Murder of 'Grupo Rudo' Member captured on restaurant security video

By Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat

Note: This is the full video released to public, action begins around 0:40

On Thursday night, a man murdered with shots at point-blank range outside a restaurant-bar in the Centrito Valle, in San Pedro, Nuevo León.

The victim was identified as attorney Sabás Canavati Dahuabe.

Moment he looks up and sees his killer
He is also a member of the "Grupo Rudo", which in recent years was in charge of clearing  out  criminals in  the municipality of San Pedro, was executed last night by two gunmen, while sitting and visiting with an unidentified woman and man, who were unhurt in the attack.

Reforma reported that the dead man is Sabás Canavati Dahube, a 28-year-old lawyer and currently engaged in real estate work.

In 2010, Canavati was arrested by the Marina and linked to the so-called "Rudo" group, organized by the Mayor of San Pedro, Mauricio Fernández, at the start of his past three-year period 2009-2012, to “clean the city” and combat insecurity in the municipality.

At that time it was said that he was arrested as part of an operation against those linked to the "Rudos".

The attack last night was recorded at 11PM  in the outdoor area tables of El Mapache restaurant-bar in the Mississippi River between Rio Grijalva and Tamazunchale River.

  1. If you have problems you better always be ready. He didn't expect a thing. Probably thought what he did 8 years ago was in the past nothing to do with the present.

    1. I have a question that maybe you can help me with why is it that nobody else of any country is scared of security and surveillance cameras they Act as it doesn’t even matter. And nothing ever comes out of the tapes. My cousin shot a man and a red light and was located 12 blocks away making a right turn I read and cut my camera flash and he is tied to the murder but these people are on tape killing and nothing happens why don’t even have videos

    2. @124am.to be honest is mexico and sometimes the police are in on it. Corruption. In the USA is different they investigate but depending on who got killed is the amount of effort they put into it. Besides a good attorney and money makes a huge difference.

    3. The thing is that Mexico does not allocate resources to investigating that stuff. They just recently upped their investigation on kidnappings, which I applaud them for. Also, alot of these employees of the state rather turn a blind eye then not having any at all...

  2. The unidentified young man and women were for a definite purpose present there. Observe: they were to engage him o they were negotiating something with him. I appeared for interview at Bangkok Israeli Embassy, Oceana Tower II, and I was relocated to the same task.

    3. For you willitos doubting anything anyone may say about themselves, you would never make it as a blogger. It is not a practice I live by, If I did I would never never be presented with a nexus to people in the life. I recall when a guy claimed to be a former cellie of Mochomo. You guys rake him over the coals, I didn't. I encouraged him to email me. We exchanged email a few times and I contacted someone a part of the case who had not heard of the guy but said he would ask Mochomo.

He called me back the next day....and what he said what 100% true. not only that, he was one of only a couple of people allowed to visit Mochomo, and was/is close to Mochomo's family.

I was able to get some good info to create posts with.

What 9:38 is saying is absolutely feasible. Much more so that someone posting the were a former cellie of a top narco. Don't be so narrow minded. We have had Mexican agents contact us and send info before.

Life is a crazy roller coaster and sometimes you take the same ride with a person you never knew you'd meet.
I personally feel Sinaloa is the first huge power player in the narcotics trade as early probably as the 40s... MAZATLAN was apperantly well know long ago as a drug hub. That being said I personally have my opinion that the Federations attempt to take over the Southern Texas Border and causing the Taumalipas/Laredo Mafia (also around since the 40s) to create the paramilitary wing Los Zetas who truthfully at it's peak level of effeciency could have taken Mexico over if it had just won the people over and not have abused them. That being said not to discredit any individuals in their line of business, but Los Beltrans move to bring the Zetas to their backyard was very strategic but also a desperate and something an individual with out testicular fortitude would have done. All is fair in war I suppose And again these are my personal conclusions, and I want people to listen to this
      https://youtu.be/Gq5WU9kiFK4
Apperantly the top players in the cartels can contact each other ... They just like to send crash dummies to do their missions for them...

Mean while cheerleaders are fighting for scraps that the mafia is flicking off the table as entertainment.

Damn I went and saw that video !!!!

One of the sicarios has to be trained in firearms. Honestly he is shooting like a cop . You know how Piggy's do it all together with back up or not at all.

I'm sure sold Perdido or some one that knows anything can say with certainty that one of the guys has some clandestine or official training ... Straight up shooting like a piggy.

  14. Minor nitpick: it's Grupo Rudo, not Rudo Grupo. I also wouldn't translate it as Rudo Group since Rudo isn't some sort of name, in this context it translates to "tough". So it'd be something like Tough Group.

    1. Well minor nitpiker... :) you are correct of course. Spanish = noun before adjective and English adjective before noun.

in english Group Tough in Eng Tough Group....thanks

    2. You tranate the adjectIves and names of things, Not the names of the cartels or "The Rudo Group" same as you do not translate the FBI, CIA, NSA OR US, but in Spanish it used to be EE UU Estados Unidos, sometimes the nitpicking is soon visceral we should just let it be, to make it worth your while see on YouTube

I'd say that girl knew it was coming. The whole time the video is running she is looking that way and just before the gunmen run up she puts her phone down and looks the opposite way, then she doesn't even move when he runs up and starts shooting, she only ran after there was a break in firing and the 2nd guy started shooting
