62 African Migrants Rescued In Camp El Diez, Culiacan: Sinaloa

A total of 62 African migrants were rescued this Friday afternoon, July 5, who were being held inside a rental facility in Campo El Diez, Culiacan. 

The rescue was carried out by elements of the State Police when they were passing through the vicinity of Campo El Diez and noticed a vehicle that was unable to move due to mechanical failures.

When they approached the transport, they detected that it was carrying a group of 62 people of African origin, who were rescued instantly.

The 62 people included 51 men, 8 women, and 3 children, all from Mali, Benin, Ghana, Mauritania, Guinea, Sudan, Togo and Chad.


Those in charge of transporting the people denied that the event was a kidnapping or deprivation of liberty; however, the corresponding authorities will determine the causes of the kidnapping or deprivation of liberty.

The people were immediately transferred to Mazatlan to be taken to the immigration station and to be followed up on each of their cases.
