3 arrested from the Cartel Beltran Leyva

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Milenio article by Ruben Musso

Subject Matter: Beltran Leyva Organization
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Eleuterio Burgos Lara, Don Tello, and the brothers Sergio Alberto and Ulises Burgos Campo, who work for Chapo Isidro will be house in the Aguaruto penitentiary, Sinaloa, for three months whilst the investigation against them is concluded.

A Federal Judge heard charges against three members of the criminal organization headed by Fausto Isidro Meza Flores, El Chapo Isidro. Meza Flores assumed control of the Beltran Leyva brothers cartel, and are considered the group creating most of the violence in the corridor that goes from the city of Guamuchil to Gausave and Los Mochis in Sinaloa, they are also attributed to acts of violence in Mazatlan and Nayarit.

During a search conducted at an address in Sinaloa, personnel of the SEIDO of the PGR, in coordination with the Army and Federal Police detained Eleuterio Burgos Lara, Don Tello, and the brothers Sergio Alberto and Ulises Burgos Campos.

Federal forces personnel secured six vehicles, cell phones and computer equipment, a firearm, three gramera scales, 44,500 pesos, 67 wraps of white powder and packages containing opium gum.

The detainees were presented by SEIDO personnel before the Judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center, in Culiacan, Sinaloa. After linking the charges to them, they were granted 3 months to complete the complementary investigation and determined preventative detention in the Cefereso of Aguaruto.

From that prison, Francisco Javier Zazueta Rosales, Pancho Chimal, escaped in March of 2017, identified as responsible for ordering and participating in the ambush in which five soldiers died in Culiacan, Sinaloa, on September 30th, 2016; one month after having escaped, elements of the Marines shot him dead after a confrontation.

Pancho Chimal was the security chief of Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, El Chapito, son of the capo of  Joaquin El Chapo Guzman On the same day of the escape, Juan Jose Esparragoza Monzon, El Negro, son of capo Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno, El Azul and three more high ranking members of the Sinaloa cartel escaped.

  2. So Chapo Isidro is considered one of the most influential drug lords in his region of the country. But I never hear about him expanding his territory. Does anyone know if he prefers to keep his area of influence limited, or has his constant war with the Sinaloa Cartel prevented him from expanding?

    1. There is a non aggression pact with CDS,which means he can operate everywhere in mexico. there is no need to make his presence known, he can operate everywhere with his contacts He is respected by all, theres not alot of people who would go to war with him . on one side he has the zetas and on the other his boss hector beltran and the respect of his rivals

    2. BLO do not have the firepower from before if they were to wage war they will struggle so for the moment it's I don't mess with yours so don't mess with mine. In nayarit they are defending their turf from Cjng

    3. Chapo isidro tried to expand his influence but his cartel clashed with cjng and you already know what happened next. There is a few stories from a few years back here on BB

    4. From what it seems like he rules his territory with an iron fist and doesn't really seem to interested in invading other plazas. If it ain't broke why fix it?

    5. Last I heard was a Debate article saying Chapo Isidro had connected with Cesar Carrillo Leyva (NCDJ) and los Damasos to battle for Navolato and Culiacan. Since the downfall of los Damasos, there hasn’t been mention of Chapo Isidro trying to expand his area of influence. Also, I’m not sure of the state of relations are between Chapo Isidro BLO (Guasave, Guamuchil) and Nayarit BLO (supposedly under the command of the son of either H2 or H9).

    6. Flores is pretty much in all the Pacifico it’s just that the blo are getting hit by the government like a mf.

    7. He has his hometown of Guasave and northern sinaloa on lock, some of mazatlan and nayarit, as well as running drugs through parts of sonora, thats plenty if you ask me. BLO also operates in some southern mexican states and Nuevo Leon with lower profiles..You need your area of influence on lock down so you can feel safe operating wherever you may be but all you really need are safe houses in mexico/u.s. border states to hide drugs that come from Central and south america so if he has that, theres no need for more mexican territory. He’s probably trying to expand his US sales territory.. But fighting over territory against CDS is pointless since he knows he’ll never successfully take it, although he has put up a few battles, it costs a lot of money to maintain a constant war that would only cause more attention to himself, so he’s smart. He’ll be the last big boss the BLO brothers personally raised, trained and that the BLO will see and he is aware of that, so he’s trying to keep a low profile and enjoy life while he can.. All of his main players seem to be getting captured or killed so he probably feels the government very close on his heels..

  5. Escaped? Rather, escorted by officials for release!
High profile individuals such as these have the influential means to do what they always do. "Avoid detention and prosecution".

  11. Chapo Isidro is now partners with la Bestia who is a big caller for Guzman. Chapo Guzm√°n wanted to fix problems with Isidro before getting caught but Isidro wanted las bestia dead or out of the picture but there was no way Chapo was getting rid of him. Hes the one in charge of everything that comes from the mountains and across the border. La bestia had problems with Isidro for years until recently there was an operation that was for Isidro that he was not expecting and lost a lot of men so the bestia sent his men over to help out and rescue him and they accomplished that. After that night they have been good and everything has been smooth around guasave, mocorito, Los Mochis, guamuchil, and las higuera.

    2. @11:54 i dont know anything about la bestia but if isidro wanted him dead, thats pretty wierd that bestia would send men to help isidro instead of letting him get caught or killed followed by a big party for the capture of the rival boss.. im from nearby mocorito and your right, there hasn’t been any isidro related incidents lately.. Years ago when emilio cazares was here emilios people and isidros would have constant gunfights in mocorito and badiraguato, but now cazares is in the San Diego Fed’s and things have been much smoother lately because cazares was all problems. Locals didnt like him because he was a problem creator, wasnt respectful towards anyone, and had locals pretty much fear him instead of having them on his side (power got to his head) but other narcos didnt want to step in because he was chapo guzmans compadre. In Sinaloa you already know that if your not a respectful narco (towards others), your not going to last long in the business...Sinaloa will always have mafia related killings for one reason or another but violence in mocorito has indeed gone down..
