Mexico Victims Discover 75 Mass Graves in Veracruz, Rebuke Authorities

The mass graves were discovered by a group of victims' relatives
Family members of disappeared persons in east Mexico have discovered 75 mass graves in a month in a stark demonstration of the incapacity -- or unwillingness -- of authorities to determine the fate of thousands of citizens that have gone are missing in the country.

The Solecito Collective of Veracruz (Colectivo Solecito de Veracruz) found the mass graves in Colinas de Santa Fé, an urban area of Veracruz city that borders the port facility there, the organization's coordinator Lucía de los Ángeles told RadioFórmula.

About 90 members of the collective, all relatives of disappeared persons, began their search on August 3, based on information from anonymous informants, Animal Político reported. So far, eight of the 75 mass graves have been exhumed by Federal Police technicians and 28 bodies have been found, De los Ángeles said.

The collective noted that this may turn out to be the biggest mass grave discovery ever made by citizens in Mexico.

Asked by RadioFórmula what the government was doing to find bodies of the disappeared, De los Ángeles responded:

"They want to hide and deny [the graves]. We want to find [them]. We put all the effort in, we prepared ourselves with our own resources, we bought tools. We brought specialists in from Iguala, Guerrero, two people came, and we worked with the entire collective and achieved this result."
De los Ángeles, whose son disappeared three years ago, said the authorities want to ignore the problem because they bear some responsibility for it.

    1. Amen Ralph...I feel for the Mexican people. Both the Mexican and American govt's are at most fault. If they wanted to, all theyd have to do is send a few AMERICAN special forces teams in, and inside a month could completely wipe out all Cartels. But that won't happen. Too much money. The govt's can't sell the shit themselves, so they let the Cartels operate. That crazy ass Filipino prez is actually doing it the right way....just wipe out everyone in the game. Users, Street dealers, capos, kingpins, and dirty pigs, and politicians. No trials, no bullshit. Just cut em down. Sure there's collateral damage. But way less than how it's going now.

    2. 4:29-That sounds about right.I wondered also who was in those graves. Some could be kidnapping victims too.I also think a lot of them could be migrants from Central America.Only in Mexico:I've never heard of an employer killing a employee because he didn't want to pay him. That just shows total impunity, because they can get away with it.Like the new trucks they drive they don't pay for it,they steal it.The gasoline at the pumps, they don't pay for it,they threaten the gas bar attendant or it's part of the cartel business tax but they sure expect everybody else to pay. This has gone way too far.Maybe some more gov officials need to be disappeared before this is actually taken seriously.I think there will come a time where state and federal officials will actually have to stop accepting bribes for them to operate and really have to shut them down under pressure from the US of course helping the process along. So very sad situation.

    3. Or maybe some of them were being forced into illegal activities and they refused. Plata o plomo

    4. A friend of mine here in Chicago had a relative found in one of these graves. His cousins husband was headed to the border by bus from Guanajuato to try and cross illegally and that's the last thing they knew. This was about 6 years ago. Dental records confirmed that he was in one of these graves. My buddy and his cousin suspect that Zetas got to him and told him to work for them. As he was a great dad, hard worker and would never do such a thing, he refused and paid the price for it. Their reason for believing this was due to people telling them this as they searched for him near the border and on the route from Guanajuato to the border. pretty damn sad

    5. @El Rojo Grande. I am not sure what you are "Amen Ralph about other than his sympathy for the dead and their families. The rest of your tirade on wipe out all narcos, users, traffickers, dealers etc. without a trial - just kill all of them and if innocents die it is just too bad, had nothing to do with what Ralph said. Do you really think Mexico would be better off with a dictator like "The Punisher".

    6. These big loads make it to the border because they are being escorted by corrupt government employee's of some level. I know of huge loads being escorted out with government soldiers. Once they are dropped off in the city from the grower, the new buyer then pays more government entities to get them to the border. The ones that are caught are not able to get that protection or failed to pay for it. You cannot get a government to stop it all as it is how these people in government positions survive. Their real pay comes in the form of corruption from the lowly vialiadad clear to the top. In Chihuahua big doners put in a lot of money for schools. the governor turned around and put all that money into the large new and costly justice and crime building in El Centro. That is the new head quarters for corruption. I was just there a week ago. Not only are they on the take, but they make sure that the women they hire are a pleasure to look at. If you are going to rape and pillage your people might as well as have a great view in your workplace while doing it. Would one ever report these loads coming out. Not anyone that is smart. For one thing it would not change anything, and you would be killed and maybe even your family. Remember over 90% of the people here will not call the police when they have a crime perpetrated against them. The reasons are obvious. They would never advocate wiping out the criminals that make them rich.

    7. Yes the amen part was about the families. My point was, that the only way to stop it is extermination. I'm not for innocents being punished, but for the greater good, it's the only way. Brutal...yes...but no less brutal than what the offenders are doing. What's your suggestion? I'm open minded enough to listen.

    8. @ 7:02 a.m. A lof of guys heading north from Guanajuato were taken off buses by Los Zetas in Tamaulipas. Los Zetas assumed any military age guy coming from Guanajuato was being sent by CT or Sinaloa to help Golfos in their war with Los Zetas 2009-2011. Hundreds were killed. And Tamaulipas state authorities knew exactly what was happening.

