Tampico: Two Additional Businesses Torched, and a Decapitation with Message

Chivís Martínez for Borderland Beat

In less than one week, four Tampico Tamaulipas businesses have been torched.  All four were CDG’s  Dragones de Sheyla controlled businesses.

Outbreaks of violence has been scattered throughout Tamaulipas, with Tampico being hit the hardest as the explosion of violence there shows no sign of being abated .
On Thursday two of the restaurant/bar businesses were incinerated this morning 24 hrs  apart.  First was the restaurant bar “El Chachalaco”, located in the Tampico beach community of Madero.  On Thursday at apx 6AM fire broke out, this came after a failed attempt at 11PM on Wednesday.

24 hours later the Tampico “El Coco Beach Bar”, was torched.  In both arsons Molotov cocktail devices were used to ignite the buildings. The other two businesses incinerated were El Angus and El Muelle.

CoCo Beach Bar Chachalaco is directly below left
The Tampico conflict is between two CDG (Golfo Cartel) groups, Los Fresitas  vs Dragones de Sheyla, are fighting for control of the Tampico Plaza.

Los Fresitas, literally meaning strawberry in Spanish, have exploited strawberry graphics on their Narco Messages, left behind at killings, and using fresh strawberries  to leave their mark at body drops.

Fresitas also has various Urban Dictionary meanings, preppy, false preppy, even metrosexual.   Male Fresitas, dress in expensive, preppy type clothing, drive nice cars, consider themselves a higher class than others, they can even speak differently.

On Wednesday, a decapitated body was left , also in Madero, accompanied by a a narco message signed by Los Fresitas .

Here is  your no good lawyer, who wanted to get your people out of jail. All those who support SHEYLA will end like this. You lawyers better take note and stop supporting the FILTHY waiter of SHEYLA and his group LOS DRAGONES. We already have you all located so you better get the fuck out of here. This goes for you too Lic. RENO. We already know everything you did, you fucking ungrateful traitor mother fucker. 3. there is almost no mention ever of kaibiles among the cdg or zetas, or other known associates of mexican cartels, i wonder if there are any, many or a few, i've seen some, watching over their ladies on the chicagoland, very nice and comely, educated, until someone tries to go too far...
    they are no pupusa!
even barrio aztecas, or whatever from cd juarez, tamps, sinaloa, jalisco, all very well beahved over here in the US, maybe because the police in the US don't kowtow to their gangbanging associates like they do in mexico...

  4. So one of them is responsible for collection of accounts. That would have to be from extortion and kidnappings. The other for the kidnapping of migrants which would also be for extortion or fees. All these morons lie about everything. These guys are so out in the open, that if the government really wanted them off the street it would not be hard to accomplish just that. The problem is the government and all it's employees are getting money to allow this to happen. So how will they ever get rid of them?

  5. mexico needs to adopt the japanese government's strategy with yakuzas.

they support one big yakuza family so that they are so powerful that no other yakuza family challenges their authority and there is relative peace. then when they get too powerful take them down.

    2. Hey dummy what an idiotic idea. People need to understand that in a place as large as a country cannot be controled by one crminal organization. People from lets say from the northern states dont want to take orders from someone somewhere else and viceversa.ask el chapo he tried it n failed.shit thats why theres so many organizations all thru mexico.thats why theres crips and bloods and southerners and northeners thats why they made 5 families in new york.thats why their carholics and christians everybady thinks different and crime is the same.no one guy can run the show in sone cities much less in a while country.

  6. I had excellent turtle soup in Tampico back in '80, got schnockered, crashed on the beach ... later young soldiers came by and stole our Igloo, cervezas, a lizard skin belt and thirty something bucks that we left out as a decoy for this eventuality, they grabbed it and were satisified, but they missed the four hundred we buried back in the pines. I often wondered if they or their kids turned into narcos ... or PRI politicians.

    3. They're just a bunch of street gangs now that use the term cartel del golfo to intimidate ppl. Cuz u would think they'd call themselves cdg not the fucking strawberries or the reds. If these ppl would just traffic drugs n stop all the other bullshit then shit would calm down n more money could be made. Think of all the money spent just to wage war with another group.

  9. when I look at google maps and take a rip down Mexico's coastline and see nothing but old shacks. You say to yourself. Had USA take all of Baja California as well, those shacks would be million dollar mansions. Mexico has so much potential, yet Mexican ure know how to fuck things up. and when I say Mexicans I'm reffering to the shitty government.

    1. Why the fuck would Million Dollar mansions be better? It woyld just be another playground for the rich and the average citizen would be left out, just look at Malibu where the rich homowners on the coast do all they can to exclude taxpaying citizens off of their backyard beaches!

    2. If that happens you can kiss good bye to cheap beer and low cost vacations on a weekend getaway!

  10. The USA needs to make Baja California the fifty first state. It would take but a short while and crime would drop down to the levels we now see in California proper. This is the only way Mexico will be inhabitable by decent people again.

