Decapitaed Discovered in Guerrero

In the early hours of Thursday authorities in the state of Guerrero found a gruesome discovery, right in the entrance on to Tepecoacuilco there was a decapitated body that was covered with in black plastic bags.

Among the clothing was an ID with the name of Rene Hernandez Castrejon, 36 years old. Next to the corpse was a message on a narcobanner that read:

An hour later after finding the torso of the dead man officers of the Huitzuco Preventive Police were dispatched to streets of the community Arenal where they discovered the head of the dead man. The head was located at the entrance of the sport stadium Rubén Uruiza Castro.

At the scene was another banner that had the same message that had appeared next to the body.

Beheaded and Castrated in Ciudad Altamirano

December 3, 2010, naked bodies of three decapitated and castrated men were thrown from a vehicle outside the offices of the newspaper “El Debate de los Calentanos”, just a few blocks away from PRI’s very own mayor, Juanchi Gustavo Adolfo Quiñones.

Along with the bodies, a message was left in green paper, “This is going to happen to all those who support La Familia Michoacana”. For god sakes, after so many times of reading the same shit over and over, one can only conclude that this people are idiots with the mentalities of a 3rd grader, feeding into the endless cycle of you do, I do.

"El Flaco", La Familia Michoacana, Arrested

Alfredo Landa and three other men were arrested in the area of Indeco in possession of firearms, cartridges and various objects, including 25 deeds of properties in the state.

Mexico, Nov 30 (EFE) .- The Mexican federal police arrested José Alfredo Landa Torres, alias "El Flaco", designated as an alleged cartel leader of the "Familia Michoacana in Morelia, capital of Michoacan state, southern Mexico.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) federal indicated in a statement that the capture of "El Flaco" came as a result of the operations against crime in Michoacán, where the detainee was responsible for his staff to coordinate, manage finances, corrupt officials and distribute drugs.

Landa said the agency assumed control of operations in Morelia after the capture of the former drug lords and Miguel Miranda Ortiz, alias "El Tyson" arrested last June and José Luis García Vázquez, alias "El Chilaca 'arrested in August.

The SSP said that Landa was arrested yesterday in Morelia, thanks to an investigation taking place on the said cartel.

According to the intelligence services of the department, "El Flaco" was arrested at age 17 in California (United States) for the crime of selling drugs, mostly marijuana and crack.

In 2007, "El Flaco", originally from the town of Arteaga, joined "La Familia Michoacana" on the recommendation of Servando Gómez, alias "La Tuta", one of the main leaders of that group.

The SSP added that after serving surveillance, the offender was assigned to the square of Morelia as head of informants (hawks) in the main entrances of the city under the command of "Tyson" and following the arrest of the operators the square, Landa was appointed chief in the plaza of Morelia.

The unit said the arrested confessed that the recent announcement by the cartel "La Familia Michoacana" to fall back in December of this year was to improve the group's image.

He explained that the strategy was to cause the band members themselves increase the number of ordinary crimes such as extortion, kidnapping, theft of property, and others to create a sense of "vacuum of authority and the need for their presence as a measure of crime control. "

As evidence of this objective, the police seized from "El Flaco" more than 25 deeds and documents collectible copies and originals in which the band wanted to "rob and extort money from their legitimate owners."


To date, the Federal Police have arrested in the last two years, seven capos of this organization responsible for the plaza of Morelia, including Arnoldo Medina Rueda, alias "La Minsa".


Together with the operator, the police arrested Sierra Campuzano Eden, alias "El Chino", 36, and second in command at the time, who was jailed in 1992 in El Paso (Texas, USA. UU.) For possession of firearms.

Severed Heads Found in Western Mexico

Apatzingan, Michoacan – Four severed heads were found Wednesday at the feet of an emblematic statue of former Mexican President Lazaro Cardenas in the western city of Apatzingan, sources in the Michoacan state Attorney General’s Office told Efe.

Left along with the heads was a disposable cooler stained with blood and scrawled messages from organized crime groups.

One of the messages was signed “La Resistencia,” the name of a gang thought to be linked to La Familia, a criminal organization that dominates the illegal drug trade in Michoacan.

The heads had bandages across the eyes and belonged to men in their mid-to-late-20s.

A search of the area around the statue failed to turn up the rest of the victims’ bodies.

The gruesome discovery in Apaztingan followed news of the deaths of 31 people in drug-related violence in northern and central Mexico.

