8 Killed in narco gun attack at popular Playa del Carmen club

Gunfire was reported through social networks by users who attended a music festival in a Playa del Carmen nightclub, creating panic among visitors at the popular go to spot for foreigners.

Details are still sketchy,  although media reports that the narco shootout occurred at the Blue Parrot resulting  in at least 8 killed.

From Twitter:

"People came to the club and opened fire . Four, five dead and several wounded. Stay in your damn hotel if you are here in the BPM "wrote DJ Jack Revill, known as Jackmaster, referring to the festival that was held in the club Blue Parrot.

Update:  People on the scene described it as a narco shooting.  However police report it was a lone gunman who had a disagreement within the club.  Since this is a tourist area any report from police may be suspected to shield the truth if it would damage tourism.  Hard to say.  12 are reported injured, including two Americans.

What's the difference between Mexico, Iraq, and the United States? Maybe at present Iraq has less violence of the three because the U.S. has a lot of mass shootings among other violent acts.

    5. I think the only difference is that the soldiers of fortune and their secret prisons have not been exposed yet.
By the way, marine general Mad Dog Mattis conquered iraq with his very able marines, and then surrendered it to private intelligence contractors, he sure earned his appointment to secretary of defense, on the shoulders, the hunger, blood sweat and tears of his soldiers, some of whom still make fun of Lt. Gen. CHAOS for "Colonel Has An Outstanding Solution"

    3. 1:28 I agree. it was probably for not paying their dues to the narco's. This has to stop at all levels in Mexico so they can move forward. The economy in Mexico is getting worse and the peso is falling. These types of things cannot help. Extortion against avocado growers and everything else. What a shame.

  18. Media is now reporting that this attack had nothing to do with narcos. More likely it was in retaliation for a customer having been expelled from the club or another personal vendetta.

    1. 4:24-I don't think mexico wants to say the truth because it would hurt their big golden goose Cancun.Of course they aren't going to say that they sold the plaza to the narcos so they can exhort.I think the Canadian organizers got approached at some point and told they had to pay piso and just blew the guy off and didn't take it seriously because they didn't know that that's how it operates down there.Make no mistake this will effect tourism but the hoardes will still come but the last 2 'decent' places like Cancun and Los Capos [pun intended] are on their last legs as 'safe' resorts although that event was a once a year foreign event so not as likely to be repeated.EPN must be squirming. I read today that a gov office in Cancun got shot up and 3 people dead so Cancun is no longer immune to the violence.

    1. Well, if this famous place was too much competition, now it is no more, that helps other not so famous or resourceful joints, it is soo not right that foreign gangsters come and rob the mexican gangsters of their shit just because they paid their mordidas and kickbacks to the mexican politicians.

  27. Zetas vieja escuela are responsible for the attack the owner of the bar was not joining alliances with them instead the Bar owner is creating an alliance with the New group called ( Los Combos) ex golfos, zetas, cjng and los pelones. 2 small time groups fighting for control of the PLAZA!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Some cartels work different the smaller more vicious cartels mostly do these attacks to show the power of each group has and to (HEAT) UP THE PLAZA! In reality these kind of attacks do the cartels no harm nor does it affect business. Now and days they save men power and instead create these kind of attacks instead of all out WAR which on this case won't happen they will probably take each other out 1 by 1 . But Rumor is that a BIG WAR IS COMING FROM 2 BIG MAJOR CARTELS IN MEXICO.
