The Central American president requested that the Secretary of Security correct the information regarding a small plane seized in Colima.

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, corrected the information that the seized aircraft carrying nearly half a ton of cocaine was located off El Salvador heading toward Mexico and not originating from the Central American country, as he stated on July 8 from the National Palace.

On Wednesday afternoon, El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele asked Secretary Harfuch to rectify his July 8 report, stating that an aircraft from the Central American country was seized in Tecomán, Colima.

"In Tecomán, Colima, as a result of surveillance and protection of Mexican airspace, personnel from the National Center for Surveillance and Airspace Protection detected an aircraft from El Salvador carrying 428 kilos of cocaine, and three people were arrested. The value of the drugs is 96 million pesos," Harfuch explained during the "People's Morning Press Conference" conference.

However, the Salvadoran president clarified that the aircraft never flew through his airspace.

“On July 3, at 1:00 p.m., Costa Rica reported a suspicious aircraft track northwest of its territory. They activated the regional alert through APAN, a Central American air safety network. According to their own report, the aircraft track entered Costa Rica, briefly disappeared from radar, and then reappeared, heading out into the Pacific,” Bukele wrote on his X account.

He added that his "radars did not record any aerial contact within our airspace."

In his post, the Salvadoran president attached an image showing the plane's route: "very south of El Salvador and Nicaragua, with no proximity to national airspace. The route was also confirmed by JIATFS Key West (USA), which monitors illicit air traffic in the region."

"Their report is clear: the aircraft flew over the Pacific Ocean and never touched Salvadoran territory."

He stated that "El Salvador does not hide criminals or tolerate drug trafficking; we didn't do that before, and we won't do that now. Nor will we allow them to try to involve us in operations that are not our responsibility or ours."

Federal authorities reported that three people were arrested during the operation. Photo: Special
Therefore, he demanded that the "Government of Mexico immediately clarify and correct the statements made by its Secretary, Omar García Harfuch."

Later, the secretary responded to the Central American president and changed the word "originating," mentioned at the July 8 conference, to "altitude" above El Salvador.

"At 1:00 p.m. on July 3, 2025, CENAVi personnel detected a trace of interest 200 km south of San Salvador, El Salvador, as can be seen in the aircraft tracking graph."

Photo: @OHarfuch

He stated that in response to this information, CENAVI ordered aircraft to take off from various Military Air Bases to intercept the clandestine route toward the probable landing sites (Tecomán, Colima).
"Three people were arrested, and 427.65 kilograms of cocaine and the aircraft were seized. Indeed, the detainees are Mexican nationals and are being prosecuted for various crimes."

"We reiterate our respect and appreciation for the people of El Salvador," the Mexican secretary concluded his message.

Ciro Gomez Leyva Case: Harfuch confirms that the CJNG ordered the attack. There Is No Proof Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes Ordered The Attack On Mr. Ciro

CHAR

We conclude this conversation with Secretary of Security Omar García Harfuch. First, I want to ask you, Secretary, about the issue of comrade Ciro Gómez Leyva. Can it be determined that it was the Jalisco Cartel that requested his execution?

Yes, at the time, when we conducted the investigation by the Mexico City police and the Mexico City Attorney General's Office, everything indicated that the first detainees were... All the evidence that was reported to the victim of the attack at the time indicated that it was a Jalisco Cartel cell, and that was the case.

It was acknowledged until the end. Now, some have been sentenced by the Attorney General's Office, which later took over the case. Of the arrests that had been made in the city, was the Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes the one who ordered it?

There is no evidence that it was him directly.

The cell that attacked Ciro did indeed belong to this group, to this criminal group, and not necessarily, as some declared, on the leader's orders. Not necessarily, that. As far as I'm concerned, we stayed in the investigation.