The most serious incident occurred in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas, where at least 18 people died Tuesday in clashes between army troops and gunmen, as well as in shootouts involving rival gangs.

Nuevo Leon - The arrival of members of La Familia to support the Gulf Cartel in its dispute against the Zetas in Tamaulipas is the cause of the clashes and dissemination of messages that have led to psychosis in the population of the towns of Reynosa, Matamoros and Rio Bravo, said federal government officials involved in intelligence activities in that state.

The messages, which allegedly claimed to be from the Gulf cartel and signed with the acronym CDG (Cartel del Golfo), read, "Reynosa is a safe city. Nothing will happen, continue your normal lives. We are part of Tamaulipas, and we are not involved with the civilians."

According to sources, cases have been reported in the police units, preventive and ministerial agencies, that some of them serve in the interests of both the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas, and their radio frequency system has been used to spread what the federal government considers "red flags" such as death threats or attacks against other public servants.

One of the most important advances in recent days was the one conducted by members of the Mexican Marines after they were attacked with gunfire by a group of sicarios near Pemex facility in the area of Reynosa, they eventually seized what amounted to more than four tons of marijuana.

Action Marks First Derivative Designation Since President Identified This Violent Drug Trafficking Organization Last Year.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) today designated seven key leaders of the international drug trafficking organization La Familia Michoacana (La Familia) as Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers (SDNTs).

Today's designation targets two principal leaders of La Familia, Nazario Moreno Gonzalez ("El Chayo") and Jose de Jesus Mendez Vargas ("El Chango"), and five of their lieutenants. OFAC also designated as an SDNT one company owned or controlled by one of La Familia's lieutenants.

Today's action, pursuant to the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act (Kingpin Act), prohibits U.S. persons from conducting financial or commercial transactions with these individuals and entity and freezes any assets the designees may have under U.S. jurisdiction.

"Today's action targets the senior leadership of La Familia Michoacana, giving further effect to the President's April 2009 identification of this organization for sanctions," said OFAC Director Adam J. Szubin. "La Familia is one of Mexico's newest and most violent drug cartels.

Six Men Decapitated in Michoacan

Beheaded in Apatzingan marked with the letter Z

Acahuato, Apatzigán, Michoacan .- Authorities found the decapitated bodies of six men Friday in the western Mexico state of Michoacan, a hotspot of drug violence where armed men later ambushed a federal police patrol, killing five officers and wounding seven.

Ministry officials confirmed that six dead people were found killed, all were beheaded and dumped on side of the main road of this town. The bodies, all men had not been identified.

According to official reports, at 0520 hours on Friday morning, neighbors from the township of Acahuato reported to authorities that they had found several headless bodies on the main street to the entrance of the town.

An hour later police and state officials removed the six decapitated torsos along with six heads that belonged to the bodies found. They were all lying on the ground next to each other.

Two of the bodies had the letter "Z" carved on the chest while the heads had the same letter carved on the forehead.

Ciudad Altamarino, Guerrero - A mayor in western Mexico has been seriously wounded after gunmen opened fire on her car in the third assassination attempt against her.

The Guerrero State Public Safety Department says four others were injured, including Mayor Maria Santos Gorrocheta's brother and a reporter for a regional newspaper.

The attack occurred Friday in Ciudad Altamarino, a town in Guerrero. Gorrocheta is the mayor of Tiquicheo in neighboring Michoacan state. The attack occurred on the road to Ciudad Altamirano, municipality of Guerrero near the border of Michoacan. The sicarios used AK-47, according to some of the victims themselves.

According to accounts of a police officer, "The Tuta" was cornered by federal therefore he ordered the simultaneous attacks on police units.

 
Morelia, Michoacán.- About one hundred elements of the Federal Police, with the help of the Intelligence Center, conducted a raid in the mountains of Apatzingan where they suspected the known location of Servando Gómez Martínez alias "La Tuta".

According to versions of a federal police source, the name was witheld for security reasons, said that the police operation was very well orchestrated and was even backed up by a Black Hawk helicopter. The Intelligence Center had provided inofrmation and details of the location of a convoy of SUVs transporting "La Tuta".

Mexico and the US are working together bring down Mexico's newest, most violent drug cartel. Last month, 303 alleged La Familia members were arrested in 38 US cities. Fifteen members were indicted Friday in Chicago.

