Veracruz: Six Bodies Left Inside A Van

By: Noé Zavaleta | Translated by Valor for Borderland Beat

Xalapa, Veracruz— The bodies of six men were abandoned inside a van at the side of the Isla-Santiago Tuxtla State Road, at the height of La Ceibilla Bridge.

This new act of violence in southern Veracruz was reported by farmers in the area, which gave notice to the delegation of the ministry of public security and the regional state prosecutor.

Employees of the directorate of forensic services and of the forensic medical service carried out the removal of the bodies which were inside a red Ford Windstar, with Tabasco state license plates WSR-25-87.

Until this afternoon, the victims had not been identified, it was only disclosed that their hands were tied up with duct tape and various beatings and signs of torture.

Veracruz violence escalated to such an extent that just during the weekend, 23 violent deaths were reported, allegedly linked to organized crime.

According to the attorney general’s office and the attorney general of the state, since the start of 2016, there exists a struggle between the criminal cells of Los Zetas and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel for the movement of drugs and control of unlawful activities.

    1. Good question.. cjng has been there for awhile now and took alot of veracruz but who knows. It's either zetas or cjng, golfos are not that strong anymore but then again zetas are fighting themselves. It has to be cjng.

    4. Depends...CJNG is making in-roads in strategic cities; ports like Heroica Veracruz, Coatzacoalcos, Túxpam, and cities along highways at the state lines like Orizaba...Zetas still have holdover presences in all major cities from the Fidel Herrera and Javier Duarte days...CDG's presence in Tampico bleeds down from Puebla Viejo and Tampico Alto to Naranjos and Túxpam. In general, Zetas wield the most control in the northern half of the state, but are losing ground to CDG expansions. In the southern portion of the state Los Z have been fighting off CJNG for 3 years, and with the change of government, appears to have become the state's new target.

    5. So the Z hold more presence in Veracruz? So the most important plazas in Veracruz the Z (CDN) have them. But they are in a war against the CJNG in the southern area of Veracruz? And the Z (CDN) are still fighting the CDG in Veracruz too?

And what about the CDG and CJNG are they fighting too against each other in Veracruz?

    6. Whats up with that comment of los antrax they have never been in a firefight and won the only time ever heard of them was when cjng and antrax left a manta saying there was going to be a cleaning of zetas.witch was effevtive and ended with the life of a high ranking zeta last year but that was it cjng has the most power and there is no infighting like los zetas. By the way remember when cjng kill the leader of jarochos unidos and cds said they were going to send there men what happen there they most likly p*ssyed out after knowing cjng was not going to back off. Cjng is the most stable cartel in mexico not even cds is that stable because the infighting of mini lic vs mayos

    2. El Sol - I've noticed that also in social media. I don't understand it. They laugh at others' misfortune and then fawn all over people that destroy and kill. It really unnerves me.

    3. People are just glad it is not them in the graves, they do not imagine they or their loved ones will be next, part of the reason is the blackout of news, not everybody has access to the internet in mexico, but there are too many that do, grab'em

  6. CJNG grew with governor javier duarte de ochoa, "la marrana parada" since before he was governor, under Z1#2 governorship, fidel herrera beltran ni las tres se dio, but now they are enemies, and Lydia Cacho's pederastia Hall of Famer, robber of government resources miguel angel yunes linares has no plans to help as new governor...
Poor Veracruz now it is just another inpoverished national shame in debt and murder victim, thanks to the motherfacking politicians.

  7. Shaggy second in command of the old school Z and Tadeo where killed by the marines yesterday night in Allende, Nuevo Leon. This has to be a big hit for the old school zetas, also last week the top boss of the CDN "Matamoros" got captured in Santa Catrina along with his cell days after Comandante Cachetes of the CDN also got captured in Monterrey. Seems that since Kiko got captured a lot of members have been captured also the found a clandestine grave in Coahuila with 600s body remains, seems Kiko is singing very good the rancheras to the DEA!

  10. There should be 3 cartels in Mexico. CDS on the left, CDJ up the middle and CDG on the right. The Zetas should return to there subordinate postion in CDG as armed enforcers.
