Chihuahua Officer Slain

At about 0700 hours on Sunday Saul Venegas Muñiz a Municipal Police officer in the city of Chihuahua was conducting regular patrol at the plaza of Santa Fe, located on the Boulevard Ortiz Mena, when a group of sicario confronted him.

The officer was still inside his police truck number 086 when the sicarios, who were aboard a black Ford Lobo, opened fire on the officer, which immediately caused panic among the people around the area.

The sicarios managed to flee the scene after killing the officer. Forces from several police agencies arrived to protect the scene while police conducted an investigation. Police were not able to give any information on any possible suspects or organized criminal group responsible.
