airport of Mexico City, United States, through the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has also collaborated with the Mexican authorities; however, the precinct continues to be one of the main points of drug trafficking.

  1. Gente Nueva Special Forces has a mini base at the Mexico City Airport. We keep 4 Blackhawk helicopters there. One was used to pick up El Chapo when he escaped the second time.We also have a few Predator drones that we use for recon missions in Jalisco searching for El Mencho.

This is also where my team practices HALO jumps. We even got a C130 . If the trial against El Senor does not go his way ,We are ready go rescue him.
A Special Ops military Gente Nueva/Antrax unit has been created with the specific task of rescuing and extracting our people in enemy controlled territory and has been training with members of SAS,CAG and Rainbow 6 for this specific mission.

    9. Michoacanos and Sinaloa were good allies but the chinolas snitch too much. After chapo there will not be onother capo from there with that much power. Sinaloa is a mess with everyone fighting each other with no real boss. Everyone wants to be boss and that's the reason mencho went his own route and saw their weakness. Cds was once the most powerful with matazetas cleaning plazas with cds flag, now cjng is the most powerful. All the snitching on each other is going to make cjng stronger.

  6. Glad to see this exposure of correlation / collaboration between government and drug trafficking.
A narco state that Mexico has become.
Despite the efforts to curtail drug supply, its government who bear a majority of responsibilities. Its through these sophisticated networks that the Majority of drugs get across.

Question remains? Will America confront this continuous epidemic with an ally whose persistence to smuggling drugs into the US is neverending? Added with the financial support Mexico receives from the US to combat this problem?

I have yet to hear of a high ranking Mexican official arrested while in office for trafficking? Much less, after the fact!

Immunity goes a long way for those Mexican politicos. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE IF A BETTER OUTCOME WERE TO COME.

    2. E42 I think this Chapo trial is bringing this out of the closet.Must be so embarrassing to those Mexican officials but they are being thrown to the wolves in another country where it is safe to do so (and O the UN is really pating attention to Mexico haha).Nothing will change because of the trial but maybe in the not too distant future down the road and with AMLO holding the reins????

    3. Hope so fellow bb commentators.
This needs to stop. At best stemmed to those independent traffickers and not that of government collaborations.

  12. I took a Volaris flight about nine years ago into Toluca , I remember how astonishing it was seeing hundreds of private jets.I figured this airport is closer to the new business hub of Santa Fe,the old landfill. But it still did not make sense. When I disembarked, paid my adauna for the TV , air conditioner, small electronics. It dawned on me, Good Ol' Narco Politico!

    1. And yet pharmaceutical companies are raking in the cash by overpricing drug treatment.
The cost of drug s for treatment of overdose can be as little as a nickel for a lifesaving dose to produce. Yet charge an arm and a leg to please shareholders.

    2. No doubt E! We have a cartel in America made up of lobbies and elected politicians that make sure the pharma pigs extort the highest pricing in the world from Americans - and this raquet is protected by law!
I drive to NL once a month to buy a 30 day supply of Lyrica and Farmacia Guadalajara and Farmacia Similares is 370 pesos for what Costco’s pharmacy charges over $900 for one month supply.