And after Baja gets cleaned up, time to annex parts of the mainland into the USA. What I say will come to pass. The immigrants now fleeing to the USA from Mexico will lead the Reconquesta of Mexico.

  15. It looks like los fresitas are emerging as the victors of the battle for Tampico. Los Sheylas' businesses are being torched by los fresitas/Jimmies without the sheylas/dragones ability to respond in kind. ¡Como dice el dicho - se les está cargado la chigada! What ramifications will this event have in terms of this power struggle that is occurring in some of the will be interesting question to answer. From the looks of it though, it has to be favorable for Juan Perros since he is emerging as the winner in Reynosa, and his allies los fresitas in Tampico. Ciclones have to be weary since their allies in Tampico are almost done. Matamoros will get hot!

  17. To the people living in Tampico.
What are the public's views on these 2 groups? Los Fresitas say they're trying to kill the Dragones and clean up the city so do citizens prefer them over Dragones or do you view all the cartels the same?

  18. Baja becoming part of Mexico. Eventually, the southwest states will return to Mexican control.
America is bankrupt and when times become tough Mexicans will want to bring the southwest back to Mexico.
That is one of the reasons America monitors Pena's phone.

  21. When a person loses moral and ethical values, it becomes unloyal, selffish, corrupt. No person such it can be trusted. That is what has happend to all these people that join the cartel for money. At first its money to support their families, but in that kind of envirement their hart becomes motinless, then grid grows in their minds and the thoughts for power and control kick in. What you get??? A bunch of self center uneducated wanabe rich retards, that is when all hell brakes out. CDG did it on 2010 when they broke away from the Zetas, then when Tormenta was betrade, then when M3 was killed, and it so on and so on, and we are here 2014. Guess what, it is going to happen again and again. Another group will get up thinking that they are more powerfull than the other group and they want more money and varabim varabum, another power fight will break up lose. What about the goverment??? They are just as corrupt and the cartels. The difernce is that they were ties and sit in offices with air condition. It is time for autodefensas to get up in arms in tamaulipas, but with the idea that they will ignore the goverment. Why ignore the goverment??? Well because once the autodefensas star wipping out the cartel, the goverment knows that they could be the next target, and pinas nieto and his people dont want the bottle to be taking away from them. So what would the goverment do??? Ask the autodefensas to give up their weapons and then they will tell one group the the other group has been infiltraded by cartels there by creating problems with each other and causing a division amoung autodefensas. Wait, where have I seen this,....thick thock, thick thock,...haaa, yes I remember now, MICHUACAN. People please dont belive a word the goverment says. I you star and uprise, please dont stop at just cutting the plant, continue digging till you get the roots out. GOD BLESS YOU WHO ARE LOYAL TO YOUR FELLOW MEXICANS AND THAT ARE TIRED FROM CORRUPTION.

  24. @5:38 of course mexicans will not be taking anything from the us.
the american people have been taken for a ride, since the theology of liberation movement was hijacked by sun myung moon in central and south america and replaced with the church of neo-liberal capitalist Jesus,
republicans have been stealing government contracts to steal government functions to steal the americans jobs, and to privatize the people's government and money.
Private US government contractors, the majority of them republicans, allied with a few democrat sellouts, are the worst enemy of the people, its government and its institutions, robbing blind he very same agencies they are supposed to help with their complementary services, end up completely taken over, after taking them to the cleaners.
those companies don't owe nothing to the american people, not even to their investors, they owe everything to their executives and their wise choices of politicians they get elected, against the will of the people, by gerrymandering, vote stealing, vote manipulation, shake-down of rivals, and everything in their bag of dirty tricks...

  25. @ 12:00 PM

Outstanding retort to the troll that wants "Mansions" on the undisturbed beaches of Baja.

I lived in LA county for most of my life. Malibu has been a rich man's private beach for generations.. Here in LA with over 12 million people, a few thousand has control over 20 plus miles of Southern California beaches. We are left with overcrowded, overpriced and polluted beaches. The "public access" of 6 feet walkways, has no public parking, restrooms and other amenities. Let's hope a category 4 hurricane wipes out Malibu.

Here in Nayarit, Mexico, the privatization of the Playas has bulldozered many beautiful beaches. Punta Mita, Guaybitos, Chacala, Saulitos, Lo de Marcos. Platanitos, Santa Cruz, Las Islitas, Matachen and San Blas. Wealthy foreign buyers and connected Mexicans are planting "Keep Out, private property" signs everywhere. Local people for generations that had access, now find themselves barred from the beach that is less that 1 mile away from their homes.

Oh yeah, none more thing on the Malibu residents. A few years ago they supported a voter approved tax bond that would costs LA county residents 100 million dollars to overhaul their sewer system. It failed miserably. :)
