Good evening to all the Michoacán citizens, federal government, and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense. The day of a social uprising is very near. As citizens, we will protect our families and stop the murders of innocent, hardworking people committed by Wicho, Poncho, and Abuelo Farías.

We say to the government, that if you are going to continue supporting the insults and abuses committed by these extortionists, the people will no longer allow it. Let them wage their war with other cartels. It's not fair that we, the people, have to pay for this.

Their extortion and fee collection business is lucrative. But now, they’re trying to recruit our wives and daughters to form so-called self-defense groups. Open your eyes: these self-defense groups are hitmen under the command of Wicho, Poncho, and Abuelo Farías. It's unjust to see them mess with the lives of people and hard working citizens.

We're fed up with their persecutions, the government's abuses, and their lies. The only thing they’ve ever given us was lots of empty promises. If Michoacán and Mexico need another revolution, it will be born here in Michoacán. The state of Michoacán will no longer live under the injustices of the government and the murders of the so-called self-defense groups.

As for you, Abuelo Farías, we all know that the government supports you with the weekly percentages you give them. Wicho and Poncho, we Michoacanos know that you are supported by the mayors of Los Reyes, Tingüindín, Tocimbo, and Cotija.

They’re the ones that allow them to have those scumbag public security directors who lend themselves to the disappearances of citizens and many other things. Let it be clear, government, this is our last warning. Expect us very soon.

Army busts clandestine mega-lab in Tepalcatepec, a blow of 80 million a week to Michoacán's biggest drug lord, after the murder of eight soldiers in his territory

INFORMATION BY NOVENTA GRADOS

Tepalcatepec, Mich., May 28, 2025. In a major blow to organized crime, members of the Mexican Army located and dismantled a clandestine mega-laboratory in the municipality of Tepalcatepec. The laboratory had the capacity to produce nearly two tons of synthetic drugs weekly, with an estimated value of more than 80 million pesos per week.

The operation was reportedly carried out during surveillance and reconnaissance patrols in high-crime areas, specifically in the vicinity of the town of Catarino Pérez, according to the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena).

During the operation, soldiers detected several individuals aboard a pickup truck who, upon noticing the military presence, abandoned the vehicle and fled into the undergrowth. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen, was transporting two tubs containing approximately 300 kilograms of a granulated substance with characteristics similar to methamphetamine.

After securing the vehicle, the soldiers conducted a search of the area and, a short distance away, located a clandestine complex operating as a drug laboratory. The site was equipped with industrial infrastructure and large quantities of chemical inputs.

At the site, four reactors, four condensers, three metal centrifuges, seven cylindrical containers, 53 drums containing unidentified chemicals, 32 vats, 29 drums containing various substances, six buckets containing unknown white material, 64 sacks containing probable caustic soda, more than 10 gas tanks, and three large-capacity metal pots were seized.

This discovery represents one of the most significant seizures in the region so far this year and comes just hours after the deaths of eight Army and National Guard soldiers when a mine was activated that blew up the armored truck they were traveling in, on the border between Michoacán and Jalisco. The crime is attributed to the terrorist organization (designated as such by the United States) Carteles Unidos, which includes the Los Reyes Cartel and the Tepalcatepec Cartel, with Juan José Farías "El Abuelo" as its top leader.

Despite being the leader of a terrorist group, it is presumed that El Abuelo Farías does not have a single arrest warrant in Michoacán. However, it has been proven that the Army protects its territory from incursions by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, even using helicopter gunships to preserve the drug trafficker's hegemony.

The state government has even further protected the criminal stronghold of Tepalcatepec—a municipality governed by a sister-in-law of El Abuelo Farías—by installing six Interinstitutional Operations Bases with state agents and soldiers, a disproportionate number compared to, for example, Morelia, the state capital, where there are only five bases to protect one million residents, while Tepalcatepec has only 24,000 inhabitants.

Sedena Deploys 860 Elements In Michoacan To Guarantee Lemon Production

Apatzingán, Mich. The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) deployed 860 elements in six municipalities of Michoacán, including Apatzingán, Buenavista, Parácuaro, Múgica, Tepalcatepec and Aguililla, to guarantee the production and commercialization of lemons, threatened by extortion by members of organized crime, mainly by the Viagras cartel.

La Jornada visited the “Rancho Seco” orchard, the “La Luna” packing plant and El Tianguis Limonero, located between the town of Antunez and the municipalities of Apatzingan and Paracuaro, which were targets of extortion by organized crime. Producers were asked for up to 2 pesos for each kilo of packaged lemons.

However, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo committed to actions in favor of security in Michoacan municipalities where lemon production is the main economic activity.

Therefore, as of October 1, the 100-day plan of the Federal Administration was launched, with the aim of guaranteeing that the citrus production and commercialization chain develops in an environment of security and public peace.

According to the results of the citrus plan, from October 1 to November 25, 63 alleged members of organized crime have been arrested, 61 firearms, 383 magazines, 11,322 cartridges, 12 grenades, 28 vehicles were seized and 132 kilo 670 grams of marijuana and 980 grams of methamphetamine were seized.

“With the start of the current administration, strategies were implemented mainly related to the attention to the different problems in the country, mainly violence and insecurity. In Michoacán we are working with all the authorities: federal, state, armed forces, police, state and municipal public security. There are 64,111 hectares of lemons grown in the state. The state has the first place in lemon production. We have a register of 3,411 producers. There are 26 municipalities in the state that are dedicated to lemon production, but the concentration is in the six aforementioned municipalities of this hot land area,” said Brigadier General Eugenio Leonardo Lopez Arellanes, State Coordinator of the National Guard in Michoacan.

He indicated that 420 elements of the Armed Forces, National Guard participate, 360 elements of the Army, “we have 50 elements of the Secretary of Public Security of the State, Civil Guard is known, as well as 30 elements of Municipal Public Security. We do it in different routes established in the six municipalities, patrolling, visiting plants and orchards.

Likewise, military protection posts have been set up and personnel carry out security patrols along the lemon routes, visit packing plants and provide escorts for vehicles transporting lemons from the production fields to the storage places and marketing points, as well as for the transportation of lemons from the production fields to the storage places.

But not only that, during the operation the elements have managed to combat extortion, kidnappings, homicides and other crimes related to the production and commercialization of this product.

Hours earlier, the Sedena killed two alleged criminals and injured another, seized a vehicle and seized six weapons, the confrontation originated some 30 kilometers from the site.

Gerardo Zavala González, president of the Parácuaro Lemon Growers Association, said that among the main problems is that drivers transporting lemons to different states of the country are sometimes robbed. “One packer was robbed on the way from Morelia to Querétaro, that is what they face outside the municipality, being stopped and robbed. Another packer told me that he was also robbed in Maravatío. We are calmer with the presence of the National Guard, there is more security”.
