Fed Up With Abuses, Poblanos Create Their Own Self-Defense Group

Neighbors from Chilac gather around the leader Francisco Alfaro

By: Gabriela Hernández
Inhabitants of the town of San Gabriel Chilac, southeast of the poblano (inhabitant of Puebla) territory, announced the formation of a self-defense group to be mentored and trained by their counterparts from Michoacán and will also be funded by poblanos living abroad.

Francisco Alfaro Rodríguez, spokesperson for the citizens group that make up the Common Front For Peaceful Civil Resistance (Frente Común de Resistencia Civil Pacífica (FCRCP)), said that they have been determined in creating this group in order to defend themselves from organized crime that plagues the region and that are in collusion with municipal and state security authorities.

Even though the spokesperson announced that a group of people will be traveling to Michoacán to receive training, the state government issued a report denying the existence of this self-defense group and announced that he’ll be sending elements in order to strengthen the security in San Gabriel Chilac.

Luis Maldonado Venegas

The General Secretariat of Government, Luis Maldonado Venegas, stated that in Puebla “there isn’t nor will there ever be a self-defense group”, and described the announcement as merely media.

“The institutional fabric in Puebla is there and is enough for the public security forces to continue, as before, fully guaranteeing the rule of law and stabilizing the atmosphere that represents Puebla” he said.

He also said that, on instructions from Governor Rafael Moreno Valle, elements will be sent to the municipality of San Gabriel Chilac, “to warn the local population, privilege is given to institutions by consensus and dialogue, so there can be no such organizations”.

Whereas in San Gabriel Chilac, Alfaro Rodríguez told reporters that the group has been intimidated by the state police and the army, but nevertheless still continues its activities because they have the support of the population, who are tired of being victims of organized crime while the authorities do nothing to punish those responsible.

The FCRCP emerged out of protests from past local elections, held in July, in which armed individuals who were favoring the success of Rigoberto David Martínez Rosas, nominated by the PT (Labor Party in Mexico), as mayor of San Gabriel Chilac.

In addition to announcing that they’ll be monitoring the entrances and exits of the municipality, Alfaro also said that they’ll also be preventing the swearing in of Martínez Rosas as mayor on February 14.

    francis3Señor Hazme un instrumento de tu paz.
    Donde haya odio siembre yo tu amor.
    Donde haya injuria perdón.
    Donde haya duda fe,
    Donde haya deseperación esperanza;
    Donde haya oscuridad déjame traer luz
    y Dónde haya tristeza alegría.

    Oh divino Maestro, Concédeme que no busque
    Ser conolado sino consolar;
    Ser comprendido sino comprender;
    Ser amado sino amar.
    Es dando que recibimos;
    Es perdonanado que somos perdonados
    y Es muriendo que nacemos a la vida eterna

  2. Please don't let this war spread to Puebla.
    I used to live there and it is a great place to live, at least when you're not being extorted or kidnapped.
    If the FCRCP has a means to get money to them i would gladly contribute to help them kill this scourge.

Saludos y fuerza!

  5. We see, in this post, the importance of what is happening in Michoacan.
    The reason the majority of the last 25 posts were concerning that center of activity. Michaocan is, more than any other story emanating from Mexico, where the news is. Where the future of Mexico is being written.

    It is where THE PEOPLE have said 'Basta' to the criminal element. It is much more important than any particular criminal or cartel.Even more important than 'el Chapo' Guzman or Carlos Slim.

    It is the birth of a social revolution, as significant as the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. That the revolution is spreading, that the people of Mexico see that their future is in their own hands, that reliance upon the government is not required to free themselves from oppression.

    The militias of Mexico, birthed in Michoacan, and now seen to be spreading to other states, is the most important social development in the Americas in this, the 21st century.

I told my mom three years ago that this would happen, just by reading mexicos history this wasnt hard to conclude, because mexicans really dont take shit from anyone

    1. I believe it allready has.I here there's another self defense group poping up in san luis potosi.and there going to fight the cdg and the zetas.this shit is really growing fast.the cartels can't beat the people. Look how fast ct is getting beat.and it takes alot of money to fight a war.its easy to get a 16 year old to be a look out for three hundred pesos a day.but to get people to fight and kill and get killed is a different story.plus bullets cost alot of money.I've been in the military. The auto defense has so many advantages I can't even list them all.the citizens no who these people are and they want them gone.so they rat them out and they abandon there homes.there running out of money fast.this is great

  7. The revolution has allready started.and thers not enough soldiers to go to every city in Mexico amd stop them.but there is enough guns in America to arm them.I just bought another ar 15.that's 3 in the last three months.they cost 825 dollars.plus bullets and extra clips.you better start buying now because Mexico is going to need alot of help

  8. There was allways a theory that if you legalize drugs that there just be more crime like kidnaping and extortion. And that might be true.but Mexico has proved that the people will except selling drugs. But they wont except those other crimes.so I believe this is a strong statement for legalization of drugs.that would bankrupt the cartels.

