“El Barbarino” Killed in Culiacán

Lucio Borderland Beat with material from Rio Doce and  El Debate
Francisco Aceves Uriah, alias "El Barbarino" was identified as a subject gunned down Monday in the city of Culiacan.

Aceves was a famous old school sicario, of the Sinaloa cartel and close friend of Joaquin Guzman Loera, alias "El Chapo" Guzman and Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.

Aceves, 55, had his residence in municipality Mocorito, in the central area of the State of Sinaloa. "El Barbarino" was fired upon at 12:50 hours in the parking Cayenna restaurant, located on the Francisco Labastida Ochoa Boulevard, in the Tres Ríos Urban Project, northern Culiacán.

The victim arrived on the scene with his family aboard a silver Nissan Tiida vehicle bearing Guanajuato state license plates DRZ-1308. The family entered the restaurant and at which time Aceves Uriah parked the car and spotted the gunmen, Realizing what was about to happen, he exited the vehicle  and attempted to flee, only managing a couple of yards before gunmen open fire killing Aceves in his tracks.

At the scene police found more than 30 spent 9MM and AK47 shell casings.
In 1993,  the  Procuraduría General de Justicia of Sinaloa, accused Aceves of leading a command that assassinated the  sub director of the Municipal Police of Culiacán, Ramón Eduardo Verástica Valenzuela.

The fallen police chief had struck hard against cartels, with arrests, destruction of marijuana plants, and taking down so called safe houses.

No one has been brought to justice in the case.

Aceves worked under the direction of ‘El Chapo’, and the corrido below, ‘Regalo Caro’, was composed in honor of El Barbarino’.

Corrido translation by "777" (thank you) Spanish below-

On the boss's birthday
gifts are always delivered.
Some bring prize bulls.
Some bring brand new cars.
Some risk their lives
and the gift turns out to be very expensive .

Barbarino discovered he
had a skillful enemy.
He (enemy) was in his way
and Barbarino went out find him.
Barbarino would risk his life
trying to find that bandido.

You are in my bosses way
and I have planned your murder.
All Of Shaka's people have
searched everywhere for you.
This time I have come for you.
You are my expensive gift.

The gunfight started.
Barbarino was lucky.
On the bandido's forehead
death found a home.
Barbarino loaded him unto his Grand Marquis
and went to deliver the corpse to his boss.

I don't have sufficient money
to buy you (boss) a new car.
Pardon me senor but
these gifts are very expensive.
Open the trunk Boss.
This is my humble gift.

La lealtad de un pistolero
Se le aplaude y se le admira
Por que son hombres completos
No se andan con la mentira
Y traen en su itinerario
A los que traen en la mira

Cuando cumple años el jefe
Siempre salen los regalos
Unos le traen cementales
Otros traen carros del año
Unos arriesgan su vida
Y el regalo sale caro

Se dio cuenta Barbarino
De un acérrimo enemigo
Era el que mas estorbaba
Y el emprendió su camino
Iba a rifarse su suerte
Al buscar aquel bandido

Tu le estorbas a mi jefe
Y matarte lo he planeado
Toda la gente del Shaka
Donde quiera te ha buscado
Esta vez vengo por ti
Tu eres mi regalo caro

Se agarraron a balazos
Barbarino tuvo suerte
En la frente del bandido
Se le dibujo la muerte
Y lo subió a su marques
Para llevar serlo al jefe

No tengo mucho dinero

  1. Why hit him now? He is probably beyond retired as a sicario. At least the hitman allowed the family to make it. It appears to me like the hit was strictly business and nothing personal especially since the family wasn't touched.

    1. Wasn't it someone on BB once said a sicario has to look over his shoulder the rest of his life?Could be a revenge thing maybe a family member of someone he killed many years ago hired a hit on him.Its probably the only justice they could ever get.

    4. Hopefully the Sinola cartel and the golfo cartel (gdc) can make a alliance since they are the two oldest cartels, in Mexico...they should forget about the drug trade in the us....focus on other areas...let the zetas have the U.S. This way the U.S will focus on the zetas and other start up cartels And wipe them out...its time for the veteran cartels like Sinola and Golfo Gdc to cut the shit and teach their staff integrity and respect for human life..the drug game was never about killing it was always making money for your family and doing good for your community, building schools creating jobs..college funds etc...a better way of life.. Not cars, clothes, phones, planes boats houses, bitches etc...get it together Sinola and De Golfo...its time to get off the grid..disappear and restructure yourselves...change your thought proceess give up the U.S routes let the other cartels have it... You both are very powerful cartels, you don't need a reputation...you both have had it since the 1800s...Change your recruiting methods...stop recruting young dumb hot heads.this is what is destroying your reputation...