Mario Mendoza Reyes was at this church in Apatzingan, Mexico, when 200 federal troops searching for a leader of La Familia swooped in and arrested him and 32 other men. The Mexican Army has been criticized for heavy-handed tactics, and claims of abuse have soared.

Apatzingan, Mexico - They hand out Bibles to the poor in the rural foothills of the state of Michoacán. They forbid drug use, build schools and drainage systems, and declare themselves the protectors of women and children.

But this is no church group. This is La Familia Michoacána, Mexico's newest drug-trafficking gang, which now reigns over Mexico's methamphetamine trade. What began as a self-declared vigilante group doing "the work of God," now is seen as the nation's most violent criminal group.

Its influence stretches well beyond this patch of Mexico called "La Tierra Caliente" or "Hot Land." Last month, in the largest coordinated action against a Mexican trafficking organization north of the border, the United States arrested 303 alleged La Familia affiliates in 38 US cities. It was the culmination of "Project Coronado," which has nabbed more than 1,100 suspects in 44 months.

Fifteen suspected members of a Chicago distribution cell of a Mexican drug cartel were indicted Thursday for allegedly distributing thousands of kilograms of cocaine in the Chicago area and collecting millions of dollars.

The Chicago office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration seized 250 kilograms of cocaine and $8 million during an investigation that started in 2007 and focused on the Mexican drug-trafficking cartel La Familia Michoacana, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

The seizures were mostly in the suburbs, including Berwyn, Bolingbrook, Oak Lawn, Hickory Hills, Joliet and Justice.

A total of seven separate indictments were unsealed Thursday. All 15 suspects were charged with conspiracy to possess and distribute multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine.

Strike against Mexican cartel began in Roswell

Recently newspapers all over the country published accounts of the nationwide drug bust that brought down a massive Mexican drug cartel's operations in 20 states and netted more than 300 arrests.

But what they didn't say was that a Roswell cop who is a member of the Atlanta High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force (HIDTA) and a partner developed the break that led to those nationwide arrests.

When Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter, DEA Atlanta Field Division Special Agent in Charge Rodney G. Benson, HIDTA Director Jack Killorin and Roswell Police Department Chief Ed Williams announced Oct. 28 the arrests of 38 defendants in metro Atlanta, you could excuse Chief Williams for having perhaps the widest smile.

He takes a lot of pride in the fact that his officer played a major role in pushing over a row of dominos that together has crippled drug trafficking in the United States for at least one major drug cartel.

The defendants were arrested Oct. 21 as part of Project Coronado, a nationwide operation that targeted the distribution network "La Familia Michoacana" or "La Familia."

Hundreds of federal, state and local law enforcement officers made the arrests across metropolitan Atlanta.

U.S. Arrests Hundreds in Raids on Drug Cartel

Staging raids in 19 states, the Justice Department struck this week at one of Mexico’s most ruthless drug-trafficking organizations, a cultlike group known as La Familia Michoacana and notorious for beheading its enemies.

Calling it the largest strike ever undertaken against a Mexican drug cartel, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced the arrests of 303 people in the past two days, the latest action in a four-year investigation.

Law enforcement officials said the arrests and indictments would deal a major blow to a distribution network that trucked methamphetamine and cocaine to major cities in the United States, then sent cash and arms in the other direction.

La Familia controls much of the drug traffic in central Mexico and terrorizes the population there, the authorities said, torturing and killing its enemies, including police officers, and leaving the bodies in public with cryptic religious messages saying the dead suffered divine retribution.

Right after a crack-down from the Mexican army against the armed body of the Gulf cartel the Zetas, three bodies of men executed gangland style were discovered along with a "narcomensaje."

"We're the new group of matazetas and we are against the kidnappings and extortions, and we will fight against them in every state to clean up Mexico," read the message.

La Familia Michoacana

La Familia Michoacana (The Michoacán Family) or La Familia (The Family) is a Mexican drug trafficking cartel based in Michoacán, Mexico President Felipe Calderón's home state. Formerly the Gulf Cartel —as part of Los Zetas it has split off as its own organization since 2006.

The cartel's current leader, Nazario Moreno González known as El Más Loco (The Craziest One) preaches his organisation's divine right to eliminate enemies. He carries a "bible" of his own sayings and insists that his army of traffickers and hitmen avoid using the narcotics they sell. Nazario Moreno's partners are José de Jesús Méndez Vargas, Servando Gómez Martínez and Dionicio Loya Plancarte, all of which have a bounty of $2 million dollars each for their capture.
