Norte del Valle Cartel Caught with $2.7 Million

Mexican federal police presented four suspected members of the Norte del Valle de Colombia cartel and packs of cash in U.S. dollars currency during a news conference at the federal police center in Mexico City. Police seized a total of $2.7 million dollars.

The suspects were presented to the media at the command center of the Federal Police, they are headed by José Luis Ladaga Lopez, a native of Mexico City, and the alleged financial operator of the Cártel del Norte. He is responsible for laundering large amounts of foreign currency to international financial markets.

Besides Ladaga Lopez the others were Milciades Báez López and Ernesto Ramírez Trujillo, both Columbian, and Ricardo Casasola Chávez.

The suspects had been pulled over for not having a license plate on their vehicle and through a search, the money was found in the trunk of the car.
