Another Police Commander Assassinated in Saltillo

The victim was the replacement of the Saltillo commander killed along with his son 14 months ago, a few hours later two police officials in Torreon were also assassinated.


Tuestay morning The commander of the Municipal Preventive Police Saltillo, Arturo Alvarez Andrade, was killed outside his home in Colonia Lomas de Guadalupe, south of the city, informed the Attorney General State (FGEC).

El vocero de Seguridad de la FGEC, Sergio Armando Sísbeles Alvarado, señaló que tras confirmarse la identidad del comandante, se están analizando varías líneas de investigación, y tomando declaraciones de los testigos del lugar para dar con los presuntos responsables. The Security spokesman FGEC, Sergio Armando Alvarado Sísbeles noted that following confirmation of the identity of the commander, they will be analyzing several lines of investigation, and taking depositions of witnesses to the place to find those responsible.

Indicó que alrededor de las 07:00 horas se recibieron reportes en el Sistema de Emergencias 066, de que se había encontrado un cuerpo sin vida en la calle Chilpancingo del citado sector donde poco antes se habían escuchado disparos de arma de fuego. He said that around 07:00 hours reports were received in the Emergency System 066 of which a dead body had been discovered in Chilpancingo Street  of that sector,  which  had recently reported hearing gun shots.

Manifestó que el Coordinador del Cuarto Grupo de Homicidios de la Fiscalía General, Everardo Rosales Saucedo, ordenó el levantamiento del cuerpo que fue trasladado al Servicio Médico Forense (Semefo) para efectuarle la autopsia de ley. El comandante Arturo Andrade llegó en sustitución del comandante Emmanuel Almaguer Pérez, quien también fue asesinado el pasado 5 de diciembre de 2011 cuando salía de su casa en compañía de su hijo en la Colonia Magisterio, ubicada al oriente de la ciudad.Commander Arturo Andrade was the replacement of commander Emmanuel Perez Almaguer, who was killed on December 5, 2011.

Three hours later in the city of Torreon, Coahuila two police authorities were also assassinated.  Fernando Saucedo the head of  Torreon security and Carlos Moreno chief administrator for the police agency were killed.

In the Perez Almaguer killings, Emmanuel Almaguer Perez was killed in the  Magisterio neighborhood 14 months ago, his 11 (some reports state 15 years of age) year old son who was a passenger in his father’s vehicle was also murdered.

Almaguer Perez and his son were driving in their vehicle  when the gunmen opened fire on them, the AG’s office said.

The bodies of the police chief and his son were found inside the vehicle at the intersection of Seccion 38 boulevard and Arturo Ruiz street.

Almaguer Perez and his son were shot with assault rifles, the AG’s office said at the time.

The Los Zetas is the main drug trafficking organization operating in Coahuila, the Gulfo Cartel also operates in the state and the two once allied cartels have an ongoing conflict for control of  the  lucrative routes of the state.

  4. how do they ever get people to fill these jobs and what is the persons motives to take it? these seem like no win positions. they are either targets of all gangs or the target of one or another. there is no middle ground nor place to hide. once in the job the only way out is death.

  6. Actually c.d.g is still very powerfull and expanding. Zetas r powerfull also dont get me wrong. And if I was a cartel leader I wouldnt want attention neather. U my good sir r a dip shit. Not cuz a cartel dont have a million corridos that r pure bull shit or on the news 24/7 dont make em weak
