2 Alleged Puente Grande prison guards executed in Jalisco

Borderland Beat
.

Two security agents, believed to be prison guards at the Maximum Security Prison of Puente Grande, were executed near the New Guadalajara Bus Central in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.

The attack took place today (January 30th) shortly before 1 PM, at the moment the officers were off duty and awaiting a bus in a place known as Portales del Calzado. According to witness reports, several men travelling in three vehicles arrived at the scene and shot the men.

The assassins fled in different ways using the highways near the are, including the Mexico City Highway and Blvd. Lazaro Cardenas.

The hitmen left several threatening banners over the bodies of the guards (unofficially identified as Carlos Alejandro Gutierrez Resendiz and Ricardo Vergara Garcia)

In an interview with local network Notisistema, Ivan Barba, operations director for the Tlaquepaque Police said "It looks as they are people who work in the Federal Prison, it´s not official yet and it was a direct attack, they were waiting for their bus".

Besides local and state authorities, members of the Federal Police and Federal Attorney´s General Office arrived at the scene to make verify if the victims were indeed workers at the Federal Maximum Security Prison #2 "Occidente" (Tijuano´s Note: Formerly known as Puente Grande or "Puerta Grande" since that´s the prison from which El Chapo Guzman escaped, this is the same prison where Rafael Caro Quintero was held before he was set free by the current federal administration).

    2. Tijuano, rumors out of social clubs in Tijuana is that "El Kitty" Paez was released from federal? Can you verify that. That guy had a well organized group back in the 90s.
Ps: Nice to have you back, we need more TJ stories. I wonder if Adiel Camacho would have had permission to play Sinaloa corridos in Tijuana back in the day. Dude is playing at Pulgas tonight.

  4. I am surprised this didn't happen sooner. Now the question is, who was it done in behalf of? Start death row and make up for lost time. Delete them all so there is no one to try to rescue!

    1. Corrupt guards who tried to Shake down the wrong people is my guess. Puente grande had a amazing system in which the cartel runs everything. The guards on the inside for the most part do not carry guns and are outnumbered at most times 200/1. i would like to see what the mantas said that got laid out next to them.

  8. I spent a week in puente grande a couple years ago. In the Chinatown section, there is the big area for longtimers and Chinatown/Beverly hills for shortimers. The prison is run by Sinaloa/cjng shot callers guards are merely scenery. These guards must have messed with the system. It is extremely well run by the shotcallers with a system in which riots or fights very rarely break out. I had a friend who did 5 years and he told me how it all works. Surprisingly the guards do very little so I would guess these guards did someone very dirty, leading to something like this to happen.

  11. Maybe the execution means that the 2 guards did not want to cooperate with the cartels.
So, does it mean that the still alive guards are alive because they do cooperate ?

  12. And being the neighbor of mexico we know these same kinds travel to and fro as they please . Sure there is some obstacles but only deter the typical illegal worker .
People believe me when I say this . If John Q Public in the USA had any ideal of how bad it is down there , the border would be sealed . You " there is killing and crime every day in the US . Sure there is. How much is connected with drugs and or immigrants ? How many prison breaks have we had that more than a hundred escaped ? How many super criminals escaped that were alleged to be the head of the worlds largest drug ring in the world for way over a decade?
We will not have another Obama in office anytime soon . Things move a little slow in US politics but the USA , in the next few years will , if it still exists ,tighten its belt .

    1. It already has tightened it's belt. It's killing innocent people like you every day. US cops aim for the face. They murder any chance the get. Just the other day, a cop pulled on gun on some young adults, over a snow ball fight.

Why would they tighten their belts against the cartels? Bigger issues like stealing Arab lands to keep US's dollar afloat. Why would they protect anyone but themselves from cartels? They run the cartels. Disagree? Read up on Iran-Contra scandal.

  13. I have to agree with 5:15am. In the early 1980's a friend who lived in Jalisco met a young, new police man. He told her that he was sent by another agency to investigate corruption. Two months later he 'disappeard', never to be seen again.

  14. A man who was once a policeman in Mexico told me that it's very difficult to be an honest policeman in Mexico because from the time they join the police force they are joining a culture ingrained with corruption! The rookies are forced to cooperate and assist or else! Many become corrupted themselves and many leave! The corruption is deep and goes all the way to the top!

  15. Everybody tightens their belts, the police don't, they get toys, pay rises and impunity for being the mastiffs of the amerrikkkan oligarchs, and then the brainwashed weapons owners that need more and more and more weapons, before ''obama'' terminates their right to own and bear arms, from guns to tanks and 'nuculear' devices, many of which get sold to mexican DTO's...