There was no direct statement or anything that implicated him. He directly mentioned it, but the organization did. Oh, Nemesio Oseguera wasn't mentioned. He was not mentioned directly in the statements we obtained in Mexico City. No, sorry, I'll repeat. Ah, in the prosecutor's office, yes, it was in the prosecutor's office. This one referred directly to Mencho, but what is absolutely confirmed is the Jalisco cartel. Yes, of course. Any idea of the motive? We don't have any knowledge of the motive, but the investigation was very clear, very clear that each of the detainees was directly involved in the attack. Now, the direct involvement of each of the detainees in the attack was established. There's talk that
some of these hitmen were trained somewhere in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco. Is it known? Were they? What were they found? There were several, uh, a couple of places that the Ministry of National Defense went to check at the time. uh, they didn't find any training centers. Others have been found in Jalisco like the ones we've reported, but specifically that one in Ciudad Guzmán related to that one?

uh, to conclude, Secretary. Well, first, I have to ask you, there's no way because everyone was worried about your mother. Oh, thank you. That was fake news. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, she realized it. I hadn't realized it. Many hours later, she also realized it and posted a message. I mean, didn't you realize that you were there first? The rumor that she had been kidnapped and such. No, they didn't realize it. I was already in meetings. They had already talked about my job when they showed it to me. No, nothing, they already had the remedy and the rag, I mean, they say this. But mom is fine. Okay, how good. Well, greetings, then, Secretary, to the citizens, we talk a lot about politicians and relations with the United States, the governors, and the prosecutors' offices, and the citizens, how Omar García is directed, how he relates to Harfochos. Well, right now, obviously, contact with the citizens is very different from what we had in Mexico City. As chief of police, you have neighborhood meetings every week with residents of the 16 municipalities, to the point that he is almost head of government. Here in the Ministry of Security, it is very different because it is also a different job and a different dynamic. So here, our best way to connect with the citizens is by delivering results, and that is the president's instruction, and that is what we are working on, the citizens who have almost blind faith in their work. That should also be the case. We truly are a burden to the citizens. One thing we can assure you is that there is a security cabinet that is dedicated to one thing every day: security. With officials, for example, the Secretary of National Defense, General Trevilla, is a man with more than 40 years of experience in the military in security matters. He has been working in this field for many years. Admiral Morales also has more than 40 years of experience. Both have traveled the country, highly experienced people in security, and so that is the security cabinet. Okay, well, Secretary, thank you. I don't want to ask you, but what do you do with the doubts that suddenly arise? Are you doing well in the Ministry of Security? Do you remember with nostalgia Mexico City when you wanted to be a candidate? Do you think you can do it again, or are you already going for it? No, not at all. The Mexico City police force was a job, as we also mentioned here with you, that didn't allow for parallel agendas. That's why we resigned at the time. And here in the Ministry of Security, imagine, 8 months of government, we have a very, very demanding job and an instruction from the president that we cannot fail. And as long as the president decides we are in this position, well, we'll be here because what's interesting about Mexico City is that. I mean, the Secretary of Security wasn't a politician, that's why the pre-candidacy was surprising. He wasn't a politician, but the results came as a surprise. People saw them, and then they said, "Well, Omar García Harfuch is a good candidate. The same thing could happen in '20. In Mexico City, there was more direct contact with the people, and it's a very different dynamic than what we have right now in the federal government. Right now, as Secretary of Security, you have to follow the instructions given by the president or the cabinet and pay attention to the 32 states of the Republic, in absolute coordination, some more than others, with the federal entities. Well, good luck, Secretary. It's not easy. I know. I really appreciate your willingness to take the time. I think it's important that people see it, hear it, and perceive that you're close, that the reports will be addressed, and that the intention is to reduce violence. It's not easy, but in these eight months, there have been very good results, although we still have to wait. Regarding the disappearances, but I suppose it's 8 months, and there's time, right? And we're going to work too. Of course, I'm very grateful. Secretary, take care of yourselves. Thank you. Well, here we're going to take this, the riskiest step because the secretary is leaving. Thank you, Omar García Harfuch.

The young woman murdered along with her partner by the National Guard in Sinaloa was pregnant.