  25. This is a bigger deal then you guys think, he was definitely not just a sicario for CDS. He controlled most of the logistics for chapos actual business and not just control plazas like damaso and the gafes that chapo had (pinguino, 50 (soni), bravo, bob, condor)

    1. If you are correct in what you are saying then this could only mean one of the following scenarios.
      First:
It takes BALLS to kill a person of this magnitude, for if you are discovered as being the killer this is not only a guaranteed death sentence for you but for your entire family and quite possible descendants for years to come. Having said this, Mayo is the only person powerful/capable of ordering the "hit" on this guy without too much fear of repercussions. A possible betrayal or infighting within the cartel?
      Second:
A hit by another cartel, which would indicate a weakening of the CDS for this guy was killed in the heart of CDS territory.
      Third:
Chapo will be in jail for the rest of his life so this might not mean a "betrayal" by Mayo per say, but a necessary/strategic move to clean out Chapo's influence within the cartel so that business can flow more smoothly. Sort of like when two departments are combined in a business, you tend to let go of you "least" favorite assets (managers), and or liabilities. This guy could have been considered a liability within the cartel for all we know. Only in the drug game you get your sorry ass KILLED when you are no longer needed. After all everyone agrees that DRUGS are a business right?
      Lastly:
The least likely scenario for the reasons that I stated in the first opinion as well as the fact that two types of weapons were used, AK 47 and a handgun. A bastard out for revenge. Two handguns however would more than likely mean at least two bastards in one of the riskiest situations I doubt anyone would ever like to put themselves in. That is unless they are orphans.

    2. CAF had the real hitmen in narco history. Fabian Martinez Gonzales " El Tiburon" took his own life with a shot to the temple rather than being locked for life or shot by cop bullets. Ramon Arellano also committed suicide something that not too many people know. That cop never shot him. RA was surrounded by agents and he took his own life by shooting himself under the chin. That's the real plot went down. Benjamin said it himself.

El chapo la cago, too many fights with golfas, carretillas fuentes, arrelleno felix, assiel, los beltranes and los lavacarrozzz, then the flores twins fuck-up...it applies to grameros as to ton dealers, when your customer is doing TOO GOOD, it is NOT GOOD, someone is just getting the pig fat to market, it does not fail, then a one billion dollar per capo plus a 10 year sentence FOR PLEADING GUILTY AND COOPERATING , is a tempting offer if you have the money like el vicentillo; or 250 million dollars and 25 years for assiel cardenas guillen, or 60 million ranch of los zetas, no money to make bail or for fines...
--There, there, compare who has more pelos de gato en el chango and cockroaches en el horno, CDS has been doing it for more than 50 years, and chapo is not the biggest boss, not even el mayo...

    1. CDG has been in the contraband /drug trade longer than any Mexican cartel. The CDG and it's people are different in many ways. Many people say there is no money??? Right!!! I can tell you first hand. oso( little osiel) oisiels daughter's ( he has three in total. One out of wedlock) are all multimillionaires and the money still keeps rolling in by the millions. Remember osiel was arrested more than ten years ago. Osiels kids were raised in a super religious house hold. They do not brag about there riches but do live a very opulent life style. You will never here of osiels kids bragging or putting pictures of there fortunes on social media sites like the mayitos or chapitos. Oso (Aka) osiel Cardenas Jr. Was not crossing amo to smuggle but was instead buying the amo for a new year celebration. These kids have a very religious strict mother and she tries to keep oso in check and keep him walking a straight line! My point is they are very different CDS and CDG. CDS like to brag about there fathers and uncles and show the world what they have in the other hand CDG families are not into and don't pay much attention to social media. These kids believe it or not will never go broke and CDG and the Cardenas are very well in power.

    2. People born into money are used to it and don't show off.Its the wannabes that didn't have anything then suddenly do.Take a look at lottery winners and middle management dudes and their attitudes.Osiels family being religious, what a joke do they not believe in the 10 commandants? Is it #4 Do not steal[extortion, kidnapping, oil theft]Another 1;Do not kill. What a joke but guess they were probably teaching the kids;do as I say not what I do.