    9. American special forces to find clandestine mass graves?
Besides the fact that the secial forces are more groomed to produce a few more clandestine mass graves, secret prisons full of secret prisoners and enhanced interrogations, for another few trillion dollars, borrowed from the chinese and would need a few thousands of private military contractors to hold their hands, a that was needed was human right specialists and crime investigators with BALLS AND TEETH and no need for epn's presidential approval BS...

  6. It's not an exaggeration to say Mexico is one giant mass grave. Let's hope high level Mexican officials are one day brought before the International Court of Justice for crimes against humanity. They will never be brought to justice in Mexico.

Zetas are kind of a handy scapegoats, looks lately like the zetas are too handy scapegoats, I suppose the military, the paramilitarized policia judicial, the marinas, the state police commissioned by the governor du jour, and their personal sicarios are the murderers more than the pinchis carteles, but blaming los setas is soo easy...too easy...

  8. I have been saying all along that the amount of people reported being killed in Mexico each year is ridiculously low. When you find mass graves you know there are thousands more out there.

  9. Meanwhile penanieto is more worried about his same sex marriage reform because that's the moda right now, by doing this we're going to be primer mundistas, not that I have something against homosexuals but in a country with a huge diaspore because of the lack of jobs and security, a country with 1000s ninos de la calle a country were indigenas are abused, humiliated, mistreated, discriminated, a country were cartels rule a country were citizens disappear, left and right, a country with 10000s of women are raped and killed.... Same sex marriage should be a priority

    1. I wonder who's trying to turn Mexico into a liberal country?

    2. Political correctness gone mad. There are some slightly more important issues at hand than same sex marriage?

    3. 2:53 Pena nieto and his stupidity id trying to turn Mexico into a liberal country, because is the moda right now because that's what you see in the us many western countries, and pena nieto se deja influenciar como buen pendejo because that's what "first world countries" do right? And of course that's gonna make us one of them levantandose el cuello with the world mientras las muertas de juarez are still hoping to get justice meanwhile, you see more ninos de la calle than homosexuals, meanwhile indigilenas are outcast of the society they way way more discriminated, abused, and humiliated than homosexuals, a country where mass graves are common, a country that has failed its people and millions literally risk their life to live illegally in the us, because even by being illegal you an chance to make a living if you work hard than in YOUR OWN COUNTRY and that's very embarrassing... But againg same sex marriage has to be a priority, forget about the cartels, forget about the indigenas they are only important when doing pilitical campaign, forget about los ninos de la calle, forget about high numbers of feminicidios, forget about the mass graves, let's do what western european countries and us do lets have same sex marriage that will make us a first world country..

    1. 9:04 Muchos, many, but to make you happy, clandestine graves may have one or more bodies, criminals usually do not care, only the.government worries about the optics and the appearances, the federal government disappears people as the criminals get higher in rank, salvador cienfuegos has seen his share of state sponsored terrorism and murder all his motherfacking life, he is a graduate of the school of the assassins, that what they do.

  12. Dont know if BV EPN Can do something about this or not. He seems complicit. Remember, he was already caught with many offshore compañías and accounts. I suspect the cartels have a lot of dirt on him and he probably fears them apart from that. Dont look to this guy for any help. He will only help himself.

  13. Yes, and from where and from whom did EPN get all these millions of dollars he put in his secret offshore accounts? We all know where the money came from.

    1. @9:15 and 9:18 (who I think are the same person) I am certainly not a fan of EPN, but can you tell me your source or website where you got your information that EPN put millions into offshore companies and bank accounts. I don't remember reading that.

    2. Juan Armando Hinojosa, EPN's financiero implicated. Just google Panamá Papers or Mossack Fonseca Law Firm and Enrique Prieta Nieto. The Guardián first reported it. BB reported it. If you cant find it let me know ill get the websites. Thanks DD for all if your good reporting.

  14. Vale..... I read this article, but am puzzled by: 'We brought specialists in from Iguala, Guerrero, two people came, and we worked with the entire collective and achieved this result." So, this means that two specialists from Iguala came to investigate? Sorry dd, but given that ALL of the invesgators from Iguala could not solve the disappearance of the 43, I have to wonder about these same 'specialists' being involved in this. Maybe it is just me, but I think, at the end, again, there will be no answers.

    1. @11:04 Since the group in Veracruz were looking for graves and bodies of their relatives I am sure the specialist they brought from Iguala were forensics experts who had experience looking for mass graves and identifying bodies and not investigators trying to solve the disappearance of the 43. While forensics specialist from Iguala did not solve the disappearance of the 43, they certainly played a crucial role in debunking the government's story of what happened.

  15. Why specialist from Guerrero? They can't even find 43 students. Veracruz is not that big to finding all these mass graves.

    1. There is a big crematory in Chilapa Guerrero nearby, and a tire dump, military were reported to have camped there, and on the night of the disappearances, Terra Nasa satellite reported a big fire there, and has photos on the internet, which sometimes you can not find for a while...

      Delete
    2. What???? a big fire in the crematory?

First of all it rained all night, and nasa fotos proved that there was no fire at the dumpsite. I never heard of other nasa fotos showing a fire. Give us some links.

the closest crematory, to Iguala, was closed down, there was another further away also closed, but when inspected in this case they found bodies in various stages of preparation for cremation.

However I made a map using two routes towards Cuernavaca where there is a large crematory on the militar base, travel time is only little over an hour. A little further towards and in DF there are multiple crematory on militar base