JUNE 3, 2025

LUZ NOTICIAS

VIDEO TRANSLATION

There is a strong outcry over the case of Jessica and Néstor, who were allegedly murdered and attacked by members of the National Guard in El Aguajito, in the municipality of Sinaloa. Jessica, her family says, was pregnant. It's a regrettable situation. The story with Ernesto Torres.

Onward with the report. Very good morning. How are you? José. Good morning. Good morning. Auditor of Luz Noticias. As you already mentioned, Jessica, this 25-year-old woman was a psychologist by profession and practiced her profession, according to her family. She was 4 months pregnant and was murdered along with her 48-year-old partner, Néstor, a merchant dedicated to selling roasted chickens.

Both lost their lives after being shot by members of the National Guard, allegedly in a confusion. This was in the municipality of Sinaloa. The unfortunate violent incident occurred in the afternoon. On Sunday, June 1st, on a dirt road near the town of El Aguajito, practically on the outskirts of the community.

This, as I already mentioned, belongs to the municipality of Sinaloa. According to information gathered, the couple was originally from the community of El Alamito. At the time of the incident, they were heading to visit family in El Aguajito. While traveling on a dirt road, a country road, they were intercepted by members of a National Guard convoy who allegedly opened fire on the couple.

Presumably due to a misunderstanding, at least this is the only explanation the relatives have found so far, since, according to them, neither of them was involved in illegal activities. The alleged misunderstanding that led to the death of this couple has caused, as you already mentioned, indignation and helplessness, especially among the relatives and the neighbors of these communities, who claim that Jessica and Nestor were civilians with no connection to illicit activities. Jessica was in a situation, because her pregnancy just happened over the weekend. Even though she was excited about her pregnancy, it's said that just the day before, on Saturday, she had shared with her family that she was pregnant, and yet, they would be parents, him and his parents, him and his partner. And unfortunately, this situation happened. Residents of Aguaquito claim that there are witnesses who saw the attack, because apparently the truck was driving when members of the National Guard had pulled them out of the vehicle and had both couples kneeling. Residents even tried to approach to intervene and tell the members of the National Guard that this couple was from another nearby community and that they had family in this same community, that they were acquaintances, and that they were good people.

