CJNG Grupo Delta Kidnappers Arrested In Mexico State, Victim Freed And Weapons Seized

Six alleged members of CJNG Grupo Delta were arrested in a raid on a safe house in Tenancingo, State of Mexico this afternoon, according to a post on the Secretary of Mexico State Security Twitter account. One kidnapped woman was freed and various tactical equipment was seized.

The victim, age 24, was held and tortured for 14 days. The criminals cut off two of her fingers as they attempted to gain information about her father, who is an avocado farmer, according to Milenio. The men arrested are identified as Rubén "N", Ricardo "N", Edgar "N", Jesús "N", Susano "N" and Alexis "N", of 32, 23, 19, 41, 22 and 18 years old. 

Authorities were investigating several tips they received accusing the gang of being involved in extortion, kidnapping, and cobro de piso. 

Photos show authorities seized several AR and AK style rifles, pistols, cartridges, and six vests with  bulletproof plates. Among the equipment photographed is a police-style battering ram, an appropriate tool for kidnappers.

Five of the vests have the words 'CJNG' and 'DELTA' on them, a reference to their particular criminal cell within CJNG. 

The Delta cell is a faction within CJNG which surfaced in 2019. They have been behind many high profile attacks such as the killing of the ex governor of Jalisco, Aristoteles Sandoval in December 2020.

Mexico State’s Metropolitan Zone: Neighborhood Alarms, Closed Streets

It’s almost been two years since I’ve been here.  Little by little, Tecámac has grown and has populated fairly.  Everything was pretty quiet, unlike in municipalities like Ecatepec and Coacalco.

I lived in the latter for 16 years.  I knew, like anywhere else, that there was crime, but it began to increase much more soon after the departure of the PAN political party from the municipal presidency and the PRI’s entrance.

Where criminal presence increased the most was in part of Parque Residencial, close to where I lived.  I also heard references not very pleasant of communities such as La Joya, Villa de las Flores, which was a quiet area, and San Rafael.

The street where I lived, had to close with a white gate.  People would wake up to wheel-less cars, an increase in theft, express kidnappings, shootouts; things that I had never heard during the time that I lived there.  They aren’t as frequent, perhaps, as in Tamaulipas, but it is alarming that it increased.

State Of México: 51 Executed In the First Month of the Year

January 24, 2014— At only 24 days of starting the new year, in the state of Mexico there has been at least 51 murders, mainly occurring in the metropolitan area of Mexico City.  The fires that occurred on Sunday in the municipality of Tecámac, apparently, were not related to the “cockroach effect” of Michoacán.

According to a count from Revolución 3.0 based on newspaper articles, the violence of this entity, governed by Eruviel Ávila and in the past, Enrique Peña Nieto, has its own war which this month, would only be the tip of the iceberg.

Almost all of the murders that they’ve recovered have had ominous marks as other entities have recorded before.

This trend, moreover, seems to confirm the findings made a few weeks ago by the Citizen Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice AC (Consejo Ciudadano para la Seguridad Pública y Justicia Penal A.C.), which warned that it was possible that some municipalities of the State of Mexico are in an imminent danger of being a “failed state”.

“Municipalities of the State of Mexico, and its suburbs, which have had an increasingly widespread rate of extortions by organized crime and homicides on the rise: Neza, Los Reyes La Paz, Chalco and Valle de Chalco, among others”, read the document “Municipalities of Mexico under the condition of a “failed state”.

39 die in central Mexico since Sunday

A total of 39 unidentified individuals have been murdered or have been found dead in Mexico state and in Mexico's capital since Sunday, according to Mexican news accounts.

A news item posted on the website of El Sol de Mexico news daily Monday said that 14 individuals were found in three separate sites Monday in Mexico state.

An unidentified spokesman with the Mexico state Procuraduria General del Etstado (PGE) or attorney general reported that six of the dead were found in Toluca, the state capital of Mexico state, all wrapped in plastic bags and stuffed inside a vehicle in  Zinacantepec colony.  Another five were found in El Seminario colony, and two more were found dead in  Santiago Tianguistenco colony.

According to a news item posted on Animal Politico website, a total of 17 dead have been found since Sunday including the 13 found dead Monday.

The report also quoted Procuraduria General de Justicia del Distrito Federal (PGJDF), Rodolfo Fernando Rios Garza saying 22 more victims have been found in Distrito Federal since last Sunday.  Violent incidents have also included three kidnappings in Venustiano Carranza and Alvaro Obregon.

Rios Garza insisted that some of the shootings and deaths in Distrito Federal have been isolated incidents, with little connection to organized crime.
