On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Cartel de Caborca's armed wings, La Plaza and Los MataSalaz (Salaz Killers), published a communiqué video sending a message to turncoats. The turncoats are former key La Plaza members, including Fernando Salmeron Perez, also known as "Nando Arenas," and Guero Colorado, who both joined Los Salazar or the Cartel Independiente de Sonora about a year ago. Fernando Salmeron Perez, "Nando Arenas" was accused in previous messages by La Plaza of killing his own workers. Nando Arenas was a key member of La Plaza who fought the Los Chapitos Cartel when the latter made incursions into Hermosillo and Ciudad Obregon, Sonora.

This message goes out to all the traitors. Güero Colorado, everyone is seeing how things are going for you. You said we didn't have anything, and now you're the one who’s done for. You and that faggot Nando Arenas, need to stop saying that you walked away from this because there wasn't any support.
Have you already forgotten the million pesos I paid after your capture when the authorities took the recent photo of you in the AMIC reward, months before the Jotiza (Chapiza Fags) collapsed?
