Dr. Mireles Will Be Freed Thursday or Friday

Translated by Valor for Borderland Beat

Valor's note:

Take whatever Ana Valencia says with a grain of salt.  She was the same wife that didn’t agree with what Mireles and the autodefensas were doing in the beginning when they first rose up in arms.  She also left Mireles to be with the Caballeros Templarios because of the wealth that they had even after some of her family members had been killed by the Templarios.  Mireles has previously stated that they hadn’t been together since December of 2014, I believe.  He also said that he was embarrassed to call her his wife.

Valencia is also currently in a feud with Priscilla/Grillonautas due to the releasing of audio of her talking about how she wanted Mireles dead and that she wanted Mireles’ house and truck after he dies, among other things.

The former spokesman of the autodefensas of Tepalcatepec, Dr. José Manuel Mireles Valverde, will be freed sometime between Thursday the 16 and Friday the 17 of April, according to the wife of Dr. Mireles, Ana Valencia, based on what the defense attorney said.

Interviewed via telephone by Quadratín, the wife of Mireles said that the litigant, Javier Livas, has transferred to the prison of Hermosillo, Sonora in order to wait for a response and to wait for the release of Dr. Mireles.

He revealed that even support groups are organizing a welcoming outside the federal prison for the former spokesman, who was detained on June 27 2014, and two days later, admitted to the maximum security prison.

Valencia said that Dr. Mireles will immediately board a plane that will move him to Guadalajara, Jalisco, and later to Michoacán, specifically to Tepalcatepec.

It should be noted that in recent days, the First Unitary Court granted an amparo to the former leader of the Michoacán autodefensas, José Manuel Mireles Valverde, and to three of his bodyguards accused of violating the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.

  1. so the wife is speaking for him? He said in writing not to listen to her. anyway his attorney said last week no family members have been allowed to visit him in months.

he also said he may be freed because of the amparo. but pgr may fight it. kind of difficult to do since gerber was set free, but this is mexico and nothing is ever just or as it should be.

  10. This will be interesting to see what he does when he gets out. It's been a while since he's been gone and the dynamics in Michoacán have changed. He was always vocal against corruption but his main focus was CT as a whole especially the leadership. Now Mencho and Viagras are there and getting stronger every day.
Will he go after CJNG now? These guys are not scared to slaughter cops by the dozen. I doubt they would be hesitant to fuck up someone who's making a lot of noise and negative attention. Castillo is gone, there will be no more bullshit arrests and detentions. The way I see it, Mireles gets into politics and tries to make a real substantive change for the country and it's people. If he starts right back up with checkpoints, patrols and hunting bad guys he will be executed just as soon as they can get to him...

    1. I doubt he would go after the menchos in michoacan, the AD has a voice and if CJNG carried on with the templarios dirty work they would've ask for the government to step in like with tuta's boys. Mencho has european money I don't think he needs to tax every lemon and avocado, I hope Mireles steps away and retires somewhere safe because a run in politics is a assassination

    2. Me too. I want to know the conditions of release and will still wait for a period of time before celebrating. Slicky boy EPN deals from both sides of the deck and has a few cards tucked away for good measure.

  12. Mireles is a bigger threat to the cabrones in Morelia. If this news is not mierda he should run for governor on a popular ticket. But I think PRI, PAN, & PRD are afraid of him. Quien sabe the danger to this man. The liders of los rurales know he is no friend to them. This man needs latino ex secret service gringo protectors around him. Untouchables.

  13. Wow! It's about time he is to be freed. He's one of the good guys and was totally mistreated.

  14. I don't believe it. They will probably recind on his release orders just hours before his scheduled liberation. Never trust a Mexican, and especially a Mexican police officer.

    ReplyDelete
  15. What about the more than 400 AutoDefensas followers of him that are in prison too?
--releasing Dr Mireles and not them is like one skinny little favor, and we are supposed to be oh so grateful to the mexican governing narco-mierdocracia...
--even if they are released, let's not forget that general gurrola is still the same asshole murderer from the School of the Assassins working for the same butcher of Atenco and Ayotzinapa partner of the butchers of Tlatlaya, Acteal/Chenalhó...
There is still a lot to be done...

  16. Thursday or Friday of what year?? Hahahaha

  17. The DEA demanded that Pena Nieto let their agents roam in Mexico armed along with Patreus's men without interference. My guess is Mireles will run for the highest office in Michoacan protected by U.S. agents who will be infiltrating and observing the inner workings of a known corrupt government

  20. Remember, plane trips in Mexico (bearing certain passengers) are never certain to arrive safely. And, "accidents" commonly happen in super - corrupt Mexico when the "powerful" are threatened. Given my paranoid distrust of Mexican political affairs, I think the good doctor will "always" be in danger of foul play.

From where I sit, he must have 24/7 protections for the rest of his life....because Mexico is NOT going to in his "natural" lifetime.

Of course, I pray for him to live a long and fruitfully happy life in the service of Mexico.

God, protect this true Mexican warrior for Justice !

  25. ....but, what will be the conditions of his release? They are not just going to turn someone loose, they deem as a threat to them...that's why he went to prison in the first place. His release, if it is one..could very well, force a change in AD.

  29. I sure was hoping, the doc would be a free man by now...sipping on some fruity alcoholic drink on the beaches of Mexico! I tell you what I will do, I will sip on one for him..only i'm not on a beach in Mexico, i'll have to pretend that part. Maybe sometime very soon, he will have his freedom, I sure hope so.
