Víctor Manuel Félix Félix, “El Señor”, Pleads Guilty in San Diego

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: SD Union

San Diego, California — A Mexican drug dealer who is a member of the "El Chapo'' family, has plead guilty to drug charges in a San Diego court.

Mexican Víctor Manuel Félix Félix, consuegra of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán,  plead guilty of conspiracy to import cocaine to the United States and money laundering, charges that represent a minimum of ten years in prison.

The defendant, one of the financial operators of the Sinaloa Cartel, accepted his fault in a federal court in San Diego, California before Judge Marilyn Huff, who told him that the sentence" could be the equivalent of a life sentence for a person who is 60 years old ".

The judge made him see that although both the US Government and his lawyer issued a recommendation on his possible sentence, it could be between 20 and 25 years in prison.

Despite this, Felix Felix, alias "El Senor or "The Lord", who during the hearing used an electronic translator, reiterated his desire to plead guilty.

In Mexico "El Señor" was held in the Federal Center for Social Readaptation (Cefereso) Number 1, El Altiplano -in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico-, after being detained on March 18, 2011, and is considered the operator in the money laundering of the Sinaloa Cartel.

His son is Víctor Manuel Félix Beltrán, alias "El Vic", identified by the authorities as the main financial operator of the children of Guzmán Loera, and also the son-in-law of "El Chapo", as well as the person allegedly responsible for the money laundering obtained by the transfer of drugs to the USA.

The judge informed him that once he completes his sentence in the US " it is almost a fact that you will be deported to Mexico," where he still has criminal charges pending.

At the end of the hearing, his lawyer Guadalupe Valencia clarified that his client "is not cooperating with the government," nor does he intend to do so.

"Of what he pleaded guilty today is to being  part of this conspiracy for a very short period and certain specific acts, he did not own the drugs or the money, but he was a member of the conspiracy and there large amounts of money and drugs, " said Valencia.

Victor Felix Felix was arrested in 2011 after organizing two shipments of cocaine from Ecuador to Mexico for an undercover agent of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Felix Felix would have paid $4.5 million dollars in cash to an undercover agent to help him transport drugs and cash, according to a statement from the US Attorney's Office.

"El Señor", whose daughter would be married to one of Guzmán Loera's children, according to the Prosecutor's Office, was arrested along with several of his collaborators after an operation involving the authorities of Mexico and Ecuador.

This guilty plea comes a day after a judge in New York denied Guzmán Loera's request to postpone the start of the trial and confirm the start of the same pair on November 5.

The defendant, one of the financial operators of the Sinaloa Cartel, accepted his guilt in a federal court in San Diego before Judge Marilyn Huff. The judge explained that once he completes his sentence in the US “It is almost certain he will be deported to Mexico,” where he still has criminal charges pending.

  1. I believe that he knew if got deported back to Mexico, that was it for him. Pleading guilty against his lawyer's wishes at least keeps him fairly protected in USA prison. Now whether he snitches on Chapo? His lawyer and himself, said definitely not. We'll see.

    1. Why would they kill him in Mexico if he didn’t snitch? I would assume the Chapitos would show him love if he held it down and was solid. Then again, there isn’t loyalty in this game.

    3. Hmm so he’s one of Sinaloa’s & Chapos main financial operators. Will see if the reduced sentence comes after Guzmán trials is over. Mayito and Chino got away with ridiculously light sentences. What if he pullled a Sammy The Bull Gravano or what if he’s Mexico’s version of Whitey Bulger. All these large Sinaloa busts in record scale over the previous years! You know he’s missing that Beauty Queen & his daughters. Just a theory....
