The arrests took place inside a house located in the Las Cañadas neighborhood of the municipality of Zapopan.
Coordinated actions by federal forces in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco, led to the arrest of a man identified as one of the main perpetrators of violence in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, allegedly working for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, as well as two other men found in possession of firearms and suspected drugs.
The arrested man is José Gabriel "S," 26 years old, alias "Uber," identified by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) as the leader of a criminal cell of the aforementioned cartel and considered one of the main instigators of violence in the metropolitan area. He was allegedly responsible for drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, murder, and arms trafficking.
Two other men were arrested along with him: Mauricio Cruz "A" and Carlos Alberto "Q." Authorities seized a rifle, two handguns, three magazines, ammunition, 500 doses of methamphetamine, five vehicles, a property, and 10 cell phones from the three men.
This was achieved through mobile and aerial surveillance by federal forces, which led to the location of a residence linked to the leader of a criminal cell in the Las Cañadas neighborhood of Zapopan municipality. Based on the evidence obtained, a judge issued a warrant to search the property.
The arrest of low level members is not sufficient. You must do much more to have mexico off the table.