  10. There are millions of Mexicans living abroad that would gladly contribute financially to these groups. I am one of these mexicano, would like to see a link posted to make credible donations to contribute in cleaning up mexico. It's been to long and too many people have suffered out of the greed of a few (narcos, politicos)..

  11. I just cringe that they say they want to send in more elements now they want to start a civil defense. Where were these elements before? If the elements answer to the civil groups and work with them in the trenches so to speak, it could work. The problem is the elements will be controlled by the people that are hurting them. As with the army getting involved in Michoacan, they do not even show up until after the smoke has cleared, and do not arrive when called upon. It is all smoke and mirrors and a waste of money for Mexico to even send them if they are not truly going to help.

    MAKE SENSE PLEASE

    It is the birth of a social revolution, as significant as the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. That the revolution is spreading, that the people of Mexico see that their future is in their own hands, that reliance upon the government is not required to free themselves from oppression.

    GOOD POINT

    ACTUALLY THE ZAPATISTAS DID IT FIRST AND WERE CRUSHED WITH THE FULL BLESSING OF THE USA, AND THERE HAVE BEEN MOVEMENTS THAT WERE AS GREAT THROUGHOUT THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAS WITH JUST AS MANY FOLKS FIGHTING BACK.

    COME ON DUDE, YOUR POST AINT SAYING SHIT BUT STATING THE OBVIOUS, YOU WANNA SAY SOMETHING MEANINGFUL, TALK ABOUT WHY IT IS NECESSARY FOR FOLKS WHO PREVIOUSLY LIVED IN THE US, TO GO THERE AND LEAD THESE GROUPS. WHY CAN'T THE FOLKS WHO LIVE THERE BE THE LEADERS? WE DON'T NEED YOU TO REGURGITATE WHATS BEEN SAID OVER AND OVER...ANALYZE WHATS BEEN SAID AND COME ORIGINAL...NOW GO EAT A PIROLINA.

    ON THAT NOTE CHIVIS, I'LL WILL TRY MY BEST TO STICK TO THE SUBJECT OR INSTIGATE A DEEP DIALOGUE ABOUT WHATS GOING ON, INSTEAD OF ATTACKING THE OTHER COMMENTATORS LACK OF CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS ...I'M TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO PUT YOU UP ON A STORY THAT EVERYONE HAS FAILED TO NOTICE...ITS BASICALLY ABOUT A COLD WAR BETWEEN TWO CRIMINAL GROUPS THAT IS BOOSTING THE CTs POWER...LETS SEE IF ANY OF YOUR COMMENTATORS CAN FIGURE IT OUT

    Ironic isn't it,how quickly government satraps announce measures to basically threaten the law abiding public who are forced into taking measures such as this precisely because of that same government's inactivity. Sometimes being a good law abiding person who wishes to rely on government institutions isn't enough as is evidenced by this.Instead of worrying about the good people,why doesn't he worry about the bad people?
    Its not that complicated,,,unless your one of the bad people and wish the status quo to continue?The government are being embarrassed and forced into taking action,if they weren't,they would continue to do nothing.

  19. Many revolutions in Mexico have been squashed through brutality or were eventually hijacked by dark forces. Will this revolution meet the same fate? Or will this movement of the people bring the necessary change needed to overthrow the oppressors of the Mexicanos? The globalists and new corporate imperialists have a lot to lose if this revolution of the people succeeds. Viva Mexico!!

  20. The common people all over Mexico who have lost hope , and have been pushed to far finally realize there is power in numbers. They are sick and tired of parasites , from the local criminal up to the corrupt officials. This movement is spreading throughout Mexico. The corupt officials are scared and will get exposed. ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!!!

  22. jayhwk, the riddler is on the loose,and batman won't be around anytime soon,the snippety lack of critical skills only show a kind of antipathy asking for an ass kicking,and no, i personally don't see any boosting of the templars power,quite the contrary,regardless of any other competing forces on michoacan,the AD and the CP are wining, the government may want to help the ct under the table but it is not working.
    everybody needs to understand that the principle of autority,has been misinterpreted,the public servants,are there to serve, and to do their best for the community that elects them to serve, not to help themselves to the public's property, or their wives and daughters,the public servants do not have any right to use the armed forces or the police to remain in power when the people don't want them there anymore, and the armed forces and the police are under no obligation to contribute to e enrichment of the superior offices through bank robbing,drug trafficking,kidnapping fir ransom or fabricating guilty parties. given the notorious failures and proven corruption of all kinds of police organizations, they should start anew,without corruption from above and under the watchful eye of their comrades,locally,accountable,now...
