Double car bombing rocks Ciudad Victoria

Slideshow

By Sergio Chapa/KGBT

Authorities are investigating two car bombings south of the border in Ciudad Victoria.
The car bombings took place outside a Renault dealership and a Volkswagen on Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities are not releasing information at this time but Ciudad Victoria residents turn to networks such as Twitter to report what happened.
No injuries were reported but residents reported property damage in the area.
Soldiers blocked off the areas surrounding the dealerships while authorities investigating.
Nobody has publicly taken responsibility for the bombings but Ciudad Victoria and other Tamaulipas cities have been witnesses endless rounds of drug cartel violence over the past two years.
Both the Gulf Cartel and the Zetas are fighting for control of the region.

  2. Weak car bomb.... the car is still intact. Looks like more practice is needed. They got the body chopping down but of course that doesn't take brains.

  3. Do to the absence of any deaths and only minor property damage reported, I can't help but wonder if this was just intended to send a message. Maybe the dealership has fallen behind on payments?

  5. That is not a car bomb, they just set the car on fire. Looks that they don't know shit about explosives.

  6. A fire bomb is still a bomb. Open your mind and quit watching so many movies.

    1. Another site said they drove by and threw grenades. The car was hit and caught fire

  7. The cars were firebombed, they were not car bombs themselves. A subtle, but significant, difference.

  11. yeah i have to agree that all of the time people say setting a car on fire is a bomb. A true car bomb needs to cause some form of shrapnel and/or incendiary device that is forced out into a killzone causing casualties and or destruction to property, etc. Setting a car on fire is only good for marshmellows. Stop saying cars set on fire are car bombs, there is a diffrence, and the movies still suck. Obviously you have never seen the affects of a car bomb or IED. So, um stfu

    1. Two car bombings. Notice the "Ings" at the end of bomb. Two cars were bombed. Not two car bombs were set off.

  12. @ 6:01 AM I agree with you. That was no car bomb at all. Looks like it was set on fire. The hajis across the drink know how to make a VBIED. This was just a scare tactic.

  14. Pablo escobar was a hero to the poor of Colombia. He built churches and homes and soccer fields for them. He gave them money and food.
If CDS and cdg wants to be the heroes of mexico, help the poor and don't hurt them.
And truly only target zetas, who rape and pillage everyone, and Mexico will cheer el diablo and rey de reyes and chapo and el coss.
The zetas roots are violence and not being savvy internationl drug traffickers.

  15. These guys need to remember that when you introduce this type of shit into the equation the government is gonna go after them with more determination. VBIED's kill civilians and when you lose the civilian population's support you are fucked. We're going to see curfews and and strict rules on movement throughout the city. US intel is in there and we have 10 plus years of amazing experience from our two major wars. Keep going that route and beware the lawnmower in the sky!

    1. You would figure that caravans of thugs having shoot outs in the middle of the night could be easily tracked and followed back to their hideouts with American drones. At that point tactical teams could move in anf eliminate them. Sounds easy, so why wont these politicians of the people ( Mexican and American) get together and fully implement action. Just saying.
