CULIACÁN. _ As part of operations against drug production and trafficking, members of the Mexican Army located and dismantled five areas used for the production of methamphetamine in the municipalities of Culiacán and Cosalá.


The discoveries were recorded in the towns of San Antonio, La Tasajera, Santa Anita, and Palo Dulce, where military personnel seized a total of 1,425 liters of chemical substances, as well as two condensers and three burners used in the synthetic drug manufacturing process.



According to estimates by federal authorities, the economic impact on organized crime amounts to 29 million pesos.

The sites were closed in a controlled manner to avoid risks to the population and prevent their reuse.

Mexican Army personnel went to verify the situation and, upon conducting reconnaissance on foot, noticed two suspicious trucks, which had the doors of the box half-open, perceiving that they had signs of damaged boxes and modifications were observed inside them, so with the use of canine binomials they located inside 200 packages in the form of bricks lined with white tape, which contained a whitish substance with the characteristics of cocaine.


The drug found weighed approximately 200 kg, which means a loss equivalent to 40 million pesos for organized crime.


The seized goods were handed over to the competent authorities for investigation and expert actions, and these actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law.

Personnel from the Mexican Navy of the Semar in coordination with the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) located and dismantled in the vicinity of ElDorado, what is considered to be the second largest clandestine synthetic drug laboratory neutralized so far in the current Federal Government.


According to the data, the site was located when naval personnel and representatives of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office were carrying out land surveillance patrols, approximately 198 kilometers southeast of the Eighth Naval Zone, based in Topolobampo, Sinaloa.


The authorities located 3,920 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine; 28,600 liters and 2,250 kilograms of precursor chemicals, essential chemicals and dual-use substances; as well as 28 reactors of different capacities; nine condensers; 19 distillers with a capacity of 500 liters; seven centrifuges; 124 plastic tubs of different sizes; 81 LP gas tanks of 30 kilograms; five submersible pumps; four motor generators; 28 current amplifiers; 23 fans; 60 aluminum rolls; 51 metal and plastic drums of 200 liters; 63 plastic drums of 50 liters; as well as diverse material presumably used for the elaboration of synthetic drugs.


In a press release, the Semar announced that the materials were destroyed on the site “with prior authorization of the competent ministerial authority, who integrated it to the corresponding investigation folder”.


According to the authorities, with this seizure, more than 1.5 billion pesos were seized from organized crime.

A clandestine laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs, which contained around 500 liters of methamphetamine, was seized in a town in the Sanalona syndicate, Culiacan, by members of the Mexican Army.

The Ministry of the Navy, through the Mexican Navy, informed that a special operation was deployed by naval personnel in coordination with the Attorney General's Office.

In these sites detected in El Tecomate, which are presumably used for the production of synthetic drugs, there were approximately 1,909 kilograms of what appears to be methamphetamine, as well as 1,500 liters and 350 kilograms of various chemical substances, in addition to material and tools that are usual in this illegal practice.

Naval personnel, with the support of a helicopter, in cooperation with the Attorney General's Office, located and neutralized three clandestine laboratories for the production of synthetic drugs, securing approximately 5,307 (five thousand three hundred and seven) kilograms of the finished product (presumed methamphetamine), 4,125 (four thousand one hundred and twenty-five) kilograms of chemical precursors, four reactors, three condensers, and diverse material, in the vicinity of the towns of "El Tecomate" and "Las Flechas", in Culiacán, Sinaloa, 229 kilometers southeast of the Eighth Naval Zone. 


It is worth mentioning that the seized laboratories and other materials were destroyed on-site.
