Homicide Prosecutor of Attorney General (PGJE) of Guanajuato Executed

Borderland Beat
A prosecutor specializing in homicide for the Office of the Guanajuato Attorney General (PGJE) was executed last night in Leon, Guanajuato. Jose Antonio Guerrero Salazar, was shot to death by gunmen pursuing him as he was leaving the neighborhood of Granjas Campestres by the exit at San Francisco del Rincón.

Guerrero Salazar was with his wife heading home when at the intersection Governors and Satellite Streets was hunted down by sicarios in two other vehicles who shot him several times. Fortunately, the prosecutor's wife was physically unharmed.

The PGJE official died after receiving several bullets in the skull, said the deputy Manuel Angel Hernandez. Salazar Guerrero was 49 years old and worked for nearly 20 years in the field notably as an agent for the Office the Attorney General.  He served as prosecutor specializing in homicides.
According to the first witnesses on the scene, two vehicles were pursuing the car, one was reportedly a white Honda with no plates (except provisional paper taped on the inside windshield) and a grey vehicle which waylaid the prosecutor's car, at the same time agrey vehicle blocked the van, four gunmen opened fire and neighbors heard 6 to 7 detonations. The victim died facedown on the side of his car in minutes.

After the first report at 9:20 PM to 066, Municipal Police corroborating that a person had been shot and was seriously wounded, requested immediate medical help, they received a description of the perpetrators and implemented a wide search operation of the area within minutes.

Paramedics reached the scene quickly. The area across from the Pemex plant, was reinforced with a contingent of police from every level as it became apparent the chief homicide prosecutor of PGJEG Zone 1 had been slain.

The first insights into prosecutor's body, by the paramedics, presented four bullet wounds in and out of the occipital region of the head and more in the chest.
Deputy Manuel Angel Hernandez said at the news conference today that the Attorney General of the state of Guanajuato expresses its strongest condemnation of the murder of Mr. Jose Antonio Guerrero Salazar in the city of Leon. Salazar Guerrero died of multiple penetrating wounds to the head, but the spokesman reserved their number and caliber of the bullets that killed the officer of the PGJE.

The deputy refused to talk about details of the opened investigation. He just reiterated the agent was in his car bound for home when he was stopped and finalized and "It is ending of the life of a person who virtually spent his entire professional life was working for the Attorney General, many years."   Again he condemned the murder of the agent, whom he described as "a great man with an investigative nature."

  1. Damn, I guess he prosecuted or was in the process of prosecuting someone who definetely didn't want to be in jail. Or maybe he was working for the competition so they took him out of the equation. It definetely sucks for every citizen of mexico cuz u can't even go to the store without fear of kidnapping or execution

  4. He lasted a long time in that job -20 years-sad he didn't live to see retirement. Poor family. Come on Guanajuato, your clean image is beginning to tarnish!

  5. Havana, recently your just churning out one story after another. It seems to me you have passion for the information! Thankyou for all you do to keep us BB readers informed.

This hit might have been carried out by CJNG or CT as both organizations contest for control of Gto. With the recent capture of a CT plaza head and the placing of narco mantas all over the state proclaiming the taker of Gto. by CJNG, it was only s matter of time before heads began to roll; prosecutor specializing in homocides for the PGJE Jose Guerrero Salazar might have been
the first casualty of this war. The question arises - who did he work. Things are heating up in Gto.

  11. My mobile device shows up white. I think it may have something to do with Ithe new OS7 update. All the type shows up better than last week. Anyway. Did the prosecutor have anything to do with El Tello AKA El Pelon. I know CT doesn't take kindly to interference. Just saying they may be trying to teach some lessons, Narcomantas tomorrow or the day after.

  12. Hey 8:53 -

Consider the line at the end of the SECOND paragraph ....."Fortunately, the prosecutor's wife was physically unharmed."

You talk about my writing skills what about your reading skills?

I can only work with what I am given. I'm not at the point of embellishing to make a better story.

  13. What about the wife, geez. What does the wife have to do with anything other than being this poor guys wife? It said she was physically unharmed, no does that leave it open that she was psychologically hurt? Probably, maybe even spiritually wrinkled, but id say she is biologically intact!

  17. Can you imagine being in that situation? Just take a breath and close your eyes and imagine you are in your vehicle with your wife whom you love dearly, you have worked your entire life trying to do the right things for your people of Mexico and your family and you worked very hard over the years through law school and you eventually secured a position of prosecutor in the department of homicide, your family and friends are proud of you and if you have children they respect and look up to you... You are taking your wife out to a nice dinner and as you drive down the road you are telling your wife how lucky you are to have such a wonderful women and then all the sudden you notice 2 vehicles gaining on you at a high rate of speed and all the sudden you begin to become alarmed... You tell your wife to get ready to get down on the floor board and you pick up speed and you notice them also pick up speed and then you realize that yes they are chasing you... All the sudden bullets began to break out windows and you become terrified all in a matter of seconds, you push your wife farther down onto what you feel may give her safety on the floor of the front passenger seat as you try and do your best to out drive these pursuing killers and then you begin taking bullets to your body and the car spins out of control smashing to a stop, gunman jump out and run over to the drivers side of your car and they shoot directly into your head killing you instantly spraying your wife with blood and brain tissue, she is petrified and praying as the gunman run back to their vehicles and speed off into the night... Mexico has just lost another hero, a man, a good man that only wanted to do right by his people and look at what his fellow Mexican has done to him and his family... Sad? Oh yes so very tragic but its been going on for so long now that it is looked at as just being another day in Mexico... May he rest in peace and his family find some closure in knowing in their hearts that he was a good man... God please help Mexico help itself, in Jesus name, Amen...