However, apparently, the same elements began to ask them to retreat. They say, according to one of the witnesses who mentioned that he saw that he could see that they had them kneeling and that even the couple was scared. He narrated precisely that at that moment Nestor asked him to go to the community to warn everyone so that they would come precisely to try to intervene since apparently they were threatening them. Let's listen to a little of what one of the witnesses said. José, they were chasing me, they were chasing me. So I came back to the ranch again to warn that they had him there in Cados with his hands on his head. When I returned back I heard some people throwing Gunshots and they chased me back. When I was about to arrive, they shot at me and they chased me back. Well, I had to go back, and I went back with an aunt and they told him the same thing. "Kick him back, knock him back, knock him stop." I saw that he was alive, dude. I saw that he was alive and he had him kneeling next to the truck, next to the passenger seat. He had him kneeling and he was yelling at me to tell him. Well, I saw him kneeling. And well, a pickup truck was seized from the scene, which was left with multiple bullet wounds. No authority, not even the National Guard, at the moment, no police force has released any information about it. It's worth mentioning that, well, at least yesterday, this happened on Sunday. However, yesterday, June 2nd, that is, in the morning, in the report issued by the State Attorney General's Office on the criminal acts. Registered the day before or in the last 24 hours, there was no information about what they have secured at this point. Nor was the murder or death of these two people, that is, Jessica and Nestor, eh, disclosed, presumably as victims of the crime of intentional homicide, but neither was it mentioned in any way. And I would like to tell you that later this happened, well, on Sunday, no? However, the family, well, yesterday, eh, around noon was when they were expressing their discontent, their helplessness, and above all, their demand for justice. And in this regard, José, during the afternoon, already after noon in the early afternoon, dozens of people came to demonstrate at the National Guard barracks in the city of Wasabe to demand justice for Jessica's death. There were dozens of family members, friends, and neighbors from two communities in particular. They were asking for an explanation of what had happened. However, they were ignored. They carried signs, mainly those they brought or looked at, demanding an explanation for the death of these people who, as I mentioned, were residents of the community of Aguajito, belonging to the municipality of Sinaloa. There were approximately 35 people, all of them residents not only of Aguajito but also of Alamito, two small communities in the mountains of Sinaloa. They carried the messages, which could be seen reading, "We want no more answers, no more injustice, Mr. Governor." They even asked that the governor intervene, so that he could clarify this situation. They mentioned that they only pursue their professions and wanted to be heard. These protesters accused the National Guard members, supposedly assigned to this Wasabe base, of having fired directly at civilians, apparently due to confusion while they were traveling on this road on their way to Aguajito to visit their family. As I mentioned earlier, they claim that they were not involved in any illegal activity. Jessica was this 25-year-old woman, a psychologist by profession, while Nestor, a 48-year-old man, was a businessman who owned a chicken shop and that right there in the chicken shop, he also sold roast chickens. And well, this practically happened last Sunday afternoon, more than 48 hours ago, and at the moment, no authority had They have spoken out about it yesterday, while they were demonstrating outside the National Guard base, they were asking for help. The members even asked them to withdraw, not to resort to violence. However, they never did, it was never violent, they were the only ones. They shouted slogans, they shouted "situations" but they didn't attack the National Guard members either, and there were moments of tension in which the members practically threatened to arrest the protesters if they didn't leave the area. According to what they told us, they remained stationed outside the National Guard base for about three hours, almost four hours, waiting to be seen, for some authority, a high command, to receive them, to explain what happened or why they shot, and above all because there are witnesses, as we already heard, who witnessed them being below. That is to say, it's not a situation that was circulating and that they could have been confused. That's what they mention. However, it's not clear because no authority has given more details about it, José. I would also like to tell you that unofficially it has been announced that Apparently, they even had a gun. However, as I mentioned, there hasn't been an authority to speak out regarding this situation. José, very well. Well, we'll be on the lookout for any statements from the federal authorities. It's a very similar case to what happened with two girls in Badirahuato on Mexico 24 who were accompanied by their family in a van where soldiers, apparently mistaken for criminals, opened fire and, unfortunately, two girls were killed, injuring four more members of their family. That was also a very high-profile case, that of Lady and Alexa Alexia, and, unfortunately, it's apparently happening again now in the municipality of Sinaloa in Aguajito, and they are demanding justice. Let's see what the authorities say because the case of the Birahuato girls was handed over to the federal government, and we haven't heard anything more. Ernesto: Indeed, and that's what

They fear that a similar situation might happen, and that was what they were claiming and discussing yesterday, or what they were shouting in the slogans, "No more injustices, no more attacks on innocent civilians." This was what they shouted among the slogans, precisely to create an illusion or allude to forgiveness for the cases that have already been reported, where, apparently, innocent people have lost their lives. They point out that this couple, Jessica and Nestor, were not involved in anything illegal, that they were merchants in the community, and this is precisely what has caused outrage, and they are demanding an explanation from the authorities. Yesterday there were 35 people, however, they said or threatened to continue demanding, especially once they can carry out the funeral for this couple, who must be mentioned. Yesterday, some relatives were present, but most were focused on the topic of this couple's funeral. Very well,
thank you for this report. Good morning, José.

Sinaloa.- The head of the Federal Government's Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, acknowledged the heroic work of the Mexican Army in the operation that resulted in the death of Jorge Humberto "F," alias "El Perris" or "El 27," last Friday in Navolato, Sinaloa.

In a meeting at the Senate of the Republic, and when questioned by the media on this issue, the federal official indicated that the military was conducting an operation to arrest this individual, who was identified as one of the main perpetrators of violence in the region and who even had a wanted list from the United States.

