EU May Cut Aid to Sierra Leone Over "Bolle" Jos Leijdekkers, Dutch Trafficker Linked to the World's Largest Cocaine Seizure

The Dutch government is planning to move a motion at the European parliament calling on the European Union to stop sending development aid to Sierra Leone, because of President Bio’s "complicity in the growing global narcotics trade and protection of cocaine trafficker 'Bolle' Jos," according to Netherlands Times.

Jos Leijdekkers, after fleeing the Netherlands in 2022 via Spain, Dubai and Turkey, resurfaced several years ago in the African country of Sierra Leone, where he reportedly has posed as a businessman called “Omar Sheriff” and is reportedly married to a daughter of President Julius Maada Bio.

Jos has been convicted three times in absentia by Dutch and Belgian courts for organizing multi ton cocaine loads, murder and armed robbery. Last month, he was linked to a massive 30 ton seizure aboard a cargo ship that had last set sail from Sierra Leone.

Record 30 Tons of Cocaine Seized from Ship by Spanish Police

The Spanish police announced the seizure of what is believed to be the largest seized shipment of cocaine in history. On Friday May 1, Spanish Civil Guard took control of a ship loaded with huge quantities of drugs off the coast of the Canary Islands.

According to sources from the main Civil Guard Union (AUGC), reported by Agence France-Presse, the quantity seized was initially estimated to be between 35 and 45 tons of cocaine, as the ship’s holds were “completely full” of drug packages, making it a “historic operation.” The final count was 1,279 large bails totalling 30 tons of cocaine.

Currently, thorough inspections of the ship are being conducted, which docked in the Canary ports after departing from Freetown, Sierra Leone, heading towards Benghazi, Libya.

Bulgarian Arms Trafficker & Ugandan Government Official Charged with Supplying Weapons to CJNG

Dimitrov Mirchev, a prolific arms trafficker from Bulgaria, who once supplied weapons to Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, is said to be the head of a weapons trafficking network that supplied the CJNG military-grade using falsified documents in Africa. 

The group also met with cartel members in Europe and Africa to conspire to provide the CJNG with machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades, night vision equipment, sniper rifles, anti-personnel mines, and anti-aircraft weapons. 

The U.S. Department of Justice unveiled the indictment against four foreigners, led by one from Bulgaria and three from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, accused of drug trafficking and providing military weapons to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
