U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of more than $805,000 in cocaine at the McAllen-Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.

The seizure took place Monday afternoon when a 23-year-old man from Zapopan, Jal., Mexico, drove a 2003 Volkswagen Sharan minivan to an immigration booth and was referred to a secondary inspection area where CBP officers discovered 10 packages containing about 25 pounds of cocaine hidden inside the dashboard.

The drugs and the driver were turned over to U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for further investigation and prosecution.