He indicated that the soldiers were attacked, two of them were even injured, so they responded to the attack, and that the confrontation resulted in the death of "El Perris."

"I would like to mention that the Mexican Army performed a truly heroic task. Two military colleagues were wounded in this operation, which resulted in the death of this individual nicknamed 'El Perris.' This individual, known for his high level of violence, was linked to unlawful deprivation of liberty, kidnapping, and homicides, including his participation in what is known as the 'Culiacanazo,' in which he attacked authorities.

"This individual also had a bounty on him in the United States, and at the time of the operation leading to his arrest, military personnel were attacked, but bravely repelled the attack. They are wounded but out of danger, and we extend our full recognition to the Mexican Army," the head of Security stated.

Omar García Harfuch emphasized that President Claudia Sheinbaum's government continues with these strategies to combat insecurity, as evidenced by the fact that more than 21,000 people have been arrested so far during the current administration.

It is worth noting that on the afternoon of Friday, May 23, after a shootout between federal forces and armed civilians, Jorge Humberto "F," alias "El Perris" or "El 27," was killed in the town of Bariometo, in the municipality of Bachimeto, in the Sinaloa region.
During the same incident, it was confirmed that two soldiers were wounded by gunfire and were taken to a hospital in the city of Culiacán for medical attention.

US authorities were offering a reward of one million dollars to anyone who provides information leading to the capture of "El 27," equivalent to approximately 20 million pesos.

On September 21, 2024, Jorge Humberto "N," alias "El 27" or "La Perris," allegedly escaped during an operation carried out by the Mexican Army, which ended in a confrontation in some apartments in the Tres Ríos Urban Development sector. It was reported that he fled through the sewers of said building.

Mexico's Security Chief Harfuch Quietly Formed UNO, an Elite Federal Police Force to Take on Cartels

"Socalj" for Borderland Beat

Six years ago Mexico’s president disbanded the country’s Federal Police and handed security responsibilities fully to the military. Now, his successor has quietly begun to build an elite civilian investigative and special operations force to fight the drug cartels.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum had already shown a willingness early in her presidency to move away from former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s oft-criticized “hugs, not bullets” strategy. It focused on addressing the social roots of crime rather than directly confronting Mexico’s powerful cartels.

Sheinbaum's security chief, Omar García Harfuch, is drawing on his law enforcement contacts — mostly from the former ranks of the Federal Police — to claw back security capabilities from the armed forces with a civilian force under his direct command.

In a radio interview, the Secretary of Security asked for “an apology for the misunderstanding” about the arrest: “It was a drafting error”.

NOVEMBER 11, 2024

Jesus Esteban, alias “El Güero Pulseras”, is not in custody as mentioned by the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar Garcia Harfuch, in Tuesday's morning conference.

In an interview with Radiofórmula, Secretary García Harfuch asked for “an apology for the misunderstanding” about the arrest: “It was an editorial error”.

Sources consulted by Latinus affirmed that “it was a confusion” the information mentioned by Harfuch about this alleged operator of drug trafficker Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.

The Secretary of Security said earlier that the subject was arrested on Monday in a raid carried out in Chiapas by the Secretary of National Defense, the Attorney General's Office, the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Security.

The head of the SSPC commented that it was intelligence and investigation work that led to the location of “El Güero Pulseras” in a place that was used to store illicit objects and armor vehicles used by criminal groups.

During the raid, 935 kilos of marijuana, 54 long firearms, 545 magazines, 65 boxes with hundreds of cartridges, one armored vehicle, nine cars and three motorcycles were also seized.

The FGR also said that the property and the weapons seized were handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which will open an investigation against whoever or whoever is responsible for the crimes of carrying a firearm and possession of cartridges and magazines for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

For several months, Chiapas has been suffering an escalation of violence and insecurity due to disputes between drug trafficking groups in the region. According to organizations and activists, the Sinaloa and Jalisco Cartel - New Generation, as well as the self-proclaimed Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel, play a leading role on the border with Guatemala.
